This was right up there with the “7 Reasons to not get a Gravel Bike” 😂…… Cheers from the Colonies Jules…… since I am 6’5” and 250# I am fortunate to not fit in anything Rapha 😉
I was first attracted to rapha because the design.i grew up skating. I've always been into style and fashion.i never knew at first rapha was a status thing .I just liked the colors and simplicity. But I bought a jersey for half price off eBay and could immediately tell the difference between it and the cheap Amazon jerseys I had. I have since tried other good brands ,castelli, etc. Rapha fit my body type best. So I just browse ebay and when I find one for 50$ or less I snag em
Never heard of Rapha and sounds like it’s a good job considering the prices, you seem to own a lot of rapha items though , that’s a good tattoo to have = somewhere over the horizon it’s going to get worse, song for the video = Why Does It Always Rain On Me = Travis.
🤣Love it! 🤣 Regarding health matters, I hope everything is ok and under control, although whatever the NHS have prescribed for you does seem to be working rather well!
I think that you're wrong about Rapha prices Julian, just looked on the DH Gate website and the Rapha gear pretty cheap. A jersey and bib set for £30! Must be genuine surely?
Just like my riding (slow), I now comment as follows. Would it be possible for you to consider adding a technical shirt to your nobodybcares clothing range so I can wear it and you can save me from becoming a Rapha w****r.
I buy Rapha quite selectively when it’s marked way down in their archive sale. The Brevet Jersey in merino and their pro team practice jersey are good for tall people. I have a long torso and long arms. I’ve tried dozens of brands and Rapha on sale works best for me. I’ve had the bar bag for two years and it’s still my favorite. No $90 caps for me nor head to toe. No clubs where I live either and not happy about the Walmart thing. Rapha wanker lol. Great laugh! Thanks!
You're not just paying for the material of the product, but the image and branding. Part of the high price is part and parcel of creating an exclusive image. If it was cheaper in price, it wouldn't have the exclusive perception in people's minds. It's no different than high end non-cycling fashion items. Why are cat walk clothes priced at thousands? I have a relative who's seen dresses from a very well known name, where the stitching was fraying and the overall workmanship was average at best in quality. It's 10% material, 90% brand and image. As you pointed out at around 5:30, some of these small independent retailers who started out with good intentions of producing high quality items and get a decent following end up being sold to investment firms, or such like, and then corporate thinking takes over and they milk it for everything they can!
I wear Rapha because I don't particularly like the alternatives. Who wants to look like an explosion in a paint factory? I always buy in the sales or Ebay unless its Christmas! @@JulianHutchings
No matter how bad things seem, No matter the troubles and tribulations you must face, even if your dog ran off and your shrew of a wife won't leave.. Take solace in the sure and certain knowledge that you will never be a Rapha wanker.
I started cycling back in May 2021 bought a Giant TCR and started wearing cycling jersey and bib shorts! then suddenly came across this brand name RAPHA which I feel in love LMAO! I'm just a beginner cyclist but looks like a pro in my Club during group ride thanks to my bike and my outfit

Somewhere over the horizon there's another Pensioner Jules video. That's enough to get me out of bed most days. Cheers 👍🏼

Thanks for the joy and the laughter!
The fact you had some on convinced me it’s not for me - thanks 😂😂
the walmart thing is a real turn off, i wonder what good brands are worth supporting.
As a Dane I have never heard of Rapha? So its hardly a risk to buy anything?

Back on form Julian! ...and not a mention of Brompton, a good thing.
A Rapha Reaming! Such fun.

Brilliant
Every time I’m on the road and pass someone wearing Rapha gear I cringe and also feel slightly sorry for them.
I'm safe from Rapha's curse since there's nobody selling it here!
Where are you?

New York? Or because it’s 2023 try online!
@@johnmcgarvey6768I'm not the one who commented but I like to try on clothes, shoes and helmets.

I quite like Rapha gear.
Me too
To dear for me stick to lusso cycle clothing
Agree! I support Vulpine instead!
Best for a long time 🤣🤣, but wait until they launch a Brompton X Rapha ...
Thanks
I’ve put my name down for ione
I’m way too fat and middle aged to wear Rapha
I get my kit from Voler
Every one I have ever met wearing Rapha really has met the stereotype. Poseurs and w⚓rs without a doubt.
Including me!
Rapha, Rapha, Rapha oi, oi, oi . Good one Jules😂
Very funny, and so true! Bike clothing for hipsters. No thanks.
There are two types of cyclist. Those who love Rapha, and those who cant afford it... Stop with the bile Jules, you will get an ulcer.
I’m getting a Rapha ulcer - £199

So just to be clear, you paid 90 English pounds for the cap you are wearing?👲
Somebody had to

I WOULD NEVER BUY RAPHA, AS IT IS BORING, OVER-PRICED, AND MADE IN CHINA!!!
I USE SANTINI, ALE, & ETXEONDO, WITH SHOES BY VITTORIA.
