I couldn't spot the piece of debris that caused the hangup, but man, that was rough to see Emulsifier just... not be able to move after giving Malice's frame what-for. Matt looks like he needs a hug after that one -- someone give him one from the fans next time you see him.
Unfortunate that you're 0-2, but both of them were very "good losses." So they likely won't hurt your bracket chances as much as going 0-2 normally would.
I think at this point even if they go 1-3, they deserve a spot in the bracket. They really do. Hopefully they can make it 2-2 though for better seeding.
And what's crazy is apparently Emulsifier never hit that bent part: the energy went through the frame like a Newton's Cradle, popped the nuts off and pinged the frame up
I saw the shiny bits on both the back corners when it was vertical, before getting "right-side up", and then the right-hand side of the drive spinning without touching the floor. But I assumed the shiny bits were the corners of the bottom armor damaged and bent into the floor, which was elevating the back-side and keeping it from moving. I didn't think about it being debris picked up by magnets... Maybe rethink the magnets? No good to have your own stuff cause a high-center like that! Like others have said though, 2 losses is never good BUT, you've dominated in both of them and only lost due to unfortunate circumstances. Y'all know how the other two (and hopefully more?) fights went and we will within a couple of weeks. I hope to see Emulsifier fight for at LEAST another 4 more!
yeah I felt very bad for that fight and felt I jinxed it which made it worse but I am confident your gonna get a first win in your next fight against Banshee and what happened seems similar to what happened to Monsoon against Black Dragon to me
Who wins? 1) one 250lbs combat robot 2) one bolty boi Not just Emulsifier, we now have Endgame and Monsoon where the weapon just stopped from ingesting debris and a ton of bots getting stuck in just 4 episodes, kinda shows how destructive these bots are now when there is so much debris getting thrown around and bots just not being able to deal with it. When I saw Emulsifier crab/gyro walking after that last big hit I went oh no don't get near the wall! And Emulsifier got stuck :(. Not on the wall as I thought but on a piece of shrapnel. Again, not a loss to be ashamed off (considering rip Malice) but again a disappointing result for a fight that if things went just a tiny bit differently, would've been a convincing win. This is getting to almost Danby levels of cursed matches, I really hope Emulsifier can at least get a single W this season. The bot works so well (aside from the spinner issues at the start of the first match) yet still nothing to show for it from what is basically bad luck.
Although we lost this one, we like the lack of ambiguity of the new rule. We messed up at the end. It is what it is. We feel it's better this way than having refs try to determine live if something is or isn't controlled.
Not happening. People were complaining before about what constitutes “transitional movement”, so Battlebots came up with the simple solution that if there’s movement then it’s still alive. They’re not going back.
A wise man once said, "Sometimes it just be like that." If this were a boxing match, it wouldn't even be a question that Malice won. They were stumbling around, while the other guy was out cold on the mat. It's definitely an unsatisfying win for Malice, but that is the nature of combat robotics. If you don't have at least one win per event that makes you feel ashamed that you won the match, that means you probably didn't win a single fight at the event.
And I love how usually there's a memoriam for parts, but here it's just Malice. No parts, just Malice.

That damage is insane. Especially considering how durable malice Is

I hope they take a look at the stupid mobility rule again. Malice wasn't able to do anything anymore.should have been a double ko.

Now it's not ambiguous. This is a much better way to go at it. Other events have this too.
