PLEASE HELP...im in nevada and this year's heat has totally burned my yucca. I took it all the way down to the stalk; not knowing if i was suppose to. I did this first week of July and its now 1st wk of Aug and i dont see any new growth; did i kill it? The heat is still burtal here but im still watering the stalk hoping for a miracle. I was told Its a Yucca Gloriosa, TYIA 😊
Wow I thought yuccas were a lot tougher than that. I hope it pulls through for you!
The part that you cut off, can you plant that again ???
That’s what I’m wanting too know! My landlord cut one down at a lot they’re remodeling that is about 5 foot tall I took it and potted it tonight I’m so hoping it will grow roots but I’m not sure if it will. If anyone knows let me know. I’ll come back in a few weeks and update.
Absolutely 👍 just let the cutting sit out of the sun for a day or two to let the end of the cutting dry out so it doesn’t rot. Then put it in a pot or ground
@@gardenknocks Thanks so much! It took a few hours to get it all trimmed up but it looks incredible now. A night and day difference, I’m so excited too watch it take root and enjoy it’s new home. Thanks so much for letting us know!

What if I chop off a sad looking shoot? Will that encourage new shoots
I’m my experience, it will encourage a new shoot
how doninmake it branch more, without cutting it ?:) any ideas ?
I don’t know sorry
What the what?!?! 🤷
Cool hey 😎
Please don't plant yucca. They become a fkn monstrosity very quickly, and can no longer be removed - especially if you have a small yard. They are neither pretty or fruitful.
I mostly agree with you, they sure are hard to dig out of the ground
