My son was 5yrs old when one of the members of the band picked him up over his head on stage.
The venue had a wall that was too tall for my son to see over so one of the roadies flipped over a monitor cover and set him on the stage. The joke of the night was that they were " they might be Giants, the band that holds things up" as they went on later the expected. At the end of the show they all held something over their heads as the left the stage. One of the Johns carried my son.
I got him back just so you know...

Thats really accurate. Looking back, some of the best songs/shows you'll see have not just the crowd, but the band/performer smiling.

This is the best They Might Be Giants song that wasn't a They Might Be Giants song.
This setting, plus group singing along, is the best ever. I must have watched this about 200 times already. My daughter is a bigger TMBG fan than me! And I woke them up in DISNEY WORLD at the Animal Kingdom to "Hot Dog" just to annoy them to get up and watch the giraffes. First World problems, yes. I feel blessed to (1) be in the same generation and (2) be able to see them in concert. BONUS: I've seen two TMBG concerts with my daughter and we have a date in DC for #3. Poor girl, her first concert was Reel Big Fish and the next was Rush.
I loved listening to Flood in high school, a punk kid in the nineties in the South- the first thing I ever heard about Chumbawamba was that they were really a kind of anarchist collective
Genius, still my favorite band. After hearing flood back in 1990, I was forever a fan of everything these two did.

after that i love this song and when i hear it on the radio i crank it now.
I honestly think its def one of the best covers, Yea it may not sound as great as the original; but it definitely scratched the surface and had air time on the same level as the original.
And the main thing is, they added their own twist, like a signature and a salute to the original
and most importantly they had fun and that's what makes the majority of higher spirit songs like this, sound so great. #avclub
The only choice I'll question is who sings which part, I'd have thought Linnell would have taken the female part being that he's naturally the higher singer, but this way round is definitely more memorable.
I always felt like if they wanted to sit down and figure this out as more than a lark, they could take this fun performance and knock it out of the park. The bassline is killer and the riff they get in the bridge towards the end is classic TMBG.
