I did this on my 2010 f-150. There’s a lot of sharp metal behind that dash! My hands looked like I’ve been trying to give feral cats a bath. Nice job Rich.
@@FordBossMe I love you buddy I don’t care if other people don’t your so cool and honest what more could people want then this lol we are Lincoln brothers for life bud 😇🥰🙏👍♥️
Had my apprentice have the "it won't go together" complaint doing a blend door actuator the other day...told him to gently wiggle things and spin things and it'll go together...he didn't get it, took me 5 seconds to drop it place...then I took it right back out and told him to learn how to do it.
did that one time on sisters explorer.i had to learn to do everything thru a small mirror.learned a ton about eye hand coordination, & working backward.it messes with your head.but turned out fine.
The Chevy Impalas had a similar problem. Replaced several actuators. I think it was for the recirculation door. Did plenty of blend door actuators on either side of the dou zone HVAC systems.
It's incredible this is still a problem. My 97 Explorer had the 'blend door' break and it cost $700 to fix it. Fercrissakes use metal instead of plastic.
My 2014 just started doing this today. I thought it might be a badly constructed bomb. lol Thanks for the vid, but that looks like a major PITA. I may just live with it. What's strange is it does it before I even start the car and continues for a while after the key is out.
After the new motor is installed, remove the fuse for a minute, then replace the fuse, then turn the key forward for a minute so it will perform a calibration.
I hear you knockin butchu can't come in! Ive been changing these actuators since the 90s, like the Explorers. They weren't as loud as these newer ones though. Similar location and I use similar less invasive shortcuts. I almost miss 'em.
Just replaced mine and it's still knocking. For sure know it's this one because I can put my hand on it and fill it knocking. Confused why it would be knocking after replaced. I even tried doing what you said to reset. I even remove the fuse.
Glad it wasn't a little shop goblin in there with a tiny hammer. Once they get in the shop it is chaos! Good information. Wouldn't mind looking inside the little module gear box. 😁🙂🐶🐒
When motor has power but isnt dropped in, i turn control knob all down on cold side. Should the motor gear keep spinning around in 360 continuously about four or five times, or is my actuator bad?
Great video, but we are having trouble getting heat on driver’s side. 2011 f150 lariat Have replaced 3 different actuator with Ford brand twice and still problems
More fun when they don't click but just continuously run between hot and cold. I actually searched for "Ford AC possessed by demons" and found the solution.
Since I can make the clicking noise stop by putting the vent settings on FLOOR and FACE, I'm just gonna leave it lol. It only clicks when in the FACE-only, or DASH-only setting. And for the AC, not the heater. F150 2014 Lariat 3.5eco 4x4
You know surely be nice when you pay $60 to $90,000 for a truck or any car or truck that they would put a little bit better parts in the damn thing and not plastic it's crazy you got to pay 7 hours labor in California That's at least $140 an hour do the math The parts probably 25 bucks it's crazy
Thanks for the video! Just replaced my blend door on a 2013 limited. Less than 2 hrs and i took my time. $20 part and saved a ton on labor.
I needed this 2 years ago lmao, thanks Rich!
Also super impressive one haded connector releases, really shows how experienced you are brother!
LOVE When you do these Detailed How Too's!!!
It pays to watch till the end. Thanks for showing the tools you used and part number. Thumbs up on this
You just saved me hours! Got the dash pulled off and part replaced in about 50 minutes!
Very helpful! Thank you so much. God Bless.

Yep it hurts
Sir you were 200% correct I unplugged the egr on the 2003 Lincoln town car and it ran so much better thank u I love you honesty your the best

Great info! This looks so much easier that expected.
I replaced the actuator in my Mercury a year ago and it was a super bitch!

I remember years ago doing this on my daughters Passat. Main reason I hate dealing with interior trim.

Yea I’ve got to replace mine in the 07 gt. I took the glove box out don’t seem to be too bad just a tight fit
Awesome video !
Great video
I had to do that on my town and country ugg pain in the ass but I got it learned from experience took me 40 minutes.
I did one yesterday. Mitchell Prodemand has pretty much the same procedure.
I didn't need a procedure, I seen other guys to all kinds of wild shit and I was like nope not me

I learned this the hard way on my 2010 Taurus

Excellent
Lol my old Fiesta had this problem often. Thank God my ranger and escape don't have it...... yet

Have to have it diagnosed to make sure the HVAC control module is good first
Plenum actuator? Had to do this on my ranger and my 150 Needed a Chiropractor after each.
Lmao. What year ranger?
2008 Dealer wanted 300.00 plus parts. I bought the actuator for 42.00 Chiropractor 600.00
@@rrobins9857 lmaoooo that's hilarious
GM actuators have the same troubles.
A few more dollars spent building the actuator could greatly reduce the failure rate.
Well doodie I hope it's not the left one. But on the driver's side I get hot or cold air. The passenger side just stays cold
Is that a ecoboost?
Same way I pull that bad boiii out.
What does it mean if I unplug the actuator keeps clicking
Explain more
I wish mine was on the top. The one that’s messing up for me is driver side. The dreaded bottom one.
Did this on the 10 raptor, never fixed my problem still got no AC on passenger side it blows max heat only
Could be a hvac module replacement issue
what happen to your side shop?
Where you been? I still have it lol

I have this exact problem on my 2009 f150…

Hickory, dickory, doc.
I smell Dorman! Just like Chevrolet I've replaced all 3 on the wife's car more then once.
"let's get it dude" you been eaten some gumbo??
Lol you know what's up

I see it the same way... If I see a 90k truck I'm thinking that's it's got quality parts, and will last me forever. Not the case in some cases
I hate the temp ones on top.
What part number for on top? 2011 f150 and can’t get heat on driver’s side lariat. Please let me know
