Glad to see you got your hands on this underrated Casio! I was so impressed by it, I chose it as my contender for the ‘$100 Watch Challenge’. I actually got mine used for $40 - insane value. Don’t think it’s going to be underrated anymore now that you’ve reviewed it 😉
haha! It depends if the video goes up in the upcoming hours. $40? that's a killer deal! I think this is super solid for a 100$ challenge, super solid! Cheers!
I encourage you to check out the more recently released EFB-108D. It comes in a white dial (7AV) and a black dial (1AV). It is a 42mm watch that wears like a 41/42 and the bracelet is spectacular. Might be able to swap out the bracelet on it for the watch you bought. I own the white dial and I love it.
This has been my daily beater for the last 3-4 years. Wear it every day for work and it has taken everything that I’ve thrown at it. Where G-SHOCKs in the past have been bulky and in the way, I hardly notice that I’m wearing this one. The bracelet and clasp is scratched up beyond recognition. But the dial and case, still spot on. Great watch for me considering the £80 I spent on it. Highly recommend it for anyone that works in construction that needs to get their hands in tight spaces. All the best Ali
Have one, love it. It's my favorite analog quartz watch. Sapphire crystal, clean looks, decent integrated brac and... The seconds hand hits the indices! Also, amazongly, the screws outside the bezel all point in perfectly perpendicular to the dial. If Seiko tried this, those groves in the screws would all be pointing in different directions. 🤦🏼 Edit: I really like how slim and light the watch is... It really does disappear on-wrist
Bought mine in January as my first watch, it was between this and the prx, and ultimately I got the edifice being cheaper and with sapphire glass so I can wear it anywhere without having to worry about it. After some time I started to like it even more.
Wow- if they did a bit more of an upscale version of this with a representative bracelet, maybe as part of their Oceanus range with the multi-band 6 and titanium, I'd be all over it. Great video!
The Edifice line is a very good choice for those young (or not so young) people who want something that looks more solid than a simple digital Casio (which I like and wear a lot too) and don't want to spend a lot nor to deal with the mechanics. The one I used for years was a homage to Carrera. It hits the markers perfectly, better then my other quartz pieces like Timex. My Edifice and a classic G square were the only 2 watches I reallly needed and used for a very long time. Should I mention they still work fine after all these years, I just changed their batteries a few times.
Bought the EFR-S108D-1AVUEF yesterday, watch strap just feels a bit cheap. I first wanted an Edifice ECB-900DB or an EFR-556DB with all the bells and whistles. But found this one a bit more chic and still sporty. Hope they make another watch like this, but a little bigger and more luxurious watch strap. Love this watch and at this price you can't fault it (€100 in the Netherlands)
You are very cool at showing the clock! Video quality, light at a very high level! Any watch will looks amazing ! I hope that they also look good in everyday life 😀
Yes, Ben's Watch Club had reviewed this watch (and maybe a few non-English reviewers), but it has been really slept on. It's got the basic specs of: Japanese quartz watch in 316L, flat sapphire, 100M WR, but also the attention to detail of : date complication matches the black dial, second hand hits the second markers dead-on - and it's ~$100. It's actually the first and only sports watch I own, and I've had it for a maybe two years now. Every time I see a video about "Is this the REAL Casio Oak???" I always have to laugh and think about how Casio Edifice already made a non-bulky, non-plastic, "moonshine" version that isn't overpriced, but no one knows...
It's really very nice. I don't normally like the octagonal case motif but this one works.I also think the movement of the second hand is appealing and the the general dislike for it mystifies me. Perhaps it's herd mentality.
Oh I need to see this in person. I love the Edifice line, I snagged a Red Bull Racing Edifice on ebay last year for $90, it’s one of the coolest watches I’ve got and always gets compliments. I wish they would do another Edifice dive watch.
These are fantastic design and specs for the price. I would love to see non-metal strap options as well. My main complaint about the entire edifice line might sound trivial: the logo. It’s too big and lopsided to the point where it’s distracting and throws off the balance of the dial. That said, I’d still get one if there were better strap options.
You should have followers welllll into the six figures. You continually do an outstanding job whether you’re talking about $120 watches or $120K watches. Keep up the stellar work sir! 😊
The first watch I bought with money from my first salary from the first job I got after graduating college… was an Edifice. Still have it today. Amazing piece!
I bought the watch presented in the video. The very similar efb-s108 from casio has a superior bracelet. I hope that casio will maybe sell those separately at some point to upgrade my watch.
Casio S108D is best watch in history for price under 300$, price is 120$, yes we all pay more 150-170$ for better bracelet but, wow it have 7.8 mm thickness and look so good like its from space
thats actually pretty impressive for a sub $100 Casio with sapphire crystal that has the PRX style to it. Would probably be a great watch with a different strap.
I am SO glad that you highlighted this watch! I saw it some months ago and wondered why no one seemed to be aware of it! I might have to invest in one myself!
This watch didn't so much fly under my radar but seemed to burrow under my house. This watch has got so many things right. For the watch head I think it has the PRX beat but as a complete package with the integrated bracelet it's a lot closer. I'm both a Casio fan and I love Tissot so it would have to come down to trying both but I think the Edifice has the edge.
Bought this watch and I think it's great 6 months in. I've been looking to buy another watch but it's hard to find something I would prefer to wear than the Casio for under $500 before the Seikos Hamiltons and Christopher Wards become available.
it has a bigger brother that's solar-powered, efs-s570d-1a. I have the JDM version of it and it has solid end links and milled clasp compared to the other worldwide version that's folded end links and stamped clasp
In a recent TMWC vid about a five watch collection for $1000, I picked the Edifice EQB-1100 (basically this with chrono/tachy, date & bluetooth) as my sport/travel option. A brushed, integrated-bracelet, sporty oakalike with world time in 8.9mm for ~$300? Yes please!
Someone should make a high quality, solid link, bracelet for this watch. If it's possible for the Casio Royale, it should be possible for this one too! Let's be honest, I'm not the only one who would buy it. :D
You should take a look at the Edifice EFB-108D-7AV. Simialr Genta-esque design aesthetics and more similar to PRX. It has a better bracelet almost good as the PRX (just misses out on with stamped clasp but better fit compared to the butterfly clasp on the PRX) and similar dimensions to this Edifice you reviewed. The Quartz module on the Casios are just better when it come to hitting the markers. I returned two PRX quartz because of how badly the hands were off the markers and third time got a decent one but still misses markers closer to 12-3.
Hey there, there is actually a somewhat updated version of this watch in the model CASIO EDIFICE EFB-108D-1A/7A but sadly for some come it comes at a larger case diameter of 47mm, but im pretty sure the bracelet is a bit of an upgrade, not a mild clasp though, you might look into them
I own this 108d and it's a 42mm case. The lug to lug is below 48mm and it wears incredibly well.the bracelet is much much better*the clasp is mediocre like all edifice and cheap casios*...got it on the silvery/white dial and it looks great.
same here. Wears like a 41/42mm watch. If you measure it from the outside of the crown to the other side of the case that has wings it measures 46mm but doesn’t wear that big.

Nice watch especially at the price point. I think the prx looks better with the thinner indexes and a better bracelet but I'm biased because I own one. @BraveBeaters Idk how Casio got the bracelet on this one so bad especially when they nailed it on the EFB-108D-1AV. Have you seen that one yet. If they just took the bracelet from that model and put it on this one and expanded the range of dial colors the prx in quartz would be a non contender…
Absolutely loved this review! You’re so right! The Edifice has been UNFAIRLY ignored!

Definitely getting an Edifice as my finally watch of 2023. Underrated, reliable, and a bit cheaper than the Bulova’s I’ve been eying.
