One thing I found out with the Plug-it cords is the lower rated cords like you might see with the sanders have a second notch that prevent the cord from fitting in higher rated tools. The higher rated Plug-it cord does not have this second notch and will fit in any Plug-it tool. From my understanding Festool tried to make sure the Plug-it cords were fool proof.
Little tip I’ve learned, just use a cheap drawer liner and your work piece won’t move all over the place and you won’t need clamps. I just made a video showing it and it works surprisingly well.
I had the same Ryobi and while it was decent, getting the knives in alignment was a bit of fun. Plus, it's just plain loud and the dust collection is not great. The HL 850, in comparison, is awesome.
I lost out on a bid for the bench top stand and the accessory fence on eBay. The person ended up paying around 700.00 for both components. I could not justify that so I bought a couple of new sanders.
Ya know.. for the expensive planer.. there comes with it a Guard or rail guide of sorts. - i have it.. i absolutely dislike they dont have a detachable cord. (That its permanently affixed to the tool itself).
I tried to purchase those accessories off of Ebay but I got outbid. I kind of feel the same way about the TS60 and TSV60 track saws. A plug-it cord would have been nice.
Yes, it is the larger planer. I am unsure if they just have not sold out here in the US or if they are still being manufactured for the US market. They have discontinued the fence and the base so I should probably get the additional cutter heads sooner rather than later.
I thought the smaller planer was new. Maybe we will see it in a year of two. On the other hand it may be like the corded Kapex 60 which was never released in the US.
Maybe it is like the CT48/CT48 AC where it is one of the rare products North America gets that Europe doesn't. Usually it is the other way around from what I can tell. *EDIT* UK doesn't get the 48 but it gets the 48's bags. Apparently the rest of Europe gets the actual 48 vac instead of just the bags.

I did notice the cord differences however I was not familiar with which on had the higher gauge. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks of the tip.
nice tip I might have to try this out. Kinda like the idea of bench cookies (I haven't tried those either).

I have not had a lot of time with the HL 850, but I am more excited about using it as it has a lot of nice features.
@@daddysharespace BTW, the bench unit you mention in the video is the SE-HL and there is one for sale on the FOG right now.

Good unboxing. I’ve been considering getting this tool. It’s supposed to be fantastic for scribing work
Thanks for the compliment.
I am looking forward to seeing what this thing can do.
Is that the larger planer? I thought they discontinued that particular model and the smaller one was the only one available in Europe anyway
He's located in the US and the HL 850 is the only one we have. I don't know if the smaller one has ever been sold here.

That is interesting. I did not know that.
What’s with the latex gloves, are you allergic to Festool .😂😂😂
I want the focus to be on the tool. Not on the finger I partially cut off while working on a car in high school.
@@daddysharespace I had not noticed the injured finger. My uncle lost two plus part of a thumb in his years as a cabinet maker.
Sometimes you learn the hard way.
Hi vacancy Amazon
I am unsure of what your question is.
Thanks for checking out the video.
