You see other drummers exhausted, but playing their best ... and then Akane, pounding the $hit out of those drums, grinning, enjoying every moment, in her stride, almost effortless. The best drummer - ever.
Not to take from Akane at all, but all of the girls seem to absolutely love performing and their faces show it. Akane just got to be center stage for longer. ;-)
I am a drummer and I listen very closely to everything she does so that I can learn more about how to do it right but I will never master that smile, it's one of kind.
I love the fact that these chicks rock hard, but what I like even more is they it’s clear they’re having a ton of fun while playing. There’s nothing as awesome as being in a band and playing your own music shows. Keep rocking and melting faces with guitar and drum solos, girls. Rock is pretty much dead in the West, so thank God you guys are around keeping the fire alive.
I noticed this in another watching before, Akane's insane drumming (drum geeking in progress). It is so LOOSE, watch any set of fills and you'll see her sticks actually floating. Most drummers go for straight "beat it" power and grip back on the stick for tight control, using forearms to smash. She is choked way up on the balance point of the stick and is using her thumb and first two fingers mainly to hold, leaving her back two fingers to provide side-to-side stability. Just a little wrist motion provides all of the momentum and she can CONTROL that through a complete run down the kit. This is a case of "allowing the sticks to speak", and that is a level of difficulty that cannot be understated. My GOD this is truly amazing.
I was just noticing that too, she's really choked up on the sticks in this performance. Probably why Jimmy Page complimented her drumming and asked for a photo with her :) It's almost exactly the way, with separated hands, that you grip a Katana and I wonder if she did Kendo or something in school.

Of course, their studio recordings are excellent. However, their music is constantly being upgraded and evolved to make it sound even better, based on their live performance experience and the reactions of their customers. Making the music they create even better. It can be said to be a conscience that takes music seriously. This is the same revisionist approach as that of the great composer Bruckner. It's the music we made, so we make it evolve, just as we like it. More fun, more beautiful, more intense, more passionate... We take what we want to express and evolve it as we go along. Even the lyrics have been changed in some songs. That's why I like the live version. Of course there are minor mistakes. But the music is so great that it makes up for it. This is a very wonderful thing. At the concerts, special and upgraded versions are presented to suit the region and the times. During the two-day concert at the Shibuya LINE CUBE, the special version of 'Rinne', which was performed at the ending of the previous day, was performed with a completely different introduction at the opening of the second day. This is an unforgettable experience. The commitment to give one's all to a one-night-only performance, and the excellence of the music that emerges from it, is the motivation for pursuing live recordings. It's like a historic performance by one of the great masters of classical music ... That's how fans feel.

A great video showcasing the band having fun and crowd completely into it. While Akane gets a whole lot of the attention and there is terrific tag teaming between the vocalists along with terrific guitar work, the driving groove is actually powered by Misa's rumbling bass line. It's a total team effort that makes the band special. Keep that groove going for a few more rounds at the end next time!!! :D
Has anybody ever seen so much fun in the face of a drummer? They always try to look badass while beating the shit out of the drumms. But this girl smiles as she have the time of her live. I hope they getting bigger and bigger. They deserve it more than any band out there.

Oh yes, I absolutely love that transition! After Akane's solo, focus involuntarily shifts to the guitars doing a "handover" during the transition, but I also love what Akane is still doing during that transition... I kinda feel spoilt being able to just expect this level of awesomeness from these ladies.
Look at their faces when they perform, how they play around with each other and try and make funny faces to trip each other up for laughs and tell me there's a better group out there...! Nobody tops Band-Maid
Well, there is Animal from the Muppet Show, so the jury is still out...😁 But joking aside, I do think Akane may be the happiest drummer ever. It makes for such a better experience for both the band and the audience when the band members are clearly having fun and are engaging the audience. These ladies excel at that. Always.
Saiki Atsumi at 1:17 i love her moves waving at the crowd , it's a hard rock band and she's waving so smoothly , girly , motherly type like a lady with a full of caring to their children and telling them to enjoy the moment.
I came here after watching Herman Li's audition with Band-Maid. This is the first Band-Maid song I've listened to, and it is so good. They look so happy and having so much fun performing. This made me smile and brightened up my day.
Herman Li was voted out last one to join first one to get fired it's not that he wasn't skilled enough musically, but it was decided apoun in a group meeting he was far too out spoken about his joining up as an active maid, possibly trying to go for a take over + hog the Band-Maid spotlight management decided it was best he took his costume home, + remain introverted instead of a possible chance of upsetting the audience with the embarrassment as the new leader of the group, R.I.P. X Band-Maid member Herman Li LOL!

OK, I have been singing and making blues and rock music for money since 1966...and these girls kick more ass than any band I have ever seen. Musicianship coupled with showmanship coupled with talent coupled with hard work and perseverance. I'm ready to put these 5 ladies in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame now...and I mean, RIGHT NOW!

BAND-MAIDのライブのクオリティは周知の通りだが、特にこのFREEDOMは群を抜いている。オリジナルの音源よりも遥かにこのライブの方が完成されているし、何より彼女たちの楽しそうな笑顔とライブに懸ける情熱がビシビシ伝わってくるのが一つの中毒性を生んでいる。もう何回見たか分からない。別の曲を奏でているようなMISAのベースラインがよく聴こえるのも心地いい。彩ちゃんの喉も目茶苦茶調子がいい。あーちゃんのドラムソロはこれからの2022年のライブでは是非披露してもらいたい。もう世界中が期待しているはず。ドラムソロからみんちょのギターソロに入った時の会場が最高潮になった時、最初の頃は感動で涙が出た。ロックライブビデオで涙が出たなんて初めてだった。正直言ってこのお給仕の会場に行けたファン達を羨ましく思うよ(^^) 世界征服活動を再開する彼女たちをこれからもずっと応援したい。

Oh yes, I absolutely love that transition! After Akane's solo, focus involuntarily shifts to the guitars doing a "handover" during the transition, but I also love what Akane is still doing during that transition...
I kinda feel spoilt being able to just expect this level of awesomeness from these ladies.
That is a beautiful bit of arranging in that section, how the focus flows around the various players. VERY well handled.

BAND-MAIDはバンドの「理想的な在り方（完成形）」だと思います。メンバーが皆仲良しでお互いに敬意を払い支え合っている。コンサートで様々な曲を演奏する中で、ドラムのアカネさんの所に集まったり各メンバー笑い合ってアイコンタクトを送る。また、ソロパートの時演奏しないメンバーはしゃがんで演者を目立つようにする等、私は今迄海外を含めこの様なバンドに出会った事は有りません。BAND-MAIDの楽曲は何故良いのか、それは多分メンバー全員で編曲に関わって居るからでしょう。メンバー全員とても高いスキルを持っているのでそれぞれの曲でとても厳しい所まで詰めて行くのだと思います。BAND-MAIDは本当に素晴らしいバンドだと思います。

この動画のDVDあるって知って、買いました。スゴイ衝撃受けました。自分が高１だった頃に観たレッドツェッペリン『永遠の詩』くらい衝撃的なライブ映像。20年くらいぶりにガツーン！ときました。ロックミュージックに年代も国境も性別も関係ないんだと思い知らされました。

個人的にはバンドとしても曲としても興味があるタイプじゃないんだけど、このドラムソロとその後のギターの入りはロック史でも屈指のカッコ良さだと思ってる。

このバンドが素晴らしいのは曲の感情表現の頂点、クライマックス(各パートのソロだったり、1番印象的なメロディ部分)に向けて全員総力を上げて「グァ〜」っと、「これでもかぁっっ」って所まで感情表現を押し上げて1番カッコイイ頂点部分に繋げて演奏する事が出来る所だと思います。しかも、センスがCOOLな上にスキルが高い。

BAND-MAIDの数ある楽曲の中でFREEDAMはかなり好きな楽曲で映像も色々あったけど、この映像が一番好きです。なによりメンバーのみんながすごく笑顔で演奏していて、すごく楽しんでいるのが伝わってきて、聴いて見ている方も笑顔になってくる。そしてみんなすごく輝いていて・・・ホントBAND-MAID最高すぎる。これからも応援していくぞ〜〜〜。
I came here after watching Herman Li's audition with Band-Maid. This is the first Band-Maid song I've listened to, and it is so good. They look so happy and having so much fun performing. This made me smile and brightened up my day.

Herman Li was voted out last one to join first one to get fired it's not that he wasn't skilled enough musically, but it was decided apoun in a group meeting he was far too out spoken about his joining up as an active maid, possibly trying to go for a take over + hog the Band-Maid spotlight management decided it was best he took his costume home, + remain introverted instead of a possible chance of upsetting the audience with the embarrassment as the new leader of the group, R.I.P. X Band-Maid member Herman Li LOL!
