Without this movie, we would never have had the 90s Batman show.
RIP Kevin Conroy
RIP
@Metacashica and Pennytera you did not just ask that. He was a voice actor who played most of the animated Batmen and Arkham’s Batman. He sadly passed a few months ago.
@@khizeryusufzai2185 I’m not sure it’s “most”, I’m sure Diedrich Bader and Jason O’Mara cover a lot of ground today, but yeah the amount of DTVs he did do add quite a bit.
@@DigiRangerScott I just said most really didn’t check but he was in DCAU and Arkhamverse so to me it’s most.
We would also never have Mark Hamill as Joker, and DCAU.
This movie was nothing short of a masterpiece. Tim Burton and Michael Keaton made a solid combination.

This was mind-blowing in 1989; the first time we'd ever seen (in live action) a superhero wearing something other than tights. BATMAN was the real deal.
i'm pretty spoiled then. i'm pretty sure this batman was the very first superhero i remember seeing as a kid
You arrived in time for the party!
In The UK it was rated 12, I was 11. I was so looking forward to the video release and was 12 when it was about to be released. Sweet. But you see, back then 12 was a cinema only rating. So instead of going with PG they went with 15 😭. My parents were strict on ratings. It still is a 15. Which remains plain dumb. The Dark Knight though 12 🤷🤷🤷

I love the Tim Burton Batman movies a shame he didn't get a chance to finish his trilogy
@@dsalvatier studio dont want him to direct 3 movie
He's back in The Flash so hey it'll be fun!
In fact, Tim Burton at the time of creating Batman did not like the concept of a sequel, and even a continuation. He made the first part whole, where there is no hint of a sequel. The company literally begged him to make a sequel. For part 3, he came up with only a couple of ideas, but the studio simplified the plot for the sake of a larger fee and merchandise, which eventually became Batman Forever.
@@dsalvatier yes he did he said it in the documentary on Batman Returns but DC wanted toys
@Andy Hall, head to channel awesome and check out their what if Tim Burton made batman forever, and batman and robin
Always loved the look of Gotham in these movies. The architecture looks insane, like a steam punk noir
I've been introduced to these older batman movies and i can 100% agree, it is as if Gotham City is its own character, so much atmosphere - I love tim burton's depiction of gotham city and 2nd place is Joel Schumacher's depiction which was basically "tim burton's gotham on steroids" and 3rd place is The Batman 2022, 4th place is dark knight trilogy
it's been 34 years and not a single batmobile design came close to being as iconic!
Right, it's still my favorite Batmobile design!
Robert Patterson is the 2nd best in my opinion
Except for the 56 year old one from 66 which is *more* iconic.
I'm actually more of a fan of the Batman the Animated Series batmobile.
For me it's Affleck mobile
Despite being old, the costume design for Batman really looks so cool. Specially that yellow Batman symbol at chest and the pure Black helmet are so amazing. Better than many superhero designs in today's movies
the headpiece is iconic and still looks great. unfortunately, it's form over function as he can't even turn his head and must have almost no peripheral vision
Its called a cowl.
Hi how are you doing
I don't hate the extra wing idea; I just like the symbol without it better.
the costume here are kinda weird specially the neck and the fit of over all suit but his latest suit in 2023 it's a sheer perfection
I got my 12 year old son to watch this with me last week…such a classic! We just finished Batman Returns and started Batman Forever…growing up in the 90s…these are my jam!!! 🦇 ❤

I camped out in front of the movie theater at 9am. The movie started at 3pm. It's the only time I did that. It was well worth the wait. One of the greatest cinematic moments of my life.
I was young but I do remember the Batmania and merchandising. The merchandising was bigger than Star Wars although the toy line was quite limited
@@silvervalleystudios2486 yes! I remember the tshirts and the ridiculous amount of merchandising. It was great. I loved it. I'm an artist and my drawing book was filled with Batman art. It was some really good times.

Your request has been answered.
Hi how are you doing
Wow! This is both nostalgic and modern at the same time.
This re-cut trailer was so well done. That Batmobile after 30 years is still the most menacing ever made. And yes...in my humble opinion, even more so than the one in the Matt Reeves/Robert Pattinson movie.
If you saw this car in a dark alley, you'd be frightened, not just of it but what you expect to come out of it. If you saw the Matt Reeves car, you'd think "Nice ride" but see it just as suped up American muscle. The Matt Reeves car was certainly menacing and aggressive. But the 1989 Batmobile...it would just send shivers down your spine and cause the hairs on your skin to stand up.
Michael Keaton will always be one of the best Batman portrayals ever.
Originally, they were thinking of casting Bill Murray as Batman instead of Keaton. I'm glad that didn't happen.
No

I always thought the actor (Hugo Blick) who they got to play young Jack Napier (Joker) was a perfect match.
“See ya around, kid!”

Seeing Keaton in that black suit brings me right back to 13 years old, listening to the Prince soundtrack and trading the collector cards with buddies. So good.
The best to ever do it. Batman, Joker, Burton, Elfman. It all started here.
Masterpiece🔥🌙🦇
No, second one is masterpiece 🔥
The editor started going crazy at 1:21 !!🔥🔥🔥Seen this movie a 1,000 times and he’s making these shots look brand new and intenser than it actually is in the movie. Love it! Take me back to 1989! 😂
they should re-edit and re-score the movie for a modern audience
Hi how are you doing
Now people know why dc re-upload this trailer
Jack Nicholson was phenomenal for this role! It's hard to choose between him and Heath Ledger as a Joker
Both displayed a different side of Joker. Jack as the Clown/Trickster and Heath as the Terrorist
For me it is Jack, since i liked his Joker being more funny but creepy at the same time as the devil himselfs smiles upon you
Nichlson is the joker. Ledger is just a crazy modhofocker with face painted.
it's nice to come back to things from our childhood and still think it's great
Hi how are you doing
If they rereleased this now in the theater, I'd go see it.
Time to rewatch this masterpiece again! 🦇
"If you gotta go, go with a smile" Hehehe
Michael Keaton's Batman is definitely the Golden Age Batman from the 1930s when batman use to kill.
Ben afflecks batman is a mixture of golden age Batman and Frank Miller's 80s Batman.
And Christian Bales Batman has the essence and spirit of Dennis O'Neill Batman from the 1970s
All 3 are my favorite so far , the rest I could careless about.
Its nothing without the original soundtrack.
The outro music.. just amazing and refreshed old memories

I loved these movies (michael keaton, val kilmer, Jack Nicholson) so much ❤️
Welcome back, Mr. Keaton! ;-)
We missed you.
I was watching some old 1986/1987 episodes of Double Dare recently. There were a couple of questions related to Batman- One asked the name of the Commissioner that helps Batman and the other was simply what is Batman's real name. Neither team could answer either question. I think that in a nutshell shows the impact this movie had on our culture. You ask just about anybody in the post-1989 Batman world these questions and they are likely to get them right... but before Burton's Batman, these things just weren't common knowledge. Batman had not seeped into the public conscious until this movie came along and changed everything. 1989 Batman not only created the comic book movie industry as we know it today, but it brought Batman into the forefront of fictional characters- where he has stayed for the past 35 years.
Shame they aren’t doing anything more with Keaton now after the Flash. The cancellation of ‘Batgirl’ will forever be a disgrace and Safran’s comments the other day were appalling. Talk about throwing filmmakers under the bus.
I’ve worked in the industry for nearly a decade and I worked on that film here in Glasgow as a favour to my friend Laura who was 3rd AD on it and if I’m honest it was poorly run as they had people doing AD assistant/location work who had little to no experience and it felt very low budget but regardless it should one day be seen in some shape or form even if it is the s***s.
My all time favorite Batman film!!! Loving this modern trailer, and can’t wait to see Keaton’s Batman again in The Flash! Wish we’d get a Batman Beyond film with Keaton, but glad we at least get to see him one more time.

Who else came here after watching the Flash' Trailer in february 12 2023?
This trailer captures almost none of the “feel” of the film, because there’s no Elfman music, just kind of generic trailer music.
The bombastic and triumphant 89 score, is what gives this film its identity. Even the original trailer, which only had a few seconds of music, succeeded better, because those few seconds were Elfman cues.
