- Well, finally got around to finishing that. Don't be fooled by the "Meet the..." template, it's not a Meet the Engineer redux. Enjoy!
Here's a bit of backstory:
"For reasons unknown, B.L.U. have been gaining a lot of wind lately. Their morale is so high, none of R.E.D.'s efforts are enough to keep them at bay. Luckily, Cowboygineer, an Engi who didn't have much of an interest in his profession, had set out to capture and tame the fabled Rabid Heavy a few months ago. His teammates mocked him, dismissing its existence as a mere myth.
Well, now he's back... and he's got news for them."

2:17 Mauls attention to detail is impeccable. From what iv gathered, this pyro and soldier were pretty good friends. Its subtle but its there. Even right after the soldier gets fucking slaughtered, the pyro was grieving for a second. You know, before HE got eviscerated.

I just love how **HEAVY** he feels.
Canonically, due to the way he uses his revolver, and how he rapidly fired at the heads of the medic and the engineer, the rabid heavy taming engineer is from call of Juarez: bound in blood.

Another good use is hiding from the enemy HP scan at the start of respawn. I pulled of a tactic where I would hide a sniper and let myself get shot and use the dash to move about.
Superish Star Warriah I honestly got fooled by that, I was playing scout and I saw a hoovy and decided to avoid him. And then he backstabbed me during a fight.
Friendly reminder that this is a prime example of why you NEVER underestimate any Engineer without his sentries. His shotgun and pistol are more than enough to whoop your ass.

I just want to take a moment to appreciate how smooth and fluid the transition from the Axtinguisher into the Pain Train was at 2:24.
Also a few seconds after, when he gets slashed, his head changes from normal to undead.

so many parts of this made me wheeze, but so many others made me honestly so impressed. the fight scene between blu engie and the Rabid Heavy Taming Engineer was so good, but the part where BLU scout slowly walked away after seeing Rabid Heavy made me wheeze so hard- and don't even get me STARTED on the ending-- I just realized this is 9 years old. ITS STILL SO GOOD

Wow this is my favourite sfm animation of all time i watched this so many times and yet i just realised that the rabid heavy taming engineer actually uses 6 shots from 2:57 to 4:07 its crazy to think how many little things crash maul did so the sfm feels realistic, good job Crash Maul!!

The prologue to this is a big improvement over rise of the epic scout's. That one is funny, but it feels like it drags a little. This one isn't just shorter, but every shot in it (and in the rest of the short for that matter) is filled with something interesting. Crash seriously has potential as a professional animator.

The rabid heavy would've dodged it the second time it attempts to airblast him because the rabid heavy is actually able to OUTSMART a human like he did with the heavy in this short, he also can learn from his mistakes and if he can survive an EXPLOSION, WITHOUT A SCRATCH MIND YOU, then pyro wouldn't be able to EVEN BRUISE him.

I'm guessing the cowboy engie vocal cord got damaged while taming the rabid heavy which is why he doesn't talk.
fun fact: dogs can only see the colors blue and yellow, so thats probably the inspiration for the heavys vision

I just noticed how the axe-tinguisher turns into the pain train. Goes to shiw ya how fast motion can have any small detail go unnoticed. This video is always gonna be my favorite of the series of "heroes".

Crash made Pyro's axe into The Pain Train so that it would look like the Axe is broken after it hit Heavy's head
Another detail is that when Heavy slap Pyro's head, he made Pyro head into a zombie version so it would look like Pyro's helmet got ripped off along with head mask

4:35 Bruh for YEARS I’ve misinterpreted this scene. I thought that Rabid Heavy punched the Pyro’s head so far that it just straight exploded, and the other mercs behind him had mismatched heads purely for comedic reasons.
But now I realized, Rabid Heavy punched the Pyro’s head with so much force that it went flying back and slammed into the merc behind him, displacing their head and so forth! That’s really hilarious and clever and somehow this short keeps giving me new things to enjoy.
