I like to solder leads in my castle products so i can use latching connectors somewhere up the chain. ive had bullets come out once and I said never again
Another brilliant breakdown team; absolute nightmare scenario draw but you put up a great fight and took a lot of those meaty HUGE hits. Looking forward to seeing the other side have a go next week and of course the upcoming fight with Beta!
Those motor wires need to be soldered to the ESCs!!!! I'm extremely surprised that you guys are using bullet connectors and not direct soldering them. The only thing with a brushless motor that I would trust bullets on would be a scale crawler, everything else (FPV drones, planes, helis, 1/10 touring cars, 1/8 buggys, monster trucks, bashers, and definitely combat robots) deserves/needs to be direct soldered. Also castle is pretty "meh" so I'm not surprised to see those motor failures, but at least they are not brushed LMAO.
Thank you for sharing these and detailing it so well! Always an incredible insight to see up close battle damage, and have the builder comment on how hardware faired both good/bad! Cant wait till the next match!
that was a hell of a fight, and a insanely difficult target to fight with a hammer bot! crazy how well that billet held up too Also that bar is titanium MY LORD
Yeah when I saw those hits it was pretty apparent that frame was going to be toast. However the damage wasn't nearly as bad as it looked considering Shatter just got flipped all over the place. When you then whacked the wheel pole/balance bar off I was cheering so hard to for you to get HUGE stuck on its side, but that was sadly a bridge too far. Also that shot of Shatter in the testbox absolutely annihilating some wood before the fight was incredibly satisfying to see. Next match is going to be wild, two of the best hammers in the sport going head to head. Can't wait for the next episode and (in retrospect) good luck!
It's never a good thing when a glamour-bot or techno-bot like Shatter! is matched against a spinner. It's a bit like dropping Mike Tyson into an industrial shredder: a complete mismatch. I know it gives the BattleBots selection peeps a good laugh, but it's not big and it's not clever. I want to see matches that make sense, not money. Three cheers for anything that's not a d*mn spinner.🙂
I'd rather these videos than the other 90% of the fluff that goes into the show. I think the watchers want to know exactly what kind of damage happened almost as must as watching the battle itself.
IT was a HUGE beating
I love that you do these breakdowns so much. I get why they don't do a damage recap on the show, but I could watch stuff like this all day.

Damn that's some impressive damage from HUGE. Thanks for sharing this all, excellent behind the scenes documenting!
Yep keep me as far away from HUGE as possible

Instead of that oversized hack knife, Shatter should’ve used its sharp hammer.
Man!.. They always kill off your favorite character. I was really rooting for that ESC
Despite the loss, I appreciate that at least HUGE got some few damages and almost tilted it to the side.
Thank you for these breakdowns! Getting insight on the fights from the teams is at least as much fun as the fights.

Man, that was a rough match. Shatter put up a great fight!
you guys had an amazing fight
Wow, thank you for this . I will surely be seeing these. What's the name of that memorial piano piece

That was not a fight for Shatter. You next fight will be better Adam. C’mon. Put Shatter back together.

Huge is designed to exploit traditional bot designs. So design a tool that can exploit their design. No shame in it. You're only playing their game.

ngl this was a pretty unfair match
Oooof....
