hehe, 7 string guitar goes CHUG CHUG CHUG
my ROFL Copter goes SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI
0-0-0-0
They all go chug chug when I play lol
the 7 sounds unbelievably good, but as usual with this channel, everything sounds great!
This guy can play a tissue box guitar with shoe strings and sound amazing lol
Both sounds great. The high note variation on the 6 string is cool, but its hard to beat the growl of the low notes on the 7 string.
As someone that's a fan of power metal and NWOBHM, I like the brighter tone that comes out of most six strings in Standard, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't loving the chugs.
seriously, the better I get at guitar, the more impressive your videos become. Thank you. keep grindin', keep playin'
I liked the first part on the 7 with the second part on the 6
A great way to get a heavier sound with the 6 string is to change the root note to an inverted powerchord so it kinda sounds like a low A 3 note powerchord without the lowest note
Can we get a tutorial on turn-arounds. Like at the end of the progression you had little arpeggios. What do you call them?
Fills and breaks and embelishments also turn arounds work but i think of that more of if u have something a bit loopy then use a "turn around" to bring the riff to the start point again
@@tohellandbacknoface4091 Ah okay thanks fills and breaks are the termsI'm looking for. I will research, never understood how they were built.
@@opteron4 yea instead of chugging that chord again more time he replaced it with an embellishment that took up the same amount of time before the next chord. As for the notes any that sound good and u can reach fast enough. could be an arpeggio or just a run. Definitely learn about time. I’m not qualified really to give music advice but I tried
Use an arpeggio based on the major chord on the perfect 5th scale interval, the diminished on the natural 7th, or the major (or minor!) on the flat 7th.
There are other things you can do, but this is good fundamental vocabulary.
That was rad on both! I love it. Still eating up all these new ideas and trying to learn how to do some of them.
Such a cool idea for a song
6 string enters, 7 string punches itself through the audio stream and they continue to butt heads throughout the song
If you had a bassist playing along with the 6 string, it would still work out pretty well I think. I prefer the 7 still
i used to see your videos in shorts or memes but im proud that your videos come up in search keep up the great work
7 for chugs; 6 for clarity. Both beautiful
I can't not love both thanks to how they are put together in this video.
I would love to see you release some 7 string tutorials... and I'll bet others would to!!!
Awesome playing as always! Would you say that you have to play completely differently if you have a 7-string? Or can you intuitively change between that and a classic 6-string?
I can't choose - they both go together so well...
Ya see this is why I always say 6 string, a baritone 6 & 7s are all played differently. 6 allows you to get more high notes into the structure while on a 7 it’s easier to get more low notes in. Baritone 6 makes it comfortable for both. If chord structures is what you’re after a baritone 6 is the way too go. 7 is if you want the extended range for riff then soloing
After getting my 7 String Jackson FR7 With Fishmans & A Floyd Rose Theres Absolutely No Comparison To A 6 Difference Is Like Night & Day🤘
Man im fkck im love with te riff
Both versions have a place.
If you want "modern" metal and the guitar is the focal point (at most there are sprinkles of synths/keys) -- 7 string it is or downtune.
If you want a more classic sound, and you have an orchestra-load of *other instruments* to mix/balance and exchange solos: the six string would be easier to fit. Just my 2 cents.
en que afinación tienes la guitarra de 7 cuerdas??
PD: las dos suenan geniales, pero la de 7 cuerdas... es increíble!
Would you be able to combine the beat of both worlds with a baritone with a combo of light & heavy gauge strings?
You could also tune a six string to B standard. Only difference between that and a 7 string, is that you dont have the high E, and the G string is tuned to F#.
Would they both sound the same if we used the same amp? aside from the lack of a high E and the F#
I can see/*hear where this is going...and I 100% stand by.
What string gauge you use in seven string guitar?
Beast
What kind of technique do you call 0:39 ?
How can I get dat Metronome pls?
Both!!
Ramro
annoying how the beeps are in a different key
I'm topically more of a low tuned extendo range kinda guy but the 6 version felt more ... Right? I guess? Idk how to articulate what I'm trying to say
Both is good
6 would sound better with bass playing behind it
It's honestly clearer on the 6 string.
Maybe if we tuned up a step on a 7 string do the lowest string were a D#/Eb and everything relative standard or drop tuned.
Why are you able to change the higher notes on the 6 string and not the 7
Why don't you mix them?
Same tuning on both guitars? I’d have to say the 7 since that’s what I play
How about 8?
never seen an strat sound good anywhere other than in srv hands
I’d rather have a baritone guitar but I want a 7 string for sure
It depends on what you're doing.
For you I would say 7 string, because your style is the new age stuff.
Can't wait to see what you can do with an 8 string
You can play both versions on the 7 string, more flexibility
Maybe both…. One for core Djent arrangements and one for higher strings harmonics.
To be real i prefer u on the 7. Ur riffs suit that sound
La de trastes inclinados.
Nos vemos en el futuro...
7 string is a Queen
Interesanteeee
The 7-string has a dirty maple board and the 6-string clean board
Both of guitars are multiscale? What's the tunning on 6 strings and gauges? What's the amp sim settings and IR?
no, only the 7 string is multiscale
@@mysteryfish2043 What is multi scale?
@@james737er Do you see the frets on the 7 string that are all wonky and sideways? That's due to the guitar being multiscale. Basically the frets divide each string at different points which presumably gives better intonation.
I wanna slap the man who made the six string the standard for the whole world. 7 string, is just... right. It should have always been.
Both are great but six string lacks some bass that 7 string is giving to the riff
So 7 string wins but overall both sounds good
7!
Can't you play both variations on the 7 string? Having the 7th string doesn't mean you still can play the upper registers, it means you could in theory do both...
What did we learn today? If you intend to play only 0s dont buy a 7 string.. unless you're this legend lol
Ok so, can you not play everything from the 7 strings on a 6 string?
Not without dramatically drop tuning the 6 string, which is why a 7 string does make it nicer to have. Also, sometimes a 7-string can add more lower depth when full chords are being played.
@@chidorisnake22 i know it makes sense, my bad, I meant the other way around haha as in...why wouldnt I get a 7th string over a 6th
Would you ever get an 8
Both are great but the 6 string with higher notes sounds more complete, therefore better.
For that riff, the 7 string for sure.
Hmmm i think people here are overlooking something. Unless im blind the 6 string has single coil pickups of course its not gonna be as chonky as humbuckers and will instead have that bright tone of a single coil
his bridge pickup on the 6 string is a humbucker
@@Solifuga Really? My mistake then it looked like a single coil
7 strings go BRRRR
7 no doubt
I prefer you 🔥🥰
Okey I get it….I’ll buy a seven string..
7 I love the low end that only a 7 gets
Sounds like Mastodon
i prefer 7string guitar because u can improve with a lot more, maybe u said that u cant play high notes anymore, but u can change the tunnings to have both guitars in one, maybe the thickness of the strings can affect, but u can change it i dont know...
the 6 string
I prefer the 6 string because I've gotten tired of the sound of downtuned metal. There's a reason bass exists and guitar is actually a quite low instrument anyway. Riffs on 6 strings can cut better through the mix, rather than have everything occupy the 100Hz zone.
The answer is one string.
Generally prefer the 6 string sound
The 7 string is like tryna be a bass at the same time but a real bass guitar would have done the job better imo
7-string sounds more like a bass and get you away from the melody
6 string gives more sense to me
for this kind of music, 7 string all the way. In the switch you can notice the lack of balls on the 6 string :D for anything funk, blues whatever the 6 is the way to go
7 not even close with the 6
7 string best ))))
I have 7 string
