And in addition to my initial comment, I enjoyed the film on so many levels. I appreciate the fact that this is the first time that a film about Elvis Presley truly revealed the cultural influences that shaped his wonderfully caring attitude, core beliefs, musical style, and image in general. It reveals how open-minded he was concerning social-political politics albeit he kept his opinions close to his chest while allowing his music to be his voice. There wasn't a prejudice bone in his body, in my opinion. He wasn't judgemental since he analyzed people not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character, and that is a beautiful characteristic to have. He had great discernment concerning some things, but, was blind to other areas of his personal life as many of us are... However, that just shows to prove that no one is perfect. EP was a natural talent that missed his true calling concerning some aspects of his life... He got caught up in a bad contract due to his manager's greed, his outrageous spending habits, and he associated with many people that didn't have his best interest at heart. And unfortunately due to his isolation, poor health care alongside the weight of fame and fortune without proper guidance and good management, life began to take a tremendous toll on his health overall. Once he realized his predicament he tried to make significant changes, unfortunately, it was too late. He grew angry, deeply depressed, and clamored for help, as far as, his pride would allow... Ultimately, tragically and unfortunately he passed away, alone.
Love your hard work in telling us the TRUTH about Elvis and keeping the Elvis history and puzzle straight too. Thank for keeping the record straight Mr. Trey on the so called new Elvis movie as well. I have heard bits and pieces about the movie and know it ISN'T a TRUE piction of Elvis. I have no desire to see the Hollyweird sensationalizing of Elvis. Elvis was tame compared to dirty dancing and other crud that has come since the 1950s. Maybe you might be able find out if the girl Elvis was kissing on the cheek in the one picture is still with us. And maybe get her take on meeting Elvis. Yes Elvis had a way of making you a fan for sure. A fantastic vlog Mr. Trey. Thank you. You are the super sleuth at Elvis history and puzzle.
All of those "old" people in the photo of the mayor make me laugh. Their faces are STONE watching Elvis. Welp, now I'm one of those old people, but from day 1, when I see Elvis, it's all smiles. Glad the mayor became an Elvis fan. Great video. Always love the match ups.
Love this story!! What a cool theatre. I had heard the story about his little finger, but didn't know the mayor or governor - whoever - was in the theatre watching!!! Love it. Elvis showed them!
Wished I had been aware at this time but I was not born until ‘55. Not coming from a musical family I never knew about the younger Elvis. That is the era that I am an Elvis fan of. How he changed it all.
Just amazing theatre. So glad it's still around and in much of its original condition. So cool to see the real place where he shook his pinkie. He talks about this on the Comeback Special. Awesome vid, Trey. Look forward to your next one. Take care.
Thank you for sharing with us. I would of liked seeing Elvis when he first started out, so young. He was full of so much energy. His hair is brown then. He did look better with black hair. Elvis went from little stages to hugh ones. From a small following to more than you could imagine. Elvis had a journey that rock our world. A Elvis fan for life. Long lives Elvis! Hard to think of now days, as bad. People are wild.
Steve, I love Elvis in black hair but he is also a beauty in brown..recall those pix from his army return. Also, Ray Walker preferred his fawn brown hair.
That Florida theater needs to hold an Elvis tribute concert/show Elvis movies. Lots of fans would make a trip to Jacksonville for an all Elvis weekend.
....another awesome video, Trey!💕👍💕 Thank you so much for the meticulous care you take in recreating scences from Elvis' life & taking us along for the ride! ⚡💓TCB💓⚡
Thank You Trey! Nice video, great details! We Elvis fans enjoy and most important is the accurate information you give us fans. Furthermore, Trey! You learned from the best (The Spa Guy) giving us the opportunity to see places that Elvis performed and Historic theaters that hold incredible stories that not many of us know about. The Theatre is absolutely gorgeous!! Thank You!!! A Couple Elvis Fans
I never knew the significance of that little sign of rebellion ...gotta be one of my fav parts lol 😎🖤🤍❤ thank you for showing the actual location WoW . Thank you Trey
Hi Trey what another great true event video! 👍 you do such great work! Much appreciated! Loved the Theatre and the photos ❤ how kool you and Spa guy get to stand and see where Elvis was 👍❤ Thanks again Trey! Sending love and peace 💙💙☮☮🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘
Man this is too cool. As a Jax native, born and raised, who has seen many shows at the FL Theater, I really appreciate it. And the stories of Elvis' show were definitely passed down from my parents' generation. Too cool that this all actually happened at this show. Elvis has left the building!
Great video in the movie they had to dramatize the part Elvis defying the authorities and Colonel Parker. Me being a life long Elvis fan knew it didn't go down like that
Hello Trey! I'm always looking forward in seeing what you will uncover! I love this rare episode about the restrictions on his performance. It would be wonderful to find the police footage. You are quite the historian! I won't double dribble! Happy hunting! Tanya
This was amazing! Thank you, Trey! It`s a pity they didn`t film the "Pinky Finger" scene in the new Elvis movie here at the right spot. But now that we have your documentary, in our mind, we will always add the facts by ourselves :)) Once you know things, you can`t un-know them. Right?!
@@GlobetrottingWithTrey Thanks for your reply, Trey :) I just wanted to add that the way you filmed this theatre (from Elvis` view), made an enormous impact on me. The first thing that came to mind was his stage fright and I thought "Oh boy... Poor Elvis!" It`s quite big and the construction is pompous and can be intimidating when you imagine all seats being taken.
I wonder if any of the car salesmen are still around that were lucky enough to have Elvis walk in and buy 5-7 cars at one time. Or the Harley dealer in CA I believe he purchased 10 bikes at once. A salesman’s dream! Another great video thank You.
So cool that the judge became an Elvis fan. I went to see the Elvis movie again and they were sold out, AGAIN !. I Will probably have to get tickets on line cause the lady said it has been sold out every show. Thank you Trey for the great videos about my man Elvis.
Thank you Trey. Loved being able to see this beautiful historic landmark where Elvis played in 1956. The authentic pictures were fantastic. Appreciate all your hard work in these videos. Safe travels.
Wow Trey this is fantastic some amazing photo line ups and a theatre that's still standing after all these years, what I also liked was that the restoration was done sympathetically they didn't just knock original walls down to gain a bigger area. Trey I would like to ask you how would you go about finding the footage that was taken by the police of Elvis in 1956 at this theatre? Someone must have it even after all these years. What do you think?
@@PauloPereira-jj4jv Years ago I had seen a few seconds of this police footage in a documentary but I was wondering how much more footage had been recorded in total?
Trey What a Good Video. I have heard about the Pinky finger and the hip Story, but I thought it was in reference to the Ed Sullivan Show. Now I know . Thanks
Really cool, Trey! I will make mention, the area of new stage in the downstage area, appears to have been added to fill in the orchestra pit. Just guessing, the picture from’56 probably shows the press staged in the orchestra pit, not a VIP area.
04:21 That is definitely Junior & Gene FOR SURE & 10:43 Shows the piano center stage, so that's where the piano was there. This is some of my FAVORITE PHOTOS. Knowing June & her friends were there. He was surrounded by real friends, family & his puppy love. You know he looked back on these years the rest of his life. The thrill of it all, the money & excitement. No real concerns, I think Linda would be the only girl he would have that kind of dedication from again. Just being spoiled and catered to while traveling. It's a shame really, inside he was a beautiful person, he deserved real love. Everyone changes when they find THE ONE, I don't think he was any different. His health just gave out first. I wish he had journaled, to know his views on it all would be mind blowing. Listening to his interviews, the books he read, his never ending quest for salvation & spirituality- he was a deep person. His journals would have been MIND BLOWING.
Hey Trey great video, about 6 minutes in when we see the pic of Elvis waving on the stage, that's the piano to his right I believe? Keep up the good work.
Thanks Trey very interesting and to see back stage to. Haven't you or Billy been there before but just filming the out side in that ally . Remember all the painting on the walls. Thanks again for the true story of where Elvis wiggled his little finger 😄
I guess the judge became an Elvis fan because he realized that Elvis was a great entertainer and a very nice person. I always wondered where it happened at cause Elvis mentions this on the 68 Comeback Special. Elvis said the police came out and all I could move was my little finger. Lol. Another great piece of Elvis history. Keep up the good work Trey. You rock ! Thank you very much ❤
Thats what I was always to believe it was in Florida in 56 and was told he couldnt shake his hips he could not even moves his little pinky, however Elvis did move his pinky and moved and did get in trouble. You are correct and I said it even when I seen the trailer for the movie he couldnt have sung trouble because he didnt even know the song yet.
It looks like the stage was added onto.... After watching the whole video you did say this, lol What DAY was Elvis there in August 1956.... I might have missed that, if anyone knows, Thanks!
It doesn't matter, it's Hollywood so not everything is going to be precise. But, it's about the message. The fact Elvis Presley was taken advantage of Big Time by a lot of people (and family) that he trusted. He was an amazing performing artist that was also a significant contributor to cultural change. I perceive him as the first multi-cultural artist/influencer. The movie is fantastic and dispels many delusions about the man, Elvis Presley. Too many people glorify EP. He's not to be glorified. He's to be respected and admired for his amazing talent. And, EP, said it in his own words, but I paraphrase, "I appreciate your sentiment, but I'm not a king, there's only one king at that's Jesus Christ."
This is perhaps one of the most well preserved and least renovated Elvis locations so far. Thanks Trey!
