    Both sounds great. The high note variation on the 6 string is cool, but its hard to beat the growl of the low notes on the 7 string.

    As someone that's a fan of power metal and NWOBHM, I like the brighter tone that comes out of most six strings in Standard, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't loving the chugs.

    A great way to get a heavier sound with the 6 string is to change the root note to an inverted powerchord so it kinda sounds like a low A 3 note powerchord without the lowest note

      Fills and breaks and embelishments also turn arounds work but i think of that more of if u have something a bit loopy then use a "turn around" to bring the riff to the start point again

      @@opteron4 yea instead of chugging that chord again more time he replaced it with an embellishment that took up the same amount of time before the next chord. As for the notes any that sound good and u can reach fast enough. could be an arpeggio or just a run. Definitely learn about time. I’m not qualified really to give music advice but I tried

    • @MadassAlex
      @MadassAlex Рік тому +1

      Use an arpeggio based on the major chord on the perfect 5th scale interval, the diminished on the natural 7th, or the major (or minor!) on the flat 7th.
      There are other things you can do, but this is good fundamental vocabulary.

    Ya see this is why I always say 6 string, a baritone 6 & 7s are all played differently. 6 allows you to get more high notes into the structure while on a 7 it’s easier to get more low notes in. Baritone 6 makes it comfortable for both. If chord structures is what you’re after a baritone 6 is the way too go. 7 is if you want the extended range for riff then soloing

    If you want "modern" metal and the guitar is the focal point (at most there are sprinkles of synths/keys) -- 7 string it is or downtune.
    If you want a more classic sound, and you have an orchestra-load of *other instruments* to mix/balance and exchange solos: the six string would be easier to fit. Just my 2 cents.

    Не вводи людей в заблуждение, это попытка перенести то что придумано для 7 струнной гитары на 6 струнную. Естественно это не совсем переносимо, только с какими то упрощениями. Мало того что сама 7 струна дает то звучание которое недоступно для 6 струнной. Но есть миллионы музыкальных треков написанных для 6 струнной гитары и они звучат отлично, так что ограничение только в твоей голове.

      @@ivango2006 На 6 нот больше хотел сказать, мозг глюкнул.
      Что в моём утверждение субъективно? Большенство нового прог метала играется с семиструннами и восьмиструнами и даже больше, смысл в том что дополнительные струны толще и в некоторых случаях длинее чем на 6 струнной, из за этого понижать тон можно куда дальше чем на обычной.
      Можно конечно ставить такие же толстые струнны на 6 струнной, но придется жертвовать то ли большим количеством высоких нот, то ли играть придется ближе к корпусу, где лады узще и к примеру мажоры с корнем на пятой струнне одна пытка играть.
      В то время как на 7 и больше струнной гитаре ты получаешь низкие тона без того что бы сильно понижать тон на всех струннах, не надо переучивать песни что знаешь на более узких ладах и получаешь значительно больше простора, что в этом всём "субъективно"? 7 струнные гитары из за всех этих причин и были созданы.
