Wow, I’d seen that picture making the rounds saying that it was a 1977 picture of an old lady who died after urine leaked off of a flying plane and froze by the time it pierced the lady, killing her instantly.
What I can’t get over is how, far from being stung by such brilliantly biting satire, the real BBC news seems to regard this series as some kind of template!

This had to be the funniest segment day today did, the ridiculous turns of events in the story, the parody of news reporter idioms and phrases, i couldnt breathe from laughing that hard the jokes were packed in so perfectly one after another, i think the only funnier incident was the train passengers that went wild after a signal box malfunction in episode 6.
I promise I'm not THAT slow but it took me at least 2 years of catching the show (PROGRAM, dammit, PROGRAM, I'm no nationalist but I refuse to indulge in spreading this hegemony of Americanisms to this shore! And I'm really not a nationalist....I'm like the fifth lion, but I believe in The Propaganda of the Deed as opposed to Jihad) the first time watching re-runs, watching VCRS--it took me that damn long to realise that the serial killer was called Chapman Baxter in every "Barbra Wintergreen On Death Row" sketch! Okay maybe I am a bit slow
