Thanks for the video. I just found your channel. I understand the need for a "spacer" piece where the two pieces of grating are joined but it looks like you also added another "spacer". Why is that? Do you find any drooping down of the metal grate?
The middle gives it more support as that were the two separate grates come together. If you can found 1 metal grate that the size of your work area that would be the best way to go.
Galvanized metal does have the potential for off gassing zinc etc. That said I'm comfortable using this cutting bed with the caveat of having good ventilation and not trying to etch, cut or burn the metal directly
Great video. However, I'm unclear with the purpose of the black paper that you called a template. How do you use it? Your video does not show the finished product. It shows the black paper (template) being cut, but it ends before you explain how it is used.
The black paper is a cut out that is the same dimensions as the items your engraving or cutting. As I mentioned you use that (paper) to align your material in the same spot each time for consistency
@@YourCouchsucks Thanks. Can you show me a picture of what it looks like? I imagine you have four squares and you can place your objects in one or all of the squares. Am I on the right track?
@@kevinmorgan1605 exactly square or circle or whatever. You cut that into your paper line your design etch or cut up inside the same number of squares or circles in the lightburn or other software You can push the button to do more than one at a time
I know that three dowels will hold the raised bed in place, but for a fourth, why not put one in the homing corner, but cut it flush with the top instead of letting it stick up? I may be missing a detail that would negate my idea, though.
Thanks for this, very enjoyable, informative and the end product is cheap & effective. So I'm going to make one ☺
Happy to hear!
You guy’s are going to have to go on without me, I don’t think I’m going to make it. Now where’s my remote control ?… 🤣
Are you using your laser to make money? Whats your favorite projects to do?
Let me know if you build up one of these and how it works for you
Nice idea Easy and inexpensive
Cheers
Yes sir! Works well and cheap enough to replace when it get s messed up with laser burning biproducts etc!

Thank you for the comments certainly many things to learn with this video production stuff!
@@YourCouchsucks I fully agree with John, but please keep making videos. :-)
@@SJagneaux thank you certainly learning as a go and appreciate the feedback
Or simply get rid of it, it adds nothing to the video.
I think i need one…doesn’t the galvanized metal out gas???

Only rwall need a dowel in two corners. I leave it stick out a bit as it easier to pull it out and find and line up with the hole in the base
I hope UA-cam develops an AI to filter out background music
Thank you for the comment
I know this is redundant , but top 10 WORST MUSIC in yt video. The idea though is very good. No music.
hard to hear you talking with the music, Giving you a thumbs down because of that!
Thank you appreciate the feedback
The obnoxious music is NEVER needed for these kinds of videos...Fyi.
What were you cutting at the end? Some sort of clue would have been good.
As I mentioned at the begining plywood and in the case 3mm balic birch which is the bulk of what I cut and sell
@@YourCouchsucks The black stuff?
