Nice to see Fighting force get a mention, I was character modeller and animator for the enemies, I came on the project during the transition from SOR4 to FF from the Saturn to PS1 !
WOW! Brian, that's amazing to know! How did you feel about the project straying from SOR to FF? I loved FF 1 and 2 as BeM's were and still are one of my favorite genre's of all time.
C'mon Guys: This channel really deserves more views than it gets with the awesome 3D animation and Cable-TV quality production. Lord Karnage / CGR are the go-to guys for classic game info, but you guys have got to give efforts like this some props ..
+RoomOnFire11 Thanks! I love the original Sonic games, But I also feel that their history is also covered by other channels, books, etc. so I feel I have little to add.
+strafefox Cool. Any recommendations? I love to hear the stories behind these games, it's like discovering them all over again. I was recently playing Sega Ultimate Classics on PS3 which features all 3 SOR games, as well as the first 3 Sonic games. It was incredible! However, I upgraded to a PS4 and to my horror, the game is only available on PS3! Bummer.
This was hands down one of the best retrospectives I've ever seen on the Streets of Rage series. Your production values are amazing! Haha the entire time while watching this I was like his voice sounds like that ChaseFace channel I subscribed to a few months back, and then at the end I was like Ah it's the same guy ;)
Absolutely outstanding work. A brilliant retrospective look at one of my favourite series. You where recommended to me by my good friend Glenn Plant and I'm glad you where. Can't wait to have a look back at some of your other videos to see what I've been missing out on :)
I will start marketing my channel a little better soon, although I'm happy with the steady grow :) It's kinda hard to get noticed between the thousands of other channels on youtube, especially since I mainly do Sega and MSX konami vids.
First of all ..... WOW on the new intro !!!.... Second .... WOW on the game review !!! You really worked hard to make this, and i love this game. I hope the best for u and can't wait for ur next review :)
strafefox 16bitbrit i saw adam comment on this on google plus and watched....ill second every thing he said! thanks for helping me find this beaut of a channel fella
Awesome work and editing as ever friend and a fantastic series of games to do a retrospective on. Of the three games in the series I think I'd have to plump for SoR over it's sequels. Have lots of love for that game as it came with my MegaDrive way back in Christmas '94 ;-)
As always nice video! SoR 1 was one of the biggests reasons along Sonic 1 that i wanted sooooo badly a Mega Drive back then, i had a NES and a Master System so i loved both Nintendo and Sega and their franchises and for that i think i had a lot of luck because for that i appreciated every game i saw no matter the company or logo.
I don't care for the third game as it felt like a rough fan mod rather than a true sequel, but the first two games are superb. I think the first game gets overlooked quite a lot, but it has some cool combat mechanics and some of the best background artwork in the hazy cityscapes. The background layer on the boat level is almost photo realistic.
Ooh I love the SoR series to bits Rage 2 being my favourite, anyway that was a super awesome video and retrospec, like I said I can't wait to see more of your videos. =D
I disagree. I think Final Fight is far superior, although I love Streets of Rage as well. It doesn't matter becasue there is no such thing as "Best". It's all subjective.
No doubt this is one of the best videogame channels on UA-cam. Production clearly stands out. Good narration pace and voice, intelligent comments based on deep know how. Very professional.Very impressed. Keep up the good work! I have already suscribed to your amazing channel.
There is actually a new game, Streets of Rage 4, in the process of development right now. Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games are making it with DotEmu serving as the publisher. It is apparently scheduled for release in 2019 sometime... hopefully its going to be awesome.
I can still remember being so excited seeing Streets of Rage in EGM Magazine. I also pre-ordered it and it was only $40 at Electronic Boutique. When I told her my game came in my excitement, she told me she didn't think she had the money, and I remember crying, "But mom, they're holding it for me!" My excitement was off the charts, then I was so sad at the revelation of not getting it after pre-ordering. I would of been like 14, how pathetic, crying about it, but back then new video game meant everything to me. lol
The production-value is out of this world! Plus, the narrating is really top notch. May I ask what kind of editing-software you are using for the 3D stuff?
Thanks :) I use Cinema 4D for the 3D elements, premiere pro for the rough editing and After Effects for all other animations and to put the ep together.
Haha that would be so cool! But in all honesty I think Axel is a bit too obscure these days. It's been over 20 years since his last appearance and not really known by the general Nintendo fan I guess.
+strafefox Axel did appeared on Project X Zone 2 but I don't know much about the game lol I was surprised that he was in it & his theme man oh man it was dope.
It's a shame Sega did not give Yuzo Koshiro and company more cart space for the first game. I believe had it been given the same size as SOR2 it might actually be considered a better game than the second and that's saying something. The one thing that separates this series from Final Fight...at least with me is the enemy AI and crowd control. I'm also still perplexed that the SOR series never truly went to the Sega CD especially considering how integral sound was to the games. I know the first game was included inside Sega's Classic Collection that came with the add-on but I always wanted a build from the ground up on CD.
Your show kicks the gaming historian's ass. The Splash Wave name just doesn't sell the concept very well altho is a cool name. (I also love outrun) :) All I'm trying to say is that your show deserves a lot more subs.
Do some collaborations with other youtube channels like retro liberty, gamester 81 or the 16 bit brothers and those subs will grow in no time.(they are super niece people) Just keep the content coming. I sure am telling every one. Your show is that good. So, Cheers man! PS: Do you have an Instagram Account?
I loved Streets Of Rage 2, I only ever played as Blaze in all three of the games and really enjoyed them, especially SOR2. I keep hoping that Sega will bring the series back and have Blaze and the team return, but it isn't looking very likely sadly.
+braylon randle I think Sega shut the project down, so you wouldn't find it on the Bomber games site. Try searching for "streets of rage remake download" there are still plenty of other sites where you can download the game.
Thanks! It's hard to say but I think it would be cool if Sega handled it similarly to Sonic Mania. So they should reach out to Bombergames who created the Streets of Rage remake and let them develop of a 'new' official game.
God, I still don't believe that after all these years we are finally getting a legit, official Streets of Rage 4. DotEmu better have Koshiro working on the OST for it.
Streets of rage is still amazing. I was playing it on my new 3ds today. My god it was a good experience. Still feels fresh. Almost indie XD great game.
Congratulations...you do the best video game tributes of all UA-cam
***** wow thanks so much! :)
You are legend than !
An absolute legend, I grew up with the PS1, so I got nostalgia for Fighting Force. Me and my bro played that game for hours on end.
This was a great tribute! You have a good voice and excellent production value, will be checking out the rest of your vids now
This is so so so good, dude. The 3D effects and sprite animations you incorporated were really impressive. Keep it up!!
I'd love to hire whomever did the 3d AND editing for this video. They deserve every penny and more!
C'mon Guys: This channel really deserves more views than it gets with the awesome 3D animation and Cable-TV quality production. Lord Karnage / CGR are the go-to guys for classic game info, but you guys have got to give efforts like this some props ..
GRANDUPPER!!! My new #Sega Streets of Rage retrospective
Brilliant. Any plans to do a Sonic retrospective documentary?
+RoomOnFire11 Thanks! I love the original Sonic games, But I also feel that their history is also covered by other channels, books, etc. so I feel I have little to add.
+strafefox Cool. Any recommendations?
I love to hear the stories behind these games, it's like discovering them all over again.

can you do golden axe
One of my favorite series when I was a kid. Great upload!
Y'know, I went to that CES in 1993 with the Sega Activator - didn't try it though!
If MLIG watches this channel you know it's good.
Your production quality is at another level. Congrats.
I can't wait to hear your take on Streets of Rage 4 once it comes out! I am so glad I found your channel.
man, youre so underrated :(
Absolutely outstanding work. A brilliant retrospective look at one of my favourite series. You where recommended to me by my good friend Glenn Plant and I'm glad you where. Can't wait to have a look back at some of your other videos to see what I've been missing out on :)
*Playing "Slow Moon" at the end of a Streets Of Rage review? Priceless. You've made fans proud here.*
How are you not getting any more views?! This is gold!
Thanks so much bro! :)
As stated below you do amazing work. Well done! Every video is a trip down memory lane. I love it!
You've heard this before I'm sure, but good god your editing is spectacular. This was an outstanding look at an outstanding video game series. Thanks.
Well I never get tired of getting those awesome complements :)
Btw: I like your channel!
strafefox 16bitbrit i saw adam comment on this on google plus and watched....ill second every thing he said! thanks for helping me find this beaut of a channel fella
Fantastic production you guys have made! Inspiring!
I just found you in Retroware TV and man... your work is fantastic! Love it!
Keep up the good work!
Awesome! great to hear!
strafefox
well done, love the editing and graphics you put into this retrospective. hope to see more
Awesome work and editing as ever friend and a fantastic series of games to do a retrospective on. Of the three games in the series I think I'd have to plump for SoR over it's sequels. Have lots of love for that game as it came with my MegaDrive way back in Christmas '94 ;-)
Great review! All these years later, and I never knew Streets of Rage 1 had a bad ending... I'm going to have to go back and replay it now.
the music of the bad ending is also great
And here we are. Streets of Rage 4 is upon us! Good video!
I don't know why but I laughed my ass off when the 3D barrels fell down during the SOR3 segment, that was so goofy. Great video anyway.
Haha, it was not really intended to be funny, but great to hear it made you laugh :)

I think the first game gets overlooked quite a lot, but it has some cool combat mechanics and some of the best background artwork in the hazy cityscapes. The background layer on the boat level is almost photo realistic.
This is 4 years ago?! WHAT!
How come I did not know about this?
Anyway I subbed and will support this channel from now on.
Ooh I love the SoR series to bits Rage 2 being my favourite, anyway that was a super awesome video and retrospec, like I said I can't wait to see more of your videos. =D
Thanks :) and there's more on the way :)
Streets of Rage 4 finally happening
Fantastic video. Very professional. Streets of Rage is the best Beat'em up series ever made, and with the most awesome soundtracks for sure.
Thanks! Yeah SoR is also my favorite, followed by CapCom's Cadillacs and dinosaurs.
I disagree. I think Final Fight is far superior, although I love Streets of Rage as well. It doesn't matter becasue there is no such thing as "Best". It's all subjective.
Well done video. I added a bunch of your videos to my watch list.
Incredible editing!! :)
Thanks! :)
I love your videos and how you break it down nice work keep up the good job
Thanks! :)
Love how you mention the Remake while playing one of its tracks from the ost. Love that version of the song.
0:59 It's the guy from Eswat apparently.
My favorite UA-cam gaming channel
Thanks so much! Always cool to hear! :)
No doubt this is one of the best videogame channels on UA-cam. Production clearly stands out. Good narration pace and voice, intelligent comments based on deep know how. Very professional.Very impressed. Keep up the good work! I have already suscribed to your amazing channel.
Thanks so much for your kind words! Glad you like my work :)
What is the name of the song or stage on minute 5:17 please?
+Gustavo Gimenez It's called Slow Moon (streets of rage remake version)
You know how strong you have to be to kick a bulldozer in the other direction?
Dude, Your video's are fantastic.
SOO Nostalgic it hurts. I remember the first time i played SOR & SOR2. Good times!
A Wonderfully Replayable Series - And Slick Production Values here as always
Thanks! And yeah Streets of Rage aged so well, they are still so much fun to play.
What was the name of the ps1 game you previewed? I used to play it all day when I was a kid
Great video can't describe my joy after watching it :)
There is actually a new game, Streets of Rage 4, in the process of development right now. Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games are making it with DotEmu serving as the publisher. It is apparently scheduled for release in 2019 sometime... hopefully its going to be awesome.

this is some top-shelf production !
what song remix is used during the end of the video?
Thanks! The song is from the Bomber Streets of Rage Remake.
Great memories as a kid I hope sega one day brings streets of rage back one day come on sega and great video
4:55 Where are those animations from?
Those are from the Sega Vintage Collection intro
Oh that PS2 game where the classics are in 3d?
boru25 No they are psn x-live e-shop downloads of the classic sega games. They have a whole bunch like golden axe, wonderboy, streets of rage.
Awesome video, splash wave! SOR will always rock!
Awesome video. Keep them coming :)
Do you think that when the Nintendo NX comes out next year, that Axel from the Streets of Rage games would be the next Smash Bros character
Haha that would be so cool! But in all honesty I think Axel is a bit too obscure these days. It's been over 20 years since his last appearance and not really known by the general Nintendo fan I guess.
The first two Streets of Rage games were re-released on the 3DS
+strafefox Axel did appeared on Project X Zone 2 but I don't know much about the game lol I was surprised that he was in it & his theme man oh man it was dope.
Great quality review. Subcribed!
It's a shame Sega did not give Yuzo Koshiro and company more cart space for the first game. Now time for another sor game with today’s graphics 🙌
Your show kicks the gaming historian's ass. The Splash Wave name just doesn't sell the concept very well altho is a cool name. (I also love outrun) :) All I'm trying to say is that your show deserves a lot more subs.
yes it is no contest
Thanks so much guys! :)
If I would start over, maybe I would choose another title... but on the other hand I like the fact that it's different :)
Can't wait for Streets of Rage 4 coming this year 2020!
Streets of Rage 4! Yessss
These gotta be on DVD or something. Can watch these for hours.
Why have it on DVD when you can just watch it on UA-cam? DVD has been dead for ages now anyway.
You deserve millions of views!
I just downloaded the sound tracks of all three game two days ago lol. Just listen to the music is me a little bit of nostalgia
I loved Streets Of Rage 2, I only ever played as Blaze in all three of the games and really enjoyed them, especially SOR2. I keep hoping that Sega will bring the series back and have Blaze and the team return, but it isn't looking very likely sadly.
why they changed the color scheme for axel and blaze just for a NA release of SoR3 was just weird
streets of rage forever
does anyone know where this remake is for download. i went to the blog but got lost looking for it.
+braylon randle I think Sega shut the project down, so you wouldn't find it on the Bomber games site. Try searching for "streets of rage remake download" there are still plenty of other sites where you can download the game.
K thanks
Superb job!! Impressive
Nice job strafefox do you think Sega would do remake of this game for ps4 or xbox one?
Thanks! It's hard to say but I think it would be cool if Sega handled it similarly to Sonic Mania.
So they should reach out to Bombergames who created the Streets of Rage remake and let them develop of a 'new' official game.
Yeah Bombergames and sega that would be awesome for them to do and i kinda wish sega was still in the console race
God, I still don't believe that after all these years we are finally getting a legit, official Streets of Rage 4. DotEmu better have Koshiro working on the OST for it.
your work is espetacular!
+renatinhoss Thanks! :)
This is awesome ! Subbed :-)
Top 5 game for sure.
Thanks so much! :)
Streets of Rage 4 is out! It's awesome!
It's ok. Lovely graphics, but it's just another stock scrolling beat 'em up with some modern aesthetics.
@@Syklonus Aside from that, the music is amazing.
It'd be interesting to see your opinion of streets of rage 4
I really liked Streets of Rage 4, great game.
This is good video love streets of rage 2 my favorite game of all time on the sega genesis
Another master piece, as expected
Streets of Rage is still extremely fun. I even prefer this to Golden Axe in terms of Genesis beat em ups.
I got Street of Rage 2 on my DS lite. I'm loving it.
And also second Adam and Glenn's comments :-)
Nice retrospective dude
thanks! :)
I hope they bring the series back, but keep it in it’s 2D form
4:56 PC as well
Am I the only one trying to find that last stage 4 remix?
Try to search for "Streets of rage remake ost"
strafefox Thank you, I enjoy many of the tracks commonly used in your videos.
Streets of rage is still amazing. I was playing it on my new 3ds today. My god it was a good experience. Still feels fresh. Almost indie XD great game.
spectacular desing!!!!!! wow
The best beat em up of all time.
Buenísimos los streets of rage son párte de toda mi infancia
No doubt Axel upped his Muay Thai game the Second go-round.
Nitpick: Streets of Rage is a 4 megabit cart, not 8 megabit. So SoR2 is four times larger.
Great video, though.
I love streets of rage still play it
Adam was the best character of all three games
I loved Adam. Streets of rage 2 would have been perfect if he was playable instead of Skate who was an awful character.
Always perfect
This is so great
IT WAS ALL THE RAGE BACK THEN. XD
=)
This channel kicks so much ass.
Thanks so much! :)
thanks for the video
Wow I loved the streets of rage seies the soundtrack was awesome this was better than final fight:-)
Dead in hint Streets of Rage music people making mad at this but it sounds better than the original at the end of your video I liked it that
f**K YEEEEARRRRGHHHHH!!!!
my favourite SERIES!!!!!!
My fav genesis game!
