The way you talked about Turtles all the way down, IS what I love about reading. Seeing how a book can impact your life so much, and how much you can resonate with a book, is everything I adore about books. Something similar happens to me whenever I talked about Ari and Dante, there's no book that can compare to what it makes me feel everytime I re-read it.
PS. I will be picking up Turtles all the way down, really soon.

As someone who has OCD, I would say that turtles all the way down definitely portrays it pretty accurately. The only thing is, that you have to keep in mind that OCD is completely different for everyone who has it, so while the thought spirals are pretty common, the whole germs thing is kinda irrelevant to a good portion of people with OCD.

Your description of Turtles All The Way Down almost made me cry. I really want to read it. I think I might buy it next time I have book buying money. Your videos also make me want to reread The Night Circus more than I already have. I read it 5 years ago and while the details are spotty, the magic of that book was something so wonderful for me. It's on my Christmas list this year, so I'm really hoping to get it (heck, 80% of my Christmas list is books and the rest is homeware). Literally half of your list is on my TBR haha :)

Hi Hannah!! I felt the exact same way about John Green- I had read a couple of his books, and honestly thought they were a little overrated. Then, in May of 2016 I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. I went back and reread The Fault in our Stars, and I can't explain how much it mean to me. Thank you for always making content that makes me feel a little more understood

Hey, Hannah. I just wanted to thank you for recommending The Gentlemen's Guide to Vice and Virtue; I finished reading last week and I absolutely LOVED it!! And I also just finished The Inexplicable Logic of My Life, and I adored it, too, as I did Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (which has become a favorite). You have really excellent tastes!
I wanted also, if you haven't tried it, to recommend John Green's Looking For Alaska. It's actually the first John Green book I ever read and remains a favorite to this day. And thank you for making me even more excited for Turtles All the Way Down than I already was!
And, yes, I will read The Night Circus, I promise! It's on my TBR (along a lot of other recommendations by you) and I will get to it!

I am so happy you talked about the felling of being understood, I have anxiety disorder too and I relate to that feeling so so much. I have read some of these books thanks to you and I've fallen in love with them - Vicious and The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender just to name two ❤ A stand-alone recommedation I love so much that you haven't mentioned would be I'll give you the sun - if you haven't read already. I love the storytelling and plot in that book and I want everybody to read it. Thank you so much for the great work and anybody reading this, have a great day!

I had the same experience with Turtles All the Way Down and I'm so glad you loved it. I personally was super excited for it because John Green is my all time favorite author and Looking for Alaska has been my all time favorite book for years. But the anxiety depiction was absolutely perfect and I too cried at many parts because they were just so relatable.

I just finished reading The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender and I cannot thank you enough for recommending this book. It became one of my favorites, I will recommend it to others and hope they read it and love it. It is so beautiful, from the way it’s written to the story itself. It made me feel so many things, happiness, sadness, anger, and in the end hope.

After I read Turtles All The Way Down, I legit couldn't think of anything but the book. Lost all concentration in my college classes for a week thinking about it. I still have a hard time putting why I love it so much into words. Because when she was going into thought spirals (especially in the hospital) it felt horrible. It did feel like being in the middle of a panic attack. But John Green has always had a way with words (both in writing and out loud) that is magical. His writing is real and heart-wrenching and beautiful all at the same time. 10/10 stars!!

Aww. I was tearing up when you started talking about ‘Turtles All the Way Down’. It was definitely his most character-driven story so far. I thought it was great, but I definitely preferred ‘Looking For Alaska’. In many ways, opinions on John Green’s books are very subjective to people’s backgrounds, experiences and personalities. So in the same way you found comfort in TATWD, I found that same sort of feeling reading ‘Looking For Alaska’. I know it’s not for everyone, but it has one of the most beautiful depictions of bereavement I’ve ever read about in any book. Highly recommend it. Thank you for this video and thank you for continuing to get me into all these great books, some of which you showed in the video! I honestly cannot thank you enough.

So I have to comment now. I have been watching a lot of your videos for some time now and don't often comment. But I love your calm demeanor and way of talking like you aren't overly "quirky" and still so loveable. Nice video! Will probably pick up Eliza and her Monsters. Really liked Fangirl even though it was a slow-burn.
