wish ot had this intensity now! If I remember rightly we were runners up to Liverpool that season but by a fair distance. They were such a good team, I remember being pleased when Rush went to Italy and Aldridge just slotted into his place perfectly! Great nostalgia!
+zoomerlon United Road that day was on top form. Yeah, it's a shame we trailed Liverpool by miles that season. Was gutted to see Beardsley playing so well for 'em when we'd had him.
A slightly funny story from that game, a pal of ours tied our union jack with Barrow painted on it [stole from a local scout flagpole] but put it facing the united road crowd, so we sent him back down to correct it while quite a few people jovially mocked his stupidity. Happy days.
It was'nt empty were l was stood, maybe a little at the front, gobble shit got hammered with everything even golf balls.he said he'd never play their again! Hooper played the next time defo
First season of the membership scheme in United road and stretford end. Hundreds were turned away at the start of the season cos non members areas were full. Nobody wanted to pay for membership....£5!
Despite the fierce rivalry between the clubs, both Liverpool and United had terrific kits that season.
Best kits we had - ever.
@@MathewSimonGospel Adidas obviously.
Adidas originals are the best

Yeah man, that's was awesome as always grateful.
Use to love going there and exploding in the Scoreboard. Fairclough's goal in 78 was insane.
Neither Utd or Liverpool fan but those Adidas originals are timeless kits
Stretford end half empty. Away end packed out.

Was this Whiteside's last goal at OT? He was my hero when I was a kid.
+Luke Belecco He scored two more at OT. Bury and Chelsea were the opposition. It was his last league goal, however.
scherben Was the Chelsea game a 2-0 FA Cup win? I think I was at that game. McClair I think scoring the other goal.
Lol
Was in the paddock
Utd utd utd
Shut up lol
