What is the definition of a minor now? And what was the definition of a minor (if there was) a century ago? I would like to see your answer. I hope you don't flip out like the others when I asked a similar question and I hope you actually give a simple, cooherent answer.
If I remember it correctly, the reason "To Catch a Predator" ended was due to how frequently politician and law enforcement gets caught as the suspects.
Apparently it was cancelled due to the incident mentioned in this video and the fallout from the lawsuit his sister levied against the program. I guess one was enough in the end.
However, I believe shaming is one thing but they cannot be jailed for it, because they are in reality not talking to a minor, but a person acting as a minor. So there's no crime committed, no victim, no crime, just your twisted mentality is not enough to get you convicted for a crime you technically didn't even commit.

I remember watching that lost Moment of Truth episode a long time ago I had no idea it was lost and rare. I remember watching the entire episode on the Internet off a website called "Strange Events and Happenings". They asked her if her father ever touched her inappropriately in any way she said no it was true, they asked her if any man touched her or did anything with her when she was underage she said yes and that was true. They asked her if she witnessed minors being touched in that way she said yes that was true. They asked if at any point she was ashamed of the lifestyle of her family she said yes that was true. It was so bizarre because it felt more like an FBI interrogation rather than a gameshow.
Just based off watching the other episodes, they for sure had someone snitching info. The questions are always CRAZY on the show and get oddly personal and specific. It’ll even be down to a super specific embarrassing moment or situation that occurred and seems like NOBODY should know about
It doesnt really matter about the legality, anyone who knew him will know about the show and he wont ever be able to live a normal life with everyone who he knew or in the area. He would need to move elsewhere and change name i would guess. @@jeffdishong4853

She didn't defend him, she was criticizing the show which isn't an insane concept as there is something somewhat questionable about a private studio stinging predators for money. I don't agree with her points but I think you're reading things into it that aren't really there.
@@mattjk5299I think you're technically correct but she still effectively deflected blame over the outcome of the situation from her brother's actions that brought them all to that point to the manner in which the authorities chose to apprehend him. Groupthink and utter shock on the individual level. You know when you hear/say something so shocking, you can't do anything but laugh because you have no idea what to do?

Totally! If it was a stranger and they were sending her kids/grandkids/nephews explicit pictures trying to have sex with them, she would condone a swat team breaching a house to arrest them. Her actions were motivated by money showing the two were perfect for each other, and in my opinion she was likely aware of his behaviour.
The most disturbing lost media to me is the "Toolbox Killer", seeing people running out of the courtroom to vomit and cry, even swaying a prosecutor who was against the death penalty to out right state he should be killed, causing a detective to take his own life.
A transcription of a section of the tapes is available online, and I have never felt such a sinking feeling when reading something. Truly evil. I can't imagine how horrible that is to hear.
I agree with the bear one. I know theres "recreations" of the tape but the real one was never released. Hell even the recreated one is so dusturbing to listen to

These were called white nights. The final time, armed guards blocked every exit to that church. A person who has some form of it also needs to be aware that it even is lost media, which is extremely unlikely. Then, they've gotta figure out how to get it out or where to send it. Also unlikely. Those are the real barriers. That's why media is getting rediscovered decades after it has vanished. The right person needs to come across it for anything to actually be recovered.
The Jonestown death tape is one of those things that sticks with you. I remember hearing one boy, probably 8+ years old, calling to his mom. Then he tells her to stop and cries for his dad. You hear him yelling dad a few times, getting lower, like he's running away, then you hear him sound somewhat relieved when he says dad again. It was elongated like "Daaaaad." Then a loud "NO!" And nothing else from him. At least not that I heard and I listened for his distinctive voice for the rest of the tape. I just can't help but wonder what was happening to that poor kid. Did he reach his dad? Did the dad betray him? Was he grabbed by someone else? Maybe his mom? I think of him every single time I see video of the kids or photos of the bodies. Most of the kids in the background you hear once or twice, but his voice is heard for a couple of minutes. Just awful. I can't imagine what the scene LOOKED like.
I think there's an audio in UA-cam that's 44 minutes long and I seem to remember hear the children crying then begging no then eventually retching it was pretty disturbing

About Chris Benoit, they found out that he had severe brain damage. They found this out in his autopsy. The nerves in his brain had started to die off from the repeated brain trauma. Chris Benoit's case helped discover CTE. CTE causes people to become irritable and angry, it also causes emotions to become uncontrollable. CTE is comparable to Dementia or Alzheimer's.
Important note: These uncontrollable emotions tend to cause people with CTE to have outbursts, which causes them to do things they wouldn't normally do. Such as murder.
There's also the domestic abuse prior to the murders, but I don't know if anyone has ever asked the question of whether it was just Benoit or also had to do with the CTE. Since he was already married to Woman, I guess his battered up brain may have contributed to it.

I was in HS when Columbine happened, not even in the same state, and before that teachers used to watch kids get picked on, constantly, and would never say anything. After it happened there was an unspoken no tolerance rule. I don't think it was because the teachers cared it was because they feared us. That went on for almost the entire next school year, it was the must surreal thing. When I was there they never implemented a no tolerance policy, although it was really easy to get suspended for bullying. The crazy thing was kids were still a-holes and bullied, like Columbine went in one ear and out the other.
I was just out of high school when Columbine happened. At the time I was dressing goth. I had a neighbor who was a security guard who clearly wished he were an actual cop. Right after Columbine, my dad told me this guy confronted him at the mailboxes saying crazy stuff like "Sir, your daughter is a goth, keep an eye on her, she could be a murderer!". The even crazier episode was a few days later, the guy actually knocked on our door, dressed in his rent-a-cop uniform. I was the one who answered- I don't remember the whole brief encounter but I do recall he asked me "Do you believe in God?". I was so taken aback and offended that I slammed the door in his face. The guy was erratic and always harassing my friends and I just over the way we dressed- he thought we were the threat but he actually tried to get his dog to attack one of my friends once
I grew up during a time when bullies were your peers. I had a lot of bullies but only one was way older. The rest of the bullies I would either ignore or eventually fight back against. Once you fought back they would stop, especially if you won the fight. You developed internal strength and resilience because of the bullies. I raised my boys to defend the defenseless but they all grew up without bullies. All except my first born son. He had a 12th grader pick on him when he was in 9th grade. My son refused to back down. Because of the schools no tolerance policy they agreed to fight in a dirt lot off school grounds. I told my son that if he learned to wrestle he could win a fight without hurting his opponent. Except this kid was too big and strong. My son quickly had his hands full with an older and stronger man vs his boy strength and had to fight back with all his might. In the process he took the bully down hard and pummeled him. I was so proud of my son. Of course the school found out but I believe everyone stayed quiet. I never thought I would appreciate bullies but if you think about it they are like the dragon the marine faces in that commercial. They are a natural part of a boys development and serve to forge them in a fiery crucible. Now that our society is collapsing around us we sure could use strong young men to step up and defend western civilization. But what do I know? Just the ramblings of an old man.
Yup! Your 100% right, actually I had a friend who wrote a book and he was friends/enemies with Eric Harris, who went to Columbine HS with Eric and Dylan, and was the last person to talk to Eric before the shooting happened because Brooks noticed that Eric and Dylan were late for one class that they were never late for.. Brooks noticed Eric and Dylan were suiting up and Eric said to Brooks "I like you now, get out of here" and then the rampage started, Brooks ran to get help. Anyway you should check his book out called No Easy Answers: The Truth Behind Death at Columbine High School by Brooks Brown. He goes into how the problem was being bullied.. People and the NEWS, people who know little to nothing and just love to speculate without knowing even half of the picture easy to accuse, of course what they did was wrong and I am not standing up for that. However I stand up for anti bullying. But how the world and HS went about it after Columbine, was backwards like they were scared of us.
Why are you people still obsessed with Columbine? There have been 482 mass shootings in America THIS YEAR, and it's only October. Last year there was a mass shooting in Dadeville, AL with MORE gunshot victims than Columbine, and almost all the victims in the Dadeville shooting were also teenagers under 18. Yet that mass shooting went completely unnoticed by the whole world (you didn't know about it, did you?) and we're still talking about Columbine 25 years later. I find this obsession with specific shootings while having zero interest in 99% of mass shootings very weird. I find the obsession with specific mass shootings while ignoring 99.99999% of NON-mass shootings (and gun crime in general) very weird. And I know exactly why the media, certain politicians, and people like you care about a mass shooting from 1999 but don't care about the mass shooting that happened TESTERDAY in Redding, CA. The question is, do YOU know why you cherry-pick which guns crimes to care about while ignoring the rest? I was not alive in the 1970s but I've read some personal retellings which call it the Geary Boulevard facility but say it was not easy to access. Liverpool tragedy in a nutshell. The Stadium was in dire need of retro fits and upgrades to make it safer for the public. it was also consuming more money than the local officials thought was needed for it. They downgraded the security at each match, hence Duckingfawk replacing a more seasoned officer. He was told to get as many people into the field that day to make massive amounts of profit from each game. He only ordered gate C to be opened because the fans outside were chanting for refunds and getting pissed off. Once he realized there were way too many people it was too late. Hence the tape being stolen and the entire cover up. Simple case of negligence in pursuit of profit.
The BBC said it was hooligans which was some of the worst reporting they have ever done. It was victim blaming all to cover up that it was the police's fault.

I was born in 84 so I wasn't old enough to understand, until I started researching it a few years back. I was so shocked at the photos of the people crushed up against the fence. It really hit home just how awful it was. What an awful way to go, R.I.P to those people who lost their lives.

The reason why most of Eric's maps are "boring and empty" is because they're multiplayer deathmatch maps. The basement tapes most certainly have copies out there, as a researcher, Bill Ockham, had posted a higher quality version of Rampart Range, leaving in at the end a frame from the tape taken inside of Eric's car you described. Everyone who has them knows each other, so whoever leaks it is in a world of pain legally. The sheriff's office also had made a slip-up at some point after saying all evidence was destroyed, and then stated in a email that "all originals remain in lab under lock and key"
I hate that 96 regular people, including kids, lost their lives at a football match and a bunch of lying ash holes tried to cover it up. To make matters worse, The Thatch came and traipsed around the pitch pretending she gave a crap. I hope people were actually, at the least, publicly shamed. Of course, that guy who hid evidence and lied and created the problem in the first place should be in prison, but he probably retired to the South of France with a nice pension.

It was 97. One of the guys who had life changing injuries and he died of them recently. Quite a few also committed suicide. My uncle was there, he is a tough guy but when that anniversary rolls around he doesn't want to talk about it or anything he saw. He also generally stopped attending matches. He was fortunate enough to have been in another stand, but he was close enough to see everything. And was powerless to do anything, despite only being a few yards away. He saw police refusing to do anything despite supporters begging, ambulance staff walking around like it was nothing - saw it all.
The Moment of Truth was one of my favorite shows at the time. I used to tape all of them. I wonder if I still have a VHS copy stored in my parent's basement!

20:29 uh NO, wrong! The WWE did not try to distance themselves immediately after! Infact that nights show, Monday Night Raw, was turned into a memorial show for Chris Benoit. The episode included multiple scenes Benoit's matches, interviews of WWE wrestlers as they shared memories and kind words of support, and just celebrated his life in general...It was only _after_ the case was ruled a _Double Murder-Su!c!de_ that the WWE distanced themselves, and tried pretty much everything to wipe Chris out of WWE existance. Destroying the Basement Tapes I argue was the worst thing they could've possibly done. Those tapes documented their preparation for the attack in real time and showcased how they did it and why they did it. In order to prevent more shootings like this from happening, studying the tapes could benefit in knowing how easily they acquired the weapons and, god forbid, if the massacre could've been worse. This would allow people to recognize any signs and possibly stop another shooting from happening and save many lives. Destroying the tapes basically does the exact opposite. Leaving millions of unanswered questions that will be left unanswered. Many shootings school shootings have occurred after Columbine and Columbine has been found to be the inspiration for most of those.
Their friend bought their guns for them legally and it is known they intended for the massacre to be a bombing--which is partly why I think the notion that Eric designed a map around the school to "practice" is a dumb myth, as they intended to just blow up the cafeteria with pipe bombs and shoot the survivors coming out i.e. their original plan was never to enter the school in the first place.. As much as the tapes would have told us, I'd argue that we already know more than enough about their plans via their writings, blog posts etc.
i somewhat agree, but i don’t think they should have been made widely available to the public if they weren’t deleted. that way, potential shooters could copy what they did, as they already try to do because they see those assholes as gods. i think it would be helpful for therapists/counselors/social workers/etc. to have access to it to recognize the warning signs.
But we do know it could have been worse. It was a failed bombing that became a shooting as a last resort. They got their guns from their friend who acquired them legally not knowing what they intended to do. I'd argue we know more than enough about their plans more than any copycat who's come since, their journals told us plenty.
@@stormfischerr This I 100% agree with. I should've clarified further that making them publicly available is not a good idea whatsoever but making them more available to professionals to help spot warning signs definitely would've been beneficial. That's entirely on me and I apologize. Making them all public would've been a terrible idea since, like you said, crazy people view these wastes of human beings as God's.

It always amazes me when people are surprised that repeated blows to the head cause brain damage

Just like the humonkeys we are
I was just out of high school when Columbine happened.
If you're unable to recognize patterns and come up with the correct answer, I'll come back and tell you.

That's is just one of the reasons and actually, one of the heavier reasons why it was cancelled is because some pedos were in high government office or some of them are even involved in law enforcement but that's just what I can remember based on one of Chris Hansen's interviews. I am open for corrections.

Nah that show got no arrests, they never followed protocol and I believe only got like four convictions. It was all for ratings. Which is a huge moral issue imo. I mean ratings for pd files? Selling out for pd files basically. It’s all terrible. And Chris Hanson has been proven to be a massive scumbag, he never cared about catching criminals

@@courtneythompson6179 that's not how entrapment works! The role the show played, in no way contributed to anyone's death! Question: is the "Jim Jones Church" being referred to location in Redwood Valley, or the location on Geary Street in SF? AKA the headquarters for People's Temple, Jones' religious movement.
I was not alive in the 1970s but I've read some personal retellings which call it the Geary Boulevard facility but say it was not easy to access. Redwood Valley, however, seems to have had a lot of staff "advertising" bus caravans to that location.
In some tellings, they seem unavoidable to those attending a flea market or street-fair.
A little food for thought. Cackling Kamalas lover and mentor Willy Browne was a staunch Jim Jones supporter.
Jumped into a taxi in Liverpool in 2017. He had a sign on the back of the front seat saying, "if you read the Sun, get out of my taxi," or something like that. Asked him about it and heard all about Hillsborough.

He sued for 1.2 million and won, McDonald’s has buried the legal documents and has sent out cease and desist letters to those who speak about it so it’s largely unknown, just as they did by trying to blame the woman who sued for the hot coffee, making her seem money hungry when in reality they were heating their coffee to nearly 130 degrees with their reasoning being “most customers drink it when they get to their destination, so it has time to cool while still remaining hot”, but the lid was not secured properly and it soaked into her pants causing 3rd degree burns on her legs and inner thighs

Unfortunately for them they can't just "un-air" the Chris Benoit rememberance episode.
Yup I remember I also remember that the very next episode after that memorial one Mr McMahon came on n said they didn’t know the details n this would be the last time he would mention Chris n the case
You say "it was only after" like they had prior knowledge of what happened. They obviously didn't.
@@_Xds_if they had prior knowledge to the case, do you really think they would show remembrance to him on a live broadcast? Use your damn head.
You seriously censored yourself with that? ...

@@stormfischerrI agree completely
Your channel is really good, you cover topics I've never heard of before. What also makes it better is that you recommended No Country for Old Men lol
That Moment of Truth episode was reuploaded some time back but it's currently not on YT. All the questions were along the Mormon lines and all disturbing.
Not Mormon
Polygamy and the controversial age gap between an under age and an old person during that time is understandable.
This makes this part of the Mormons look bad
LDS, actually, not Mormon. That's like blaming Jews for running the banks and entertainment industry when it's actually Zionists.
THE PREDATORS DO NOT DESERVE PROTECTION FROM EXPOSURE! Period!
Large numbers of man utd fans still sing, 'the sun was right, you're murderers' every time we play them. The damage that newspaper caused is still felt to this day
@BobCassidy not even remotely to the same extent.
Even in the game when we gave Ronaldo respect for losing his baby, they still sang it
@lensw0rld633 why isn't it the extent, Liverpool fans don't give man utd the respect the same way man utd fans don't give Liverpool respect
@_.Apollo. it's not the same way though. When was the last time you heard Liverpool fans chant Munich in huge numbers? You hear the Hillsborough chant on tv loud and clear every time we play them. It's disgusting
@@lensw0rld633 I've never heard the chant against Liverpool, seen multiple man utd fans against the chant. I've had multiple Liverpool fans attack me and seem them attack other man utd by mentioning the incident lmao
@_.Apollo. oh you've been attacked by liverpool fans have you? How incredibly convenient 🙄
I saw a documentary on the Jonestown massacre...was horrific. Thanks for your channel.
I think destroying the basement tapes were a grave mistake.
There might be some digitalized copies out there.
or on purpose
I do and don't agree.
I do agree since this would have been a fantastic insight, and would have been great in prevention.
I don't, because other weirdos might look at them and see a blueprint rather than a cautionary tale.
I'm not going to commit to one. We live in one timeline where they were destroyed and we can't change it. For better or worse.
@@RecklessInternetting Maybe the FBI or some other agency similar has the digitalized copies for legal purposes.
The tapes likely contained them revealing info that would go against the narrative they wanted to paint. There's LOADS of inconsistencies innthe columbine case and so many unexplored leads.
That lie detector horror show is a prime example of, just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD.
nah, the truth wouldn't have come out if it wasn't for it
Oh so she shouldn’t have exposed her father along with a community of sick pedophiles? Got it. You SHOULDN’T be allowed to have children with that thinking.
The show is depressing but also does nobody understand lie detectors don't work ? Lmao. They're pseudo scientific devices. They do not detect lies. No such technology exists.
Your attention-drawing voice and diction are very fit for the content you make. I love your channel, friend.
Watching this is a great reminder that preservation of all media isn't always necessary, sometimes it's good things are lost
