Wow! Thanks for this video. Having lived in Albuquerque for 45 years, I wouldn't have had the courage to go into that tunnel. I have walked through the tunnel located between Prospect and Cutler on Washington St., and that one comes out on the I40 median, which is pretty wild. It has lots of graffiti too.
I don't know if you're from Albuquerque, but a word of advice; this is not a good time of year to be down there ! It is monsoon season -- I know it seems ridiculous in the desert, but a storm can come out of nowhere this time of year and you'd have no idea if you were down there. Even a little bit of rain can be catastrophic if you're in there, it is the drainage for an entire canyon coming from the mountain. At the very least if you do this in fall here you should absolutely have someone else outside by the opening or something ! There's a reason there was water in there lol. I would say you should've done it back in June. It could even rain in the mid-easterns and then flood there; there is no telling, it is always best to be cautious when it comes to flooding in the desert. I know I sound like a crazy person, but being in New Mexico and hiking a lot, I have been in a few canyons when they fill up. It is a situation you'd much rather plan to not be in lol.
there's another tunnel on the NE side of town which has storm tunnels that go on for miles throughout the city. there's a water authority map of the drainage tunnels that shows you where the entrances are. always wanted to go exploring through them but you need a lot of things to be safe. stuff like flashlights, extra batteries, rope, protective mask/gear in case of chemicals or other toxic material. plus carrying something for protection never hurts. those tunnels go through the whole city, it's insane.

Word on the curb is that there´s a new gang in ABQ called ´Homless Crip´ & they´re taking over the streets. Side note: I think they chose ´Crip´ because they love doing Blues, but that´s just an alleged rumor.

Where exactly does this tunnel start/end? I'm native New Mexican (Raton) and I grew up and lived in Albuquerque/Los Lunas from age 12 to 45. I had to leave NM because of the crime, gangs, and violent cops. I grew up in ABQ from 1982-2015. Anyhow, I still love ABQ deep down, bur, I will never live there again. When you said hidden park, I thought of a place off of Carlisle somewhere when I was 17. Can't remember exact location. I went to and graduated Highland High School 1988. I have the most awesome memories of growing up there.
Brave man . Unfortunately ive learned in ABQ all the places that are in the city limits but off the beaten are generally filled with people you dont want to meet.
She ends up in the collection pond where 2nd street meets 4th street near the Sandra rail runner station. they collect bodies outta that pond after all heavy rainfalls in the area. BTW there are some great bike trails near there
I rode my bike through one of those in Burque before when I lived there a few years ago. There was a lot more people inside for me tho and I rode a bit faster no stopping. They all kinda just watched me pass nobody said or did anything.
At first I thought it was the grant line tunnel, which runs from just west of San Pedro, underneath Montgomery Plaza to the west side of Jefferson. But after locating the Fairfield Inn at the end of the video I realized this tunnel was slightly north of the grant line channel and located behind Fuddruckers. I find this to be extremely fascinating since I have never seen this tunnel. I have actually been through the grant line tunnel. I would be extremely interested in finding out where the upper terminus of this tunnel is.
Homie, I would suggest being more clear you aren't police to those you encounter in the tunnels and when someone wants you to not come closer, take that as you are in THEIR crib and you are invading. Be clear you aren't a cop, communicate clearly and be cool. Please stay safe. When someone says don't come closer, run the other way. Unlike what you did in only turning around when you saw a weapon. A woman on her own and you violated her space. Giving very preditory vibes, homie. Keep that in check cos you might find me in the tunnels. Again, be safe, be respectful and you'll be fine.
I'm honestly surprised you didn't run into a homeless person sooner in that underground water drain. Also watch out for monsoon season. Hate to see people die down there
Was just there the other day & there´s so much trash blocking off the tunnels where she has her tent that it´ll probably take an immense amount of water to move it.
I would have ignored that homeless lady. They're taking over Albuquerque because people are allowing them to. The consequences if she attacked would have been on her.
I'm 65 now but I remember walking through that park late at night as a teen. I was approached by three girls who had also been on a walk and were attacked by knife wielding men that had attacked them. They were scared and I got out of there.
Yuck. I can literally feel what it feels like in Albuquerque, by watching your videos. Not good. I need to look away. I cannot express how lucky I feel having been able to escape that city. And state. You should go to espanola and film there.

Be careful Alex, I hope you have a CCW. Or hell, open carry when you go in there.
New Mexico is an open-carry state, so you don’t need a CCW. The best way to be safe is to avoid going to places where you might find trouble.
