God this song is so good. Glad comments are still allowed here. This album is amazing. Guys I don't mean to brag but I'm going to see him finally in August and it is the greatest thing in my life right now. I am seriously getting through each day at my two "essential" jobs thinking, well, in a few months I'll be happier than I've ever been. Sorry I just had to say that. I'm so grateful Morrissey exists and still is making music like this.
@@johnnymeyer4253 It was amazing! For that brief time he was playing, I forgot all my problems. I think I wrote that comment in 2021. We went in summer 2022 also. Both years were the best concerts I've ever been to, though 2022 was even better, he did so many songs I love. I'm praying he comes back this August...he'll be in the UK in July, and mentioned Israel in July also, but I'm still holding out hope for August.. 🤞🤞🤞
@@glortw Yeah I ve been to about 25 shows over the years since 1991...he is great live, there is no one like him thats for sure. havent been in awhile but met him a oouple times always briefly. One of a kind this one....much peace....JM
5:13 why wont he make music like this anymore? WHY? Can't he see that all we need is his voice, his emotion ... and a guitar. We dont need beat samples, programmed bass, hip hop textures, etc in an attempt to be "modern." Morrissey, come back to us. "The War Goes On," we need you.
Morrissey is one of the only musical artists who I can say for sure is relevant to the people. His songs touch emotionally in different ways. Lost love, feeling lost, confused, but also angry towards the world. As someone who is completely sick of the world and the people running it. Morrissey comes out in 2017 with an album that attacks the manipulative mass media, government officials that run the wars, and corrupt leaders. I don’t agree with him on everything, but damn he speaks for the people.
Yes. Very sad, thinking of how an elderly couple would be saying this to each other as their son was killed in a meaningless war to enrich the bloodthirsty trillionaires who run this world.
That's a hard argument. I think the original musicians he started off with his solo career are much better than what he has now. Buz is now too fat to perform well.
@@henryprzepiorka8239 Don't say it's miles better, I think they're vastly different, vastly. There's also a very big difference between Morrissey's solo albums while the Smiths albums were very pretty similar to each other. Morrissey didn't really compose any of the music in the Smiths, he just made the lyrics and accompanied it with the best vocals I've heard in my life, so yeah, I wouldn't say the two are really comparable.
This is the very same excitement as waiting at the record store so long ago for each new 7" single of Viva Hate. This song, in particular, sounds so reminiscent of that time.
Morrissey this song and all the other tracks on Low in high school proves that you are the most relevant artist in the music industry. I have been a massive fan of you for many many years and I'm more of a fan now than I have ever been.
hmmm almost agreed with u but than there are I'm not a man, art hounds and earth is the loneliest planet those for me are in the levels we are talking about :D
I simply can't understand why this album gets such negative reviews but previous one was praised. This is defintely not worse, it's better if anything.
It's called a media witch hunt because he has opinions and voices them and if the reviewer doesn't agree they trash the album no matter how good it is.

Greetings from Oz! Glad to see you're releasing your new material on UA-cam, even though I've paid for a digital copy. Don't let a bad experience in Brisbane stop you from playing here next time you're in Oz, Moz; I swear we've grown up a lot since the 90's and I spent thousands travelling to Sydney to see you at the opera house in 2015. You let a lot of us down in 1991, playing Brisbane, then skipping SYDNEY. Who can stay mad at Moz for long though? XO
the official track from the album of probably best songwriter about love gets only maybe 200K views in 2 years. I think this shows that the new generation does not understand or value love.
from my first listen to this NEW song i like it. Very political but hey! Morrissey does politics very well as people know! musically it is excellent. I will be purchasing the Axe the monarchy lp 😁
This is a great album. I prefer it to the last one. I'm a great believer of each to their own, but to say he hasn't done any good albums in years is ignorence.
I remember so much hate on this song when it came out. People totally misinterpreted it imo as an attack on the military (though it is anti war), it feels just another character study type song about a thug who chose war as a way to do terrible things without repercussion and the governments glee in allowing them to do their bidding. It’s Literally in the opening refrain. Some people probably do join the army to handle a gun… not to say all do. It’s a great song that I hope will be properly reassessed some day.

Leave it to Morrissey to say the thing I have nowhere near the guts to say. I'm in awe of him.
I agree. Help the Hero’s? What hero’s..
Well said.
What a piece of art. A real artist
💯
fits perfectly to the current moment
Morrissey went full punk rock in this album with an Oscar Wilde wig. Simply amazing
The shift into the outro is Morrissey at his ironic best. Beautiful melody too.
Yes. Very sad, thinking of how an elderly couple would be saying this to each other as their son was killed in a meaningless war to enrich the bloodthirsty trillionaires who run this world.
5:12 its beautiful voice again, reminds so much
of the old smiths
Miles better than the Smiths
I keep on listening to this part of the song again and again... I just can't stop...

No one does ominous and sinister as powerfully as Morrissey.

yes, quarry is so good, I listen to that more than any other still.
That doesn't sound like much of a compliment.

Me and my cat (who happens to be called morrissey;)) love the new album so much:)
your cat actually thinks Morrissey is a racist.
Love the crickets at the start it sounds like Dave Haslam's birthday party
I simply can't understand why this album gets such negative reviews but previous one was praised. This is defintely not worse, it's better if anything.
Rolling Stone put a 3.5/5 on it, not too shabby
Talk about damning with faint praise.
It's called a media witch hunt because he has opinions and voices them and if the reviewer doesn't agree they trash the album no matter how good it is.
Maybe it's not that good? Not everyone is out to get Morrissey.
obviously he target the mainstream media, i'm not surprise by then cryin' about this
This whole album is pretty great from top to bottom.
As a morrissey fan, that’s not true
I agree, great from start to end. Most all Mozzer albums are....no one like him that's for sure. A true original.
Another masterpiece!
This song is kind of powerful.
This track is beyond amazing
Seen Morrissey in Glasgow at the weekend. He was absolutely amazing!
This is what Mo is like when he takes the gloves off.
Wow, concept, simply genius - art
Go on Mozza lad!!!!!!
certainly his best album in the last few years.
