- Was totally not planning on doing a video so I have no make up on, don’t judge. Searched for videos and couldn’t find any in this exact topic so made one myself. Hope it helps.
Thank you for your valuable insight into this problem. Now I know where and what to look at on my 2010 f150
Thank you for sharing I’m currently working on the same issue with my 2011 f150
Thanks for sharing. Did you happen to have a small plastic gear that broke off and fell into the blower fan? Looks like your actuator is still in tack.
What's the best way to just unplug the recirculation door actuator?? I recently removed the broken recirculation door gear from the blower motor and fixed the really loud noise problem. I left the recirculation door as it was and put everything back together. I now have a faint buzzing noise that is present for the first few minutes of starting the truck and again after I turn off the truck. I think this is the recirculation door actuator that is still trying to open/close the recirculation door. Assuming so, I want to unplug the recirculation door actuator. Wondering what the easiest way is to get access to the actuator to just unplug it. Thanks!
I figured it out. The buzzing noise was the recirculation door actuator that was continuing to turn. I was able to unplug it by just reaching up from the bottom (next to the blower motor) with my left arm. To unplug it, you have to first pull out the red tang, then depress the flange on the connector with one finger, then pull out the connector. After unplugging, no more buzzing sounds! Note, I also took off the small side panel between the glove box/air bag and the passenger door so I could see what I was doing back there. Hope this helps someone.
Hey I hear a weird nose too!
Here is the video. Is this the same sound? It is located behind the glove box
could not see where you took the actuator off or put it on, where is it attached?
It’s kinda far back in there. I had to pop the glove box out and let it hang so I could shine a light in and see it through the side like he did in the video
The music is so loud, It is hard to see what is going on.
Next video, please turn that background music off.
