I don't know how I didn't come across that when researching the video, the UA-camr Goose Boose has made a great video about it, so watch that if you're interested! Also, Demonophobia is chinese not japanese.
I actually played JFK reloaded a lot as a teen (I know, I know). One thing you left out, is that for the first month or so of its existence, they had a high-score contest running, where you could win $100,000 (with your score based on how closely you replicated the Warren Comission's findings, where 1000 points meant it was exactly as they said) The winner was a 16 year old french boy, who I believe scored in the high 960s, literally the last day of the competition. Unfortunately for him, the game sold extremely poorly, and they literally did not have $100,000 to give him. In the end, he received $10,000 instead. The company _almost_ went on to create Princess Diana Reloaded, but after the Massachusetts House of Representatives presented them with an official condemnation for JFK Reloaded, they bailed on the idea.
Take this with a grain of salt but iirc, part of the reason the game exists was as an “educational tool” to prove the official claims of JFK’s assassination, only for nobody in the history of the game to be able to get a perfect score, possibly accidentally (or maybe intentionally idk the devs intentions) proving that the FBI’s reports were either inaccurate or purposely hiding information
*Presents gameplay footage of a game that's said to have illegal content in it.* "Hold up-" (In all seriousness, while most (if not all) of it is pre-existing footage, I can only imagine the depths you'd have to go to get it all and edit out the non-YT safe parts.)
Just like that one episode of southpark where Randy thinks Stan's mom is overexaggerating cause she is on her period when the others are just desensitized to all the school shootings the last week.
wow look at how many fanboys postal has, what a garbage game series. all of the keys to the unreal engine 1 kingdom, and the graphics sucked ass. postal devs are worthless.
JFK reloaded sounds actually a fun game, basically a 1 person shooter where you have to kill important dudes If it ever had a full version with other important peoples:(
The actor of the protagonist in Harvester was convicted for possessing CP, served time and has to register as a child sex offender. In his sex offender photo, no bullshit and dead serious, he’s wearing that same exact flannel he wears in the game.
I remember Hatred, not for people being shocked but for people clowning on the cringey grim dark feel of the game. It did not feel any more rebellious than a teen boy wearing pentagrams and yelling that “you’re not the boss of me!” before slamming the door to his room.
its basically if you took the entire mental insanity plot from Portal 1, removed it, and only kept the mass murdering instead. such a weak and forced game its not even worth to be considered "shocking" to anyone who actually knows how "shock value" should be used in order to be good
@@alomon7738 You tell me: Im not a fan of obesity nor bald eagles. I'm more like a fan of tacos and cartels. It's both: different culture and different values. These games are very niche, there's next to no chance little Timmy will pick up a copy of Euphoria or Grapelay. Meanwhile GTA always had crazy outreach since III. Every single kid knew about it and thought it was the coolest thing ever.
@@mariano1196 GTA is very much glorified, action-movie violence that kids would find cool. while the stuff in this list is targeted to different groups or graphically sexual. So it’s hard to see a kid being interested in something like that to begin with
I thought exactly the same. However, people thinking "cartoon = must be for kids" feels really outdated as there's clearly an absolute tonne of cutesy looking dark cartoon stuff out there that's not only enjoyed by adults, but was also never intended to be for children in the first place either.
The Kawaii Killer one is quite odd to me because I swear Happy Tree Friends had a bunch of mobile games on the App Store, yet none were removed. Like the game looks a bit corny and it’s just wannabe edge lord fuel, but it is annoying when a piece of media has to be punished due to the negligence of parents monitoring their kids
idk i think its a tad unfair to put rapeplay with no real people in it- next to something that had real gore-cp, or even the wild racism and school shooter games. that definitely feels like ( the subject matter is simply too uncomfy to tolerate) and less a real outrage. the plot can be crazy as its just some childish porno- you kinda expect nonsense. the others were much less comfy because they have a direct line to something real- simply not being able to exist without some objectively spiteful intentions. a game were your character loses clothes is a cheesy game trope( a childish and not easy to sit through one) but it cant seriously take a spot next to a psychopaths fever dream and hitler audio. its that added meta that truly makes you feel its earned its scorn. illusion simply doesnt fit here theyre a corny porno developer you get some wild plots in hentai and theres a dash of understanding that these are wild for the sake of standing out. .
@@36inc But the racist ass shooter games also have no real people in them? I don't really understand your point. They're both simulating terrible things [racial hate crimes, raping children] so what makes them so different? Rapelay isn't based directly on some event, sure, but then shit like Ethnic Cleansing isn't based on anything that actually happened either, it's just a "fever dream" as you said. I'm personally on the side that all media like this should get an AO slapped on it but then be allowed to exist, but I'm also not convinced that virtual hate crimes are unthinkably obscene but virtual CP is "cheesy game tropes".
The dead body in Hong Kong 97 has long been identified, it comes from a documentary depicting war aftermaths. Also, "Deng Xiao Ping" is no misspelling, many chinese words have multiple ocidental spelling variations as they're just phonetic approximations to the real word. So Tong, Dong, Dang, Tang, Deng and many others can be considered correct spellings of the word "鄧"
Arguably the only reason rapelay achieved any infamy was its title. After rapelay, Japanese games banned the word "rape" in all game titles which is why there was never another controversy (at least as big as this one).
I've played Rapelay. Ran like shit and even without the content, it's just not fun to play. Got to your desktop, click on random spots, then slide your pointer back and forth. You've now experienced the actual gameplay of that impressively shite game.
There should definitely be an iceberg for controversies with developers in games, such as valves “ nightmare folder “ or how they used the real corpse of a guy to make a model.
@@elschaettyThe company Valve used to model the dead bodies using actual gore images, example: the burnt corpse in HL2 uses a face of a real burning victim, but slightly edited. They stopped doing that.

The best part about the JFK game you forgot to mention is that despite being made to prove the investigations behind his death correct, no one has made the shot 100% accurately as what happened in real life.

I've never touched it, but you can buy euphoria still. Hell, you can buy a more disturbing game by the same dev on disc. Tbh i feel this is a very amercan values ranking for most of this list
i was a stone cold statue through all of these, but “FUN” actually made me physically sick to my stomach, to the point where i could genuinely puke if i wanted to, how could anyone even imagine their mother like that, also, the community surrounding it posting photos of them drawing “im having fun” just adds to the general disgust i feel
For real, everything else in this list is relatively mild or just controversial. Compared that with FUN, which even contained real disturbing pictures of dead women combined with the sick theme, its on a whole another level.
Someone can correct me if I'm mis-remembering, but iirc the purpose of 177 was to satirize Japan's antiquated SA laws at the time. I remember reading somewhere that the "good ending" was meant to be a reductio ad absurdum pointing out how messed up the law was; the law said something like if a woman had "felt pleasure" during an assault, it wasn't SA. So the game points out how ridiculous this law is by saying the woman "felt pleasure" if you catch her, which is why she marries you if you catch her but you go to jail if you don't. So from what I remember, the game isn't really "promoting assault" as much as it is protesting the law that could've allowed a perp to get off by basically arguing the victim wanted it. Now, I think making that point in the form of a game is still in poor taste and can backfire and be harmful way too easily, but it at least helps explain why the game exists. At the same time, Custer's Revenge exists and there was no comprehensible explanation for that one...
I remember hearimg somewhete that it wasn't that. Apparently, the manual for the game said the purpose was for people to explore and enjoy that type of fantasy in game rather than go out and do it in real life. It's fucked, really really fucked.
And at least 177 wasn't based on a specific horrible real life person...it's still definitely distasteful but at least it's entirely fictional, unlike Custer's Revenge
Nah, rape statements aside, I can easily imagine how 80s developers would feel about living in the 1700s and going around naked having their way with the indigenous women.
@@pianoman1718 Thats also kinda ironic, as any person who'se extremely psychologically demented, playing a game like that would probably give them the motivation needed to do such crimes in real life.
Hatred is still available on Steam. Now I'm not sure if it's edited down to MA-17, but it's there and on sale for $3.89. Probably like most adult games on Steam somewhere has a mod that restores it to its disturbing glory.
Rapelay’s endings are weird because they both punish the perp. It’s clearly aware of how the subject matter is viewed, which leads me to wonder if that’s also part of the appeal
yea me too.. but the fact that you spend the whole game playing as him kind of makes me think it was never really a big part of the appeal, too.. it’s giving me really mixed signals
Yeah like I wonder who the hell the target audience even is for. Like, even if you’re a sick fuck who likes groping 12 year olds the rapist you play as both die horribly in the end anyway. But it’s clearly not like a message entirely against is since the game is clearly fetishizing rape so I have no idea
@@keeperfan1315 I think it's more of getting your rocks off from noncon stuff, THEN washing yourself clean with them endings once the post-nut clarity hits. I think.
I think it is. Interact Play VR(It's predecessor) has a similar story structure where the perp gropes, assaults and then blackmails all of the girls but the ending ultimately winds up with him arrested and losing both his hands ironically from a subway train accident, that and the perp also can get arrested violently if they make the wrong choices, but ultimately the perp will always wind up punished. I think Rapelay and Interact Play VR show that ultimately those horrid actions lead to karma on the perp's end, but later games I feel they wanted to have replay value without the worry of being punished for their actions, so they ommited them in later games
Hello! I just wanted to let you know that there’s a Spanish-speaking content creator named "Explorando Icebergs" who has made a video that’s almost identical to yours. They made only minimal changes, but the order of the iceberg, the games, and the narration are basically the same. I compared both videos and the only difference is the language. They’re claiming the iceberg as their own, and their video was uploaded months after yours. I hope you see this because you deserve the credit for your work. Wishing you all the best! Edit: I just checked and the thumb-nail is the same one too! He just translated it.

As someone who's pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, I can tell you that it takes a lot of mental work to make video games to begin with, like doing the coding stuff and all. The fact that some individuals made such disturbing games makes me think what was going on in their minds when they were making these. Edit: Though I'm glad to see many people who agree with the fact that it's messed up, I'm literally baffled by how some people in the replies went to some lengths to actually defend stuff like these. And those who claim making games is "easy", especially for the older titles has clearly never made or worked on making any games themselves. Even if you used some so-called "game making" software for modern titles that doesn't "require any code", you still need to figure things out like the gaming mechanics, levels, plot (if any), etc. and you have to put all those pieces together. Easier said than done. The older titles were obv harder to make given limited tech at the time. P.S. Excuse my English. It ain't my first language.
I can tell you what was NOT going through their minds: "How are my family and friends gonna feel about me making this?" You know why? BECAUSE THEY DON'T FUCKING HAVE ANY!! (Maniacal Hyena-like Laughter)
Why does there have to be something negative going on in their head? Just because someone creates something edgy or cringe doesn't mean they're fucked up in the head. The same goes for those of us who enjoy dark works of fiction.
@@StudleyDuderight some of these games have real life imagery of gore and . worse . "dark works of fiction" doesnt apply to that. something has to be seriously wrong in order to enjoy the suffering of real people. i dont think you should conflate general horror with depravity. and if you disagree when it comes to REAL LIFE disgusting shit, then i suggest taking a moment to log off, sit with that and think about how the general population would feel about your opinion.
1st off, congrats on your pursuit of accomplishments thus far for your degree, & I totally agree with your comment. as a Game dev myself, it is NOT easy coding, creating content, animation, story ,list goes on. and it takes a very heavy mental toll on ya if your not careful. if study hard enough and knowing what to look for, you will see how their mentality effects the developer the more you progression through the game. so yes for them to produce these kinda game tells me that they put ALOT of thought and planing to secretly hiding in their games
@4:40 Unfortunately, the actor who played Steve (the appearance not voice) was arrested and sentenced for CP related charges. I guess the residents of Harvest were a little off and should've said, "You always were a diddler, Steve"
In Japan, everyone is the target audience of the "kawaii" aesthetic, not just children. There are entire towns that market themselves as "kawaii" despite having little to nothing specifically for children
Also it's a very clear "happy tree friends" kinda aesthetic. It shouldn't be taken down anywhere for being a fruit ninja spoof with the "cute, but horror, ooh" kinda twist. That whole point sounded like "angry parents didn't supervise their children and cancelled a game".
yeah. kawaii is just japanese for cute. lots of people in all countries love cute aesthetics; some of which are more cartoony like HTF, some more focused on fashion, some based on bright or pastel colour schemes. it's a pretty cool aesthetic and honestly very annoying how often fun aesthetics are categorized as "just for kids or teens."

And yet they still screwed up Honey Come by using the new Unity pipeline tech, which is literally what killed them after releasing Room Girl. They refuse to learn.
@WispyBlueBricksGPX To be fair, by the time RapeLay was released, not only you could not purchase it in the West, you needed Windows to be in Japanese or be emulated in Japanese to play. There's something there about how coyness and shame around sexuality result in slightly deviant sexual acts being considered worse and more shocking than terrible life altering non-sexual violence, but we're not gonna find that in a silly iceberg video lol
Gore and violence is easier to integrate into a game, unlike sexuality themes.... Just look at many +18 game publishers, they BARELY revolve around the Triple X topic, and the gameplay is more focused around puzzle solving or other gimmicks... I played fps games since i was 8 years old, as of now i consider myself to be a pretty normal person, if id have played one of these disgusting rape games instead then i probably wouldve went in a much worse direction
@@jellifygirlmost of these games involve far worse than just "slightly" deviant aspects, also sex crimes have always been viewed as worse, the reason for that is because humans who arent depraved see sex crimes as far more disturbing and irredeemable than a shooting or stabbing, its for this same reason that in quite a few countries and cultures (most notably the middle east) if a woman is raped or sexually assualted then her father or partner would often kill her, himself and their close relatives to put them all out of their misery, equally victims of such crimes usually end up falling victim to their own mind sooner or later as do their family members (who's mental states are shattered far more from a sex related crime than a non-sex related crime)
Ethnic Cleansing is so funny because it took me a long time first time I heard of its content to figure out if it was made by a racist group, or if it was made to mock them. Worst part about Hatred was that for all the shock value it was clearly trying to sell itself with, it had nothing to show for it when all was said and done because the game is allegedly pretty boring.
it is. Its basically postal 1 without the depth the story and the character had. or in other words, if a edgy cringe kid was a game developer and loved postal 1 a lot.

I played manhunt and the sequel and I think the only reason it was controversial was because of when it was released otherwise the story is pretty solid by modern sensibilities. Enemies are definitely bad people and the protagonist is exactly the same. Black mirror did episodes called white bear and shut up and dance which had a similar portrayal of the ethics shown in the game and were widely accepted despite their bleak endings.
Manhunt was released when America's "violent video games will turn kids into school shooters" moral panic was at its peak, which probably contributed to Manhunt's reputation more than the actual contents of the game itself.

I'm kinda surprised The Hospital wasn't on this list. It was a really bad horror game that tried to compensate with using just actual images of gore as jumpscares. The fact that the ending of postal had to be re-done to maintain its level of shock and disgust in the modern day because school shootings are just a fact of life now is monumentally depressing.
That's the thing. It isn't. It isn't depressing. As time moves on you get used to it. In school, we always had a fear it might happen. Day by day that feeling lessens, and it becomes a fact of life. You focus on your responsibilities and just hope that never happens. I see it as the consequences of childhood trauma, for the individuals to commit such acts. I've seen plenty of students have terrible lives and just continuously suffering from their terrible upbringing
More probably the game was designed to make people react negatively, so they changed the ending with a story that was also designed to make people react negatively.
Holy crap, you really nailed why it’s depressing. Seeing it become an inevitable possibility, low but never 0, but also saying it’s not depressing because you just become numb to it.

Honorable mentions: 'Flappy Bird'; it started out as a faithful port of 'Flappy Bird' using the Scratch engine, but a few years ago, it was hacked to include Ronnie McNutt's suicide as a game over screen. 'Mario3.exe'; SomeOrdinaryGamers played it 8 years ago. It's a Gamejolt game and .exe adaption of 'Super Mario Bros. 3'. Riddled with cheap jumpscares, one of them is an actual gore image of a woman's head split open. 'The Hospital'; a horror game that Markiplier played ages ago. @smallgreenflies yeah the internet from the early 2000's to early 2010's had alot of historical content like that at one time popular youtubers put that stuff in their memes on youtube
The first few games like cry of fear and harvester actually sound kind of interesting. Especially since theyre different from the "oohhhh lets make this edgy game where we can kill a shit ton of people for no reason!" And actually have a storyline
there's a great video on Cry of Fear by Pyrocynical if you're interested in more things about the game. It's genuinely a well made video game (and Pyro's video is also really good)
Absolute don. Comes out of the woodwork with a banger of a video. No text to speech, no overbearing soundtrack. Just straight wall to wall content, information and context. Drops this banger of a video with no subscribers, gains 2K in 1 day. Refuses to elaborate. A king amongst mere men
The fact the video features REAL voiceover and not TTS crap new creators seem obsessed with was a big plus for me. I would have thought we outgrew that shit in the 2010s at latest but here we are. At least we sometimes get gems like this.
I just can't wrap my mind around the "Lolita" genre....and the fact that Enix produced a game like that really makes me second guess playing anything they ever produced thereafter...
I often click low view count when i get recommended them since they sometimes are hilarious BUT the point is more so. Often not the worst part of those videos is either poor audio mastering or unclear goal when doing lists or video essays. You were perfect on those parts. Subbed for more.
Great video. I've actually played JFK Reloaded when I was an edgy teenager, lol. I think it's worth noting that it has a special "chaotic" mode that makes the whole assassination look cartoony and farcical rather than horrific. I guess that could've added to the controversy.
I've casually watched the whole thing and then he said it's his FIRST VIDEO!? Wow dude, really nice work for the first one. I watch a lot of iceberg videos and I never seen this particular set of games anywhere. Good job dude 👍
Most of these are fine and I’m ok with watching the entries being explained with no issue, but fun genuinely made me feel sick. The fact that someone could make a game so horrifying is absolutely evil Great video btw, and the fact it’s only your first is crazy, keep up the good work
So wait, a game where your whole objective is to catch and rape a woman is fine (with several of these games depicting rape), but "Fun" is too much? Whys that the line?
We've all committed all manner of warcrimes and attrocities in Command & Conquer titles, shooters, zombiegames and what have you. Comparing that to doxxing, school shootings, and swatting however, abruptly brings into stark contrast the difference between bad things, and cartoon depictions **OF** bad things. If you have to choose between Sandy Hook being a game, or Sandy Hook being historical fact, you WOULD choose the game rather than the massacre. It's all about perspective 😉

I remember seeing things about Euphoria when I was wayyy too young, and I was horrified by men on forums making fun of the underage girls suffering in the game. There really is a theme revolving around seeing young girls suffer and be tortured. Pretty harrowing discovery for a young girl at the time. I wish more people would talk about this. Congrats on your first video btw! I was shocked to find out you werent doing this for a while
if it helps giving context, one of the "girls" in the story was designed to be self-entitled and insufferable, and another has an objective of making you hate her. the enjoyment of those men on the forums are likely expressions of justice and revenge... unless they're talking about any of the other heroines. most of the story happens in a simulation-dream, and the player character is being groomed into a sadist. half of the heroines don't have a person behind them - they're entirely simulated - which includes the insufferable girl. however, those girls would have had to been redeemed in the player's eyes for them to have also known the truth about the "game" (but you'd still end up hating the true mastermind of this twisted game), so those forum posters didn't know. you only really win if you avoid becoming a sadist, and after you have learned the truth about yourself (the player character), the dream machine, and the girl who is at the heart of it. while the initial theme seems like it's about seeing girls tortured, it ultimately turns around on it and has you try to end all the suffering. it's a story with a lot of twists, from setting to theme (Saw -> Mad Max -> Stanley Parable -> Matrix), which is probably why anyone would defend the original visual novel at all. i'm not saying this to change your mind about this controversial title, but perhaps it would give you some slight peace of mind what was going on in the minds of some of those men (I won't deny that there might have been some genuine ryona enjoyers among them).
@@Kensuke0987 I don't think this is really helpful in the context of the original poster, because those people were explicitly making fun of their suffering. Even selfish entitled girls deserve compassion and respect. While the deeper meaning may have been that even virtual girls deserve kindness, that went over a lot of people's heads. Men are a scary thing in this world, especially for a young girl. The people on those forums were most likely projecting their insecurity as rage and wrath, not justice and revenge. It's not justified, especially in this context, like what the fuck
@@Matrix2458 it's not so complicated as if there were any insecurity to project. the way they were written at that point iirc, you're made to hate them like you would hate a Nazi or a Klan member (or whatever hateful person you could think of). it would have been weirder to be apathetic about it while having no prior knowledge of the story (they're redeemed later on). for the other men (or women because they exist), the suffering is a kink (aka ryona). that said, not all of the torture were shocking/disgusting/disturbing. i remember there was one which was just literally tickling.

Mental health professional here (22 years). every single disturbing game is called "the most violent game in history!!!" by these media jackals. what's the saying? "if it bleeds, it leads". that's the gold standard of journalism, but they want to portray video games as destructive and a cause of, or at least an aggravating factor for, modern violence. well, look up as many studies as you like. they return nearly identical results each time: video games don't cause or worsen violence, just like TV and movies don't. besides, by labeling something "the most violent ever", they're just making it more attractive to people. dear pearl-clutching news outlets: you're giving them tons of free advertising! if people don't like it, then don't play it. i liked Manhunt, but i don't play games like Hatred because i find them a little disturbing. if you want to enjoy games like that, go for it. believing video games "cause violence" is like believing they can CURE violence. if they can cause it, can't they cure it? couldn't they have such a profound positive effect on mental health? but we have no evidence of that, so we don't report on it. just like they shouldn't be reporting about imaginary negative effects video games have on players. i'm not big on wild conspiracy theories, but sometimes i wonder if there are arrangements or contracts to purposely raise outcry about these games in order to promote them and pump up sales.
What happens is that disturbed individuals simply gravitate to violent media then commit criminal acts. Violent media does not CAUSE a deviant mind, it just draws them in. Media picks this up and links them together in a twisted and wrong order of cause and effect. Same goes for all media, music, movies.
THANK YOU. finally some common sense. I've never understood why any of these games are illegal in certain countries. Some of them are disturbing and repulse me but at the end of the day they're fictional. And aside from the ones using REAL imagery and sounds.... banning them only makes them more appealing to people and make people wanna seek them out.
Thats what I said. Illusion is actually a very popular adult only game studio, and the things it depicts are common fetishes even if disturbing to most people. If you've seen adult animation there's really nothing out of the ordinary here. Even the darkest one is well known and played. I own hatred, its disturbing at first then very boring when you realize most violence needs context in gaming to be fun, otherwise its boring.
That reminds me of a thing I saw where one person who shot a school was reported to have played video games, therefore he is violent. You know what he played the most, though? For hours a day? Dance Dance Revolution. One of the most nonviolent games of all time to anyone other than your leg muscles and the floorboards
i’m surprised you didn’t cover the other game that the studio behind “euphoria” produced a few years later. it’s called “maggot baits” and i would say it is so much more graphic. like on an extreme level. there is also another game in that same genre called “sadistic blood.” this time it’s made by another studio.

I actually played JFK reloaded a lot as a teen (I know, I know). One thing you left out, is that for the first month or so of its existence, they had a high-score contest running, where you could win $100,000 (with your score based on how closely you replicated the Warren Comission's findings, where 1000 points meant it was exactly as they said)
The winner was a 16 year old french boy, who I believe scored in the high 960s, literally the last day of the competition.

@@poroporo8859 why would you want to find this game?
It's fucked,really really fucked.
And at least 177 wasn't based on a specific horrible real life person...it's still definitely distasteful but at least it's entirely fictional, unlike Custer's Revenge

Either edginess or they had some shit going on with their lives.
1st off, congrats on your pursuit of accomplishments thus far for your degree, & I totally agree with your comment. as a Game dev myself, it is NOT easy coding, creating content, animation, story ,list goes on. and it takes a very heavy mental toll on ya if your not careful. if study hard enough and knowing what to look for, you will see how their mentality effects the developer the more you progression through the game. so yes for them to produce these kinda game tells me that they put ALOT of thought and planing to secretly hiding in

I find it crazy how in the eyes of many gaming studios intense violence is less worse than mediocre sexuality in video games
I agree
There's something there about how coyness and shame around sexuality result in slightly deviant sexual acts being considered worse and more shocking than terrible life altering non-sexual violence, but we're not gonna find that in a silly iceberg video lol
Gore and violence is easier to integrate into a game, unlike sexuality themes.... Just look at many +18 game publishers, they BARELY revolve around the Triple X topic, and the gameplay is more focused around puzzle solving or other gimmicks... Also, I feel the Gorey aspect is a way of protesting inner guilts and such
I played fps games since i was 8 years old, as of now i consider myself to be a pretty normal person, if id have played one of these disgusting rape games instead then i probably wouldve went in a much worse direction

The fact the video features REAL voiceover and not TTS crap new creators seem obsessed with was a big plus for me. I would have thought we outgrew that shit in the 2010s at latest but here we are. At least we sometimes get gems like this.
don't forget about censorship
I just can't wrap my mind around the "Lolita" genre....and the fact that Enix produced a game like that really makes me second guess playing anything they ever produced thereafter...
2:23 ah yes a game with the word "killer" in its name is PERFECT for children.
im happy my mom raised me right, but it really makes me wonder what the hell happened for someone to make any of the games in layer 7
I mean in layer 6 it's also very crucial and abhorrent as well... What is in the brains in this individuals...

thank you 🙏
you check the view counts before clicking a video? why?
This is ur first video? omg keep it up u are talented asf
The fact that someone could make a game so horrifying is absolutely evil
Great video btw, and the fact it’s only your first is crazy, keep up the good work
So wait, a game where your whole objective is to catch and rape a woman is fine (with several of these games depicting rape), but "Fun" is too much? Whys that the line?
This is why the aliens won't talk to us.
i cant believe someone actually sat down and made rapelay.
@@InservioLetum i still cant believe this game was made.

Are you, by any chance, related to that _Minor Attracted Person_ thing? I wouldnt be surprised
I was shocked to find out you werent doing this for a while
saw alot of ppl in this comment section defend it and it grosses me out so bad.. glad to see a sane one here
sorry you experienced that, that's absolutely horrifying
if it helps giving context, one of the "girls" in the story was designed to be self-entitled and insufferable, and another has an objective of making you hate her.
the enjoyment of those men on the forums are likely expressions of justice and revenge... unless they're talking about any of the other heroines.
most of the story happens in a simulation-dream, and the player character is being groomed into a sadist.
half of the heroines don't have a person behind them - they're entirely simulated - which includes the insufferable girl.
however, those girls would have had to been redeemed in the player's eyes for them to have also known the truth about the "game" (but you'd still end up hating the true mastermind of this twisted game), so those forum posters didn't know.
you only really win if you avoid becoming a sadist, and after you have learned the truth about yourself (the player character), the dream machine, and the girl who is at the heart of it. while the initial theme seems like it's about seeing girls tortured, it ultimately turns around on it and has you try to end all the suffering. it's a story with a lot of twists, from setting to theme (Saw -> Mad Max -> Stanley Parable -> Matrix), which is probably why anyone would defend the original visual novel at all.
i'm not saying this to change your mind about this controversial title, but perhaps it would give you some slight peace of mind what was going on in the minds of some of those men (I won't deny that there might have been some genuine ryona enjoyers among them).
Kawaii killer is basically just a textbook definition of the "cutegore" aesthetic.

The media love to overblow just about everything, since reporting "the world's on fire and we're all gonna die" gets them the clicks.
Hatred is such an unintentional comedy, especially the part near the end where Notim Portant sounds exactly like Xavier Renegade Angel
i’m surprised you didn’t cover the other game that the studio behind “euphoria” produced a few years later. it’s called “maggot baits” and i would say it is so much more graphic. like on an extreme level.
there is also another game in that same genre called “sadistic blood.” this time it’s made by another studio.
Yeah, there's a buttload of VNs like that actually-- VN Database lists a lot of them.
