Lol thank you! I was just about to post “major Church vibes!” Funny how you say these are the best type of songs for you. I feel the same. I call this sound “a mood I’m always in”.
This and “Hi Hello” are His best solo songs to date IMO. Has that Beautiful Smiths jangle, melody, & feel. This is right in Johnnys wheelhouse. Well done good sir.
Johnny is carving out quite the solo career! Stunning melodies and beautiful, chiming guitars that combine with atmospheric synthesizers and Johnny's surprising, sturdy vocals.....guy can do no wrong-has a gift for creating majestic tunes that soar above the madness and monotony!

Not a lot of people know this, but, it has always been Mr. Marr's job to sort things out. Seriously. Check it out. If it wasn't for him, The Smiths would not have lasted five months, let alone the five years they did. Anyhow. Here is Mr. Marr soothing the souls of old fans of The Smiths - who really ought to know better because - Morrissey's always been like that. Always. Anybody claiming otherwise just did not have their eyes open fully. Nevermind. Doesn't mean you cannot enjoy The Smiths any longer because, that is just ridiculous. I have all the LP's. What difference does it make (smirk) whether I play them or not? Exactly.
I am more in love with Johnny more than I ever was with Morrissey. F that guy. Marr is the fractalization afterglow of enlightenment from the adolescent dark state the Morrissey still represent and never grew from. Seem Marr’s purpose was for the Smiths to actually get off the ground and last so Morrissey can spew his negativity within the beautiful framing Marr provided. He’s never grown up, meanwhile Marr is revealing himself as the ground from which all the generations of our teen angst got embraced, processed and now, let go.
Genius!!! Aw man, I'm in that bus station most days! Why is he there only that once? What a LEGEND. Johnny, you just DO NOT write bad tunes and melodies man!
Mr. Marr has just punched his own ticket as a great solo act. These songs, the craft and production are amazing - it's a classic album right when the world could use one. Thanks JM and beautifully done, we can savor the memory of your past work(s) in light of this fantastic new one - would it be too much to hope for more someday?
Good old Johnny, still looking every inch the rock star, and sounding better than ever. (Where ya been hding that voice man? ) Great vid too, Ardwick boys rule!

You make poetry with your guitar
This song has an "Under the Milky Way" vibe, and these are the best type of songs to me. Keep It going Marr!

Bem notado!
I think, it's more "There is a light.....".
A intro lembra mesmo The Church - Under the Milky Way

What's another one or two you'd recommend?
Saw him last year as an opening act for The Killers. I would've paid just as much to see him. 4
As soon as the first chords start, you know something magic is going to happen.

The king of melody
Yes!! And Noel gallagher
Yeah gotta love Noel G 👍
His vocals are atmospheric and perfect.
Marr has such a unique approach to melody and phrasing with his playing . He’s a great player
He doesn't need to try to be cool....He's Johnny Marr...
He is one of the most talented musicians and his backup band is amazing. Always puts on a great show
I’m starting to believe Marr made better music than Morrissey
We bit late you've got it ^^ but doesn't matter, it's so absolutely truuuuuuuue. 💞🥰
Your being ridiculous morrissey has an incredible solo back catalogue.
The Smiths =music Marr...lyrics Miorrissey

One of his best solo works IMO. VERY good feel and tune, his vocal performance hit the spot too on this one.
***** estou de acordo das musicas do marr esta e a mais conceguida em todos os aspectos

left school for poetry, formed a band with Morrissey
Johnny Marr wrote most all of the chords for the Smiths, while Morrissey wrote the lyrics.
Left Mr Morrisey - result :)
man sing that out
Yer a regular poet, Dr Duke !
All have a poem in Life
Marr has a kind of gentle Lou Reed voice and that's a good thing.
OMG, this music's got such a true British vibe to it! Absolutely love this atmosphere, the guitar, his voice and the whole bloody thing!
Exactly
i saw Johnny Marr live in Sydney last night. This song was awesome. The whole gig was smashing. What a legend. I feel lucky...

Oh yes. It´s so attractive, so smooth
So lucky I got to see Johnny Marr live!
Not only is he one the greatest guitarist in history, the gentleman can write some amazing lyrics, too!
The best song of the 21st century so far.
+Steiner Fran You're right...I just checked Rolling Stones top 10,000 songs of the "Century" and this was listed at number 1.
Rolling Stone is a corporate magazine and you have no soul. go fuck yourself, you primate.
I was being sarcastic...I don't give a damn about Rolling Stone.
As myself.
you stole my words. .😕.I ' d like tô write this, but i' d say "one of the greatest songs of the 21st century. .... (cause of U2..👏)
The production on this track is perfect, I specially love the sound of the drums and the bass
Same feeling and FX as The Church “Starfish” album
You're a fucking genious Marr.
Wow!! Great song.
Es lo más cabròn que ha sonado en mucho tiempo, las guitarras clásicas nunca morirán, nostalgia y pulcritud en cada nota.
Walking thru what we know
Beautiful melody
Brilliant!
great tune.

“ This is vintage classic melodic arpeggio driven pop rock at it’s best.”
Looks like he stole "The Railway Children's 1988 hit "A Pleasure"'s guitar riff.
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
Almost 50 and producing music like this? You genius Johnny!
Marr have reached a level where no one thought it's possible... to create music from thinking instead of emotional, holy cow
Good Indie Performance

Great record, great songs, perfect production. Another Johnny Marr classic.
