Band Maid is a juggernaut in the world of Rock n' Roll. I grew up in the 60's and 70's with the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who and the Rolling Stones. These girls match these iconic bands with their writing, showmanship and overall talent. They are a perfect example of everything being done right. God bless these ladies for saving Rock n' Roll as we know it.

All excelent bands but in my heart I prefer Band-Maid, because I do not think they are gereric J-Rock Band. There are genuine sofistication in songwriting, evolution of the band and band members. And for me every record is better thand previous one since Brand New Maid days.

I just went back and listened to the part during the bass solo. It's surprisingly complex and I think it really adds a meatiness to the song that I couldn't pinpoint before.

Just ran into a older gentleman tonight at a trivia event in my town wearing a BAND-MAID shirt. I didn't think anyone in my town knew who they were, but this guy certainly knew! Two dudes from different generations made friends over a band from another country that sings in a language we can't understand. Cheers, BAND-MAID for bridging that gap from 7000 miles away! :)
That's what I had anticipated years ago (that most members would evolve into their own outfits preferences, while Miku, as the only one who has a real reason to dress as a maid, would keep her own rendition of a traditional maid outfit) and that's the smartest way to do it I think.

I was thinking she had Chris Squire vibe going, but I'm actually leaning towards Roger Glover. Both are pickers. Geddy is great as well, but he mainly plucks. Rogers' solos sound like this one. And Deep Purple have had a big influence in Japan.
@@chesterstewartdrawers5149 Agree, but MISA is on another level. I grew up learning to playing guitar in the 70s, listening to Deep Plurple amongst other hardrock bands of the time. Today I play bass, and MISA is my inspiration.
I've watched this video many times over the past six days. Every time I watch it I see something new. Truly an amazing performance. I first saw them live in 2017 at a small venue in Osaka with maybe 150-200 people. Since then I've seen them several more times. Now look at that big crowd. What an amazing journey for them, and us.
I love Miku's guitar support during the duel! She did some great guitar stings in the "Don't You Tell Me" duel too! And of course, Misa Misa Misa! Mincho Mincho Mincho! There was some true Mincho Mode happening in this solo. This is another banger! And I'm glad to have watched it live streaming in November and now live with the band in the chat on this premier! I love BAND-MAID!
During the bass/guitar battle I concentrated on listening to Akane's drumming and man, she is right on top of it and in perfect synch throughout the performance. That's really incredible given how fast and difficult this sequence is and the natural tendency to speed the rhythm up they progress through the not just double solo, but the intertwined performance of bass, guitars, and drums. I already love Akane's playing and this just goes above and beyond!.
A great master class for the degenerates who howl that decent metal songs are incompatible with amazing bass playing. Great job, Band-Mate, Keep Rockin'!

Bravo, pienamente d'accordo. Avevo letto, non ricordo dove, che loro vorrebbero venire in Europa, ma il problema principale sono gli spostamenti, tra costi documenti e permessi, è complicato. Negli USA invece è tutto più semplice. Spero che ora con la popolarità in aumento e che meritano di avere, possano venire anche da noi.

There’s still a roughness to the Lollapalooza performance that I love, and it has that classic rock festival feel, as if Band Maid were at Woodstock, but this is a better video overall.
It's the paradox of being a maidiacs, we know what the song is about, but seeing our maids having fun on stage just makes us smile all the way through.

と改めて実感しました。
コンパクトに、考え抜かれた、決して冗長になることのないソロとバトル。
曲も短いけれど、それでいて充実した密度の濃い構成と演奏。まさにみんちょ天才。

私はHR/HMのファンでもあり､ 長年のジャズファンでもありますが、今日のジャズの衰退は楽曲の中盤から即興演奏をやりすぎて一体この曲は何の曲をやっているんだ？となります。
そこには手癖が出るのでいつも 似たり寄ったりのインプロ(即興)でその時点で飽きてしまう！せっかく素晴らしい前半があるのに後半が始まるまで一体この曲は何の曲だっけと考えてしまうことが、ジャズの衰退の 1 つの原因だと私は考えています。その点！遠乃歌波さんはよく考えられて作られていると思います。即興に見えて数多くのバリエーションを取り揃えています。2018年 Zepp Tokyoのライブ映像を見るとよくわかると思います。

BAND−MAIDを好きになってから、HR/HMの楽曲をたくさん聞くようになりHR/HMの歴史的なことも学びましたが、日本人の評論家や一部のファンのコメントの中には原理主義的で遠い昔に価値づけられたものにしか価値を見出せない、HR/HMの雑誌に書いてあること以外は全く受け付けない、狭いコミュニティがあることに大変嫌悪感を感じました。

バンドメイド初めて聴いたのがスリルって曲でその時は全然刺さらなくてずっと存在を知ってるだけで聴いてなかったけど今回オススメで流れてきてなんとなく聴いてみたらカッコ良過ぎて鳥肌たった。

これは本当に凄いや。彼女たちの曲って、キャッチーなコーラスとか必ず入れてる割に全く歌謡ロックに聴こえないのなんでだろう？判官贔屓かな。最近のミンチョの音が大好きで、私が好きなギタリストを挙げるとすると、先ずDuane AllmanとMike Bloomfieldがいるんだけど、最近の彼女の音がシャープでクリア、且つ迫力のある、この2人の音にちょっと似てきてると感じてる。

ソロといえば通常インプロヴィゼーションがもてはやされていたし、バトルとかデュエルといえば対決ということになるが、バックのドラムも含めて、このバンドのソロは、演者が好き勝手をやっているわけではなく、全て計算されたアンサンブルの中でのソロであるというのが特徴で、正に10年間一緒にやってきて、お互いに信頼し合っているバンドのソロであり、バトルと感じる。まあ、1970年代とは違って、延々とインプロヴィゼーションを続ける演奏が好まれるとは思わないけど。
全く同感です。メリハリのあるAKANEのドラムや途中から入ってくるMIKUのギターも全てアンサンブルで、
これ見よがしにテクニカルに走るだけのソロパートとは違い、曲全体の構成を考えた素晴らしいパートと
なっています。
調和と完成度を重んじるみんちょの美意識、仲間意識からすると、
好き勝手なインプロビゼーションはBAND-MAIDには似合わない、ということだと思います。

子供の頃からずっと洋楽派で、50過ぎてバンメに激ハマり😅国内ガールズバンドに2．3ライバルと目されてるメタルバンドがあるが、楽曲制作の点なので圧倒的に差がある。もはや、国内に比較できるバンドはない、いなくても影響ないメンバーがなく、誰か1人欠けてもバンメじゃなくなる点が歴史的に見たって稀有なバンド。

Misa is like Geddy Lee. She’s not just there to be the low end, she adds to the song and it wouldn’t be the same without her.
I was getting a Chris Squire vibe, but Geddy's a good comp as well.
I was thinking she had Chris Squire vibe going, but I'm actually leaning towards Roger Glover. Both are pickers. Geddy is great as well, but he mainly plucks. Rogers' solos sound like this one. And Deep Purple have had a big influence in Japan.
@@chesterstewartdrawers5149 Agree, but MISA is on another level. I grew up learning to playing guitar in the 70s, listening to Deep Plurple amongst other hardrock bands of the time. Today I play bass, and MISA is my inspiration.

I've watched this video many times over the past six days. Every time I watch it I see something new. Truly an amazing performance. I first saw them live in 2017 at a small venue in Osaka with maybe 150-200 people. Since then I've seen them several more times. Now look at that big crowd. What an amazing journey for them, and us.

I love Miku's guitar support during the duel! She did some great guitar stings in the "Don't You Tell Me" duel too! And of course, Misa Misa Misa! Mincho Mincho Mincho! There was some true Mincho Mode happening in this solo. This is another banger! And I'm glad to have watched it live streaming in November and now live with the band in the chat on this premier! During the bass/guitar battle I concentrated on listening to Akane's drumming and man, she is right on top of it and in perfect synch throughout the performance. That's really incredible given how fast and difficult this sequence is and the natural tendency to speed the rhythm up they progress through the not just double solo, but the intertwined performance of bass, guitars, and drums. I already love Akane's playing and this just goes above and beyond!.

Bravo, pienamente d'accordo. Avevo letto, non ricordo dove, che loro vorrebbero venire in Europa, ma il problema principale sono gli spostamenti, tra costi documenti e permessi, è complicato. Negli USA invece è tutto più semplice. Spero che ora con la popolarità in aumento e che meritano di avere, possano venire anche da noi.
@@brunodistaso sul fatto che vogliano tornare a suonare in Europa, non credo ci siano dubbi... ma penso che, difficoltà logistiche o no, per il momento preferiscano andare sul sicuro e stare tra oriente e Usa, ormai è assodato che ovunque in quelle zone riescano a riempire le sale senza difficoltà e, avendo già i contatti giusti, con poche rogne organizzative (promoter, trasporti, documenti ecc.). Detto fuori dai denti, credo che ora Miku e socie stiano mungendo le vacche grasse, dopo aver visto periodi di vacche magre da 10 anni a questa parte (tra difficoltà degli inizi, Covid ecc.)... è comprensibile ... per il 2024 mettiamoci l'anima in pace direi.

Lollapalooza was important for the Maids because it woke up some Americans. Not the video director, but _some_ Americans!
There’s still a roughness to the Lollapalooza performance that I love, and it has that classic rock festival feel, as if Band Maid were at Woodstock, but this is a better video overall.
It's the paradox of being a maidiacs, we know what the song is about, but seeing our maids having fun on stage just makes us smile all the way through.
After seeing them live twice, each time, I was massaging my cheeks because I couldn't stop smiling.
