- The Bulldog divides opinion on Battlefield 4. Yes, it can be a monster but also it does have some fairly big drawbacks. In this video we take a look at why it could be something worth taking.

Am I the only person that remembers when the Bulldog was OP af when the gun first came out?
I was just about to comment that! I remember Operation Lockers just being bulldog’s only and fuuuuu it’s was surpassed rage inducing.
Ya that was when DICE lowered the damage from most guns by 1 per bullet, effectively making the bulldog go from a 3 hit kill to a 4 hit kill. Still a monster though
No
Is still op
now looks like aekfield 4
Haha! I left a comment on one of your videos a while ago where you showed your Battlelog where I pointed out that you had never used the Bulldog before. Glad you decided to take it for a spin.
It's a cqb monster + the way this gun sounds is sick! you can really feel the power of that 7.62mm
This was my favorite for some reason, it just felt good to use despite the limited ammo count
this is an m14. scream. it costs like $5k irl
Please do a review on the MPX, it cuts like butter up to a 4 man take down.
Yup, the MPX is great and with correct loadout it can even be used at medium range
@@Minto107 What would that load out be? I want to try it
@@rolltideroll8458 All you really need is Angled grip for first shot recoil and muzzle brake if you cant handle recoil increase. Otherwise use heavy barrel for better accuracy and can even add on the stubby grip for even more accuracy
@@rolltideroll8458 I'm using laser, heavy barrel and ergo. It's a really nice combo and it works great in both cq and mid range combat(it's my go to gun to use on hangar 21)
@@Minto107 Thank you
I use it on Locker. Only downside is the 21 round clip but it's great weapon for close quarters
ayyye wassup
21 round mag*
Otherwise, fully agree. It's a very fun weapon
@@julien8629 20 round mag*
The other one is in the chamber
Also the bad base and auto spread....the scarh has such a higher potential
I remember so many people using this gun.. This was the gun that most often killed me!
I would like to know your opinion about the AR160
It gets fully obsoleted by the AN-94 since the AN has better long and close range capabilities
I like it, I generally run it with an ACOG qnd Heavy Barrel. Italian Tactical Tuna just stays right on target.
The scar is king
The scar is king
That one is pretty nice, unlocked it on my brothers and damn shun
3:48 What you said here was incorrect. Bullpups have better minimum ADS moving accuracy than non-bullpup weapons.
Was about to say this too, i always heard that bullpups have lower spread when ADS and moving compared to non bullpup rifles. Im pretty sure this was backed up by the stats at Symtic when that site was up.
It wouldn't really make sense either, given bullpup rifles are supposed to sport better handling characteristics for the same length barrel.
Yeah I was about to say, bullpups have slightly worse standing accuracy and better moving accuracy than non-bullpups. However, at very long ranges, it's still better to stand still and shoot no matter what gun.
When I played all the time my second most used gun was the Bulldog... oh the sweet memories. Can't wait for 2042
That's actually my go to weapon for the Assault class
I like to run the Bulldog with a compensator and a folding or angled grip to reduce the side to side recoil and the first shot recoil
That compensator is giving you more of a disadvantage than an actual advantage tho. Should try stubby and cobra or coyote sight. Get used to the recoil and you're fine.
@@_uoq That's untrue. The angeled grip is the one hurting that loadout, not the compensator. Comp./stuby attachment combo is one of the only relevant ways to use your weapon and stuby/comp. in case of the Bulldog actually gives better DPS on target than stuby/nothing. Side to side recoil is random and greatly hurts range performance and for the Bulldog it's almost a must as it has second highest side to side recoil in class.
Angeled grip isn't very good on the Bulldog as it has very low first shot recoil x.
@@sbow2892 How's that untrue. It literally hurts your automatic fire spread by 30% which is really bad. Using just a grip and sight is the most reliable option in the game.
@@_uoq As I said, the horizontal recoil kills your range performance more than your spread does. 30% penalty to spread increase and max spread vs. 25% less horizontal recoil is a no brainer when we're talking about a weapon with second highest horizontal recoil in class.
Horizontal recoil is completely random and something you can't controll, unlike vertical recoil and spread. You can only control the general drift, but the horizontal recoil can be anything within the horizontal recoil values. Reducing that with the compensator benefits your range performance greatly. Also, the Bulldog has very low first shot recoil multiplier, meaning bursting is very effective --> spread control is easy.
In case of the Bulldog, you end up having a way more accurate gun with comp./stuby than you'd with stuby/nothing. This is generally the case in BF4 with every AR and carbine with RPM over 750 (including heavy hitters and excluding bursts), comp./stuby is just superior attachment combo to anything else. Really underlines how bad the attachment system is in BF4.
@@sbow2892 That's why you tap fire. Problem solved.
The Bulldog was my goto AR in BF4. It wrecks people like there is no tomorrow!
This gun is a monster on HC servers, combines the scars accuracy and a monsterous ttk at close range. On lockers and metro you can prefire headshot angles to ridiculous effect.
Magnum is my most used sidearm in BF4, rocking 30% accuracy 😁
One tap headshots are so satisfying!
Bulldog lover here. This is the gun I always use when I go into ''Okay, I'm mad'' mode. Whenever my games doesn't go well, this gun always puts me back on track. Love it so much!
Not really underrated just underused tbh, it was one of my favorite guns and a really good one. The only draw back was this gun’s smaller mag and long bull pup reload time that made it fall behind without weapons. It’s amazing damage wise and hits hard wit a nice rate of fire but ur limited in how much u can hit them enemies before needing to do a long reload. Really hurts the gun and made it fall under
Bro I’ve been running the bulldog for YEARS and I never understood why none of my friends used it.
Still op, just very ammo hungy. i like it on larger maps with semi, almost a dmr lmao
There’s this dude on US servers that literally has 300k kills with the Bulldog
Pinchy
Hey that's me

@@RobertJohnson-mn4ks :D
Pinch = haxor bullpup noob sauce dooky aim aimbot truck driving SUMBITCH
10:54 I feel his pain 😂
I thought bullpups had better moving accuracy but lower standing accuracy
Try the A-91 Carbine. It's a hidden gem very versatile weapon.
It's spray pattern has such a unique layout that i more often than not get a headshot with it
Loadout 1 : Heavy barrel + Stuby grip
Loadout 2 : Suppressor + Stubby Grip
Nah sg553 is underrated
Both are great small arms that work in slightly different rolls. The Sig 553 is a great well-rounded carbine while the A-91 fits a close quarters roll a bit better.
Seems to me that the SCAR is just a better version of the Bulldog
But the bulldog is so satisfying to use
well for me it was the best weapon in the game for the fire rate
1:00 hurt me because getting 1 hit killed by a semi auto shotgun with modified or even no choke at all 24/7 always makes me rage when i can't even get that one shot from 2 inches away with any semi auto shotty :c
Right ? That was so fast, not even a headshot
@@camilobaffa1123 I don't believe shotguns include a headshot multiplier, it just goes by pellet
@@christianrobloxserver7282 Oh I see, still that was pretty fast
There were a lot of people playing with this gun when it came out, it was a meta for quite a while.
I haven't seen people using the aek that much anymore but I've seen sooo many people using the ace-23
it was one of the biggest skill cannons in the game, the rise was hard to control
I was under the impression bull pups had better moving accuracy not faster strafe speed
Love the gun sound & reload sound of the bulldog
Believe it or not. The "Bulldog" is a conversion kit for the Mk.14 Ebr or M14 rifle. You can actually purchase the kit here in the US and make this weapon. Of course not in full auto unless you have that license and well if you do this probably is a cheap kit for you to purchase 😂
This was my 2nd most used gun in BF4, right after F2000.
This is one of the few guns I havent gotten a mastery tag for, idk why I don't like it I just never got in a good groove with it
Bulldog is one of the best weapons. Since I main medic, it is my go-to rifle. Devastating in CQB, in medium...accuracy could be a little bit better.
Specs: Laser sight, Heavy barrel and PO-TA-TOE grip. Works for me best.
The horizontal recoil begs for a compensator, but then you get that ghost bullet effect where you are dead on target but your shots are deviating. Factor in suppression, the common strafing while shooting tendencies of most players as well as the longish full reload, and it's just not worth running as a consistent primary. Fun gun for sure though. Close quarters its perfectly capable, but surely not optimal.
The AEK is such a sick gun though ngl I love that thing. Sg553 is top tier too
Its alot of fun. Bulldog is the first gun that got me into ARs
in germany every sweater on locker 24/7 use the bulldog
We have a gorgeous bullpup design shotgun in my store and the only downfall to it is the fact that its made of straight up plastic... The bulldog was fun to run with but if I were to go with a bullpup rifle I'd still stick with the Famas. It may be burst fire but it smacks a lot harder.
AN-94 burst fire is my favorite medic gun to use
If you want to talk underrated guns there are a quite of bit
Cqc: famas, hawk 12g, aws, mp7 or sr2, mpx, and sg553. I would include the uts since it doesnt get as much love
Close to mid: Unica 6, and aku 12
Mid: Cz805, Ar160, scar h sv, ace 53 sv, and qbu 88
Long: Sar 21, 338 recon, and sv 98( for the aggressive recon style on conquest maps)
I usually forgo the Bulldog for the scar for the faster reload
Great video and some phenomenal Bulldog gameplay. I actually just redownloaded BF4 a week ago and tried the Bulldog for the first time in 6 years and that gun is a beast!
The A-91 carbine is underrated. For a high rate of fire of 800, this weapon is also good at medium range. I have 24% accuracy with this weapon and that's with controller on PS4!
Cobra / Stubby Grip / Compensator 👌🏼
ADS strafe speed does have an impact on spread values. I'm not 100% about the current build, but the bullpup weapons only have higher minimum ADS speed multiplier (affecting movement spread) than normal weapons, the max values are the same for both weapon types. This was the case at the launch and I don't recall it changed.
Great video AKA-ART, I have 81 hours and 42 mins using thr Bulldog with 5320 kills.
I really like the sound it makes when shooting. What do you think of burst
fire weapons like the M16A4 or the M4. Cheers and take care. Helllo from Australia.
Ah yes, a fellow fpsg lockers ape. Burst fire weapons are very good for HC but outside of that, the scar/bulldog and aek are better.
The bulldog is sick and underrated. It’s my most used gun
Bulldog was my 2nd favorite gun with almost 25k kills, but the MTAR was my all time favorite in BF4. I had over 100k kills with it. I also got every single Master dogtag except for a couple sniper rifles. Hopefully 6 has the same masterpiece feeling to it!!!!!
This gun when comes out ( 6 years ago) with the deagle, was soo OP
Try the PP-2000 in the engineer class. Large mag with almost zero recoil. It shreds people.
As soon as i started using the Bulldog, it became my go-to, i find it so fun to use
That’s like my third best gun by kills. Burst firing it dominates at range. Notice how many headshots he gets...it’s a headshot machine.
Bulldog? It’s my go to assault rifle. Either that or the L85.
Here i am, been using the Bulldog with love as main gun since years ^^
When I had time to play games I played pretty regularly with the guy who had the most kills with the bulldog, pretty sure he's on the way to 300k.
That dude is still playing (and is still a noob) you're talking bout pinchy ain't ya?
@@jee7668 ya. The pincers are an unfair advantage.
Bullpup guns have a worse base spread, but better hip-fire spread.
the scar is just better in every way
During my endevors into bf4s weapons one by one i have to say the this gun is 100% memorable as being solid
At long range with the scar/ace52/bulldog, single fire works quite well
This was basically the best AR in the game, but you pretty much mastered the assault tree.
The thing with this AR was the magazine size was really small so your shots had to be accurate all the time.
Pls Pls help this so AKA-ART can see; it took a lot of research.
Okay, AKA-ART so I thought that you'd like a bit of trivia on the Bulldog: It's known as the Short Rifle Stock Systems Bulldog 762 Gen4, an American Bullpup designed in 2006 by US Marine Sergeant Richard Cabral (Ret.) due to the demand for a short yet reliable 7.62mm rifle. People wanted the gun to be as maneuverable as a regular assault rifle and they wanted it to have the ability to mount attachments. The gun's first prototypes were revealed in 2008, and the gun was developed until 2012, when the final generations (Gen4s) were made. The most common version of the SRSS Bulldog is the Gen4, and it's marketed by SRSS on their website. According to research, the gun has also been used by the Phillippine Special Forces since the first prototype came out (2008).
The rifle a drop-in chassis for any platform of the M14, but several parts of the original long gun need to be removed before the Bulldog can be dropped in. As is the case with modern rifles, the Bulldog is am ambidextrous weapon, and most parts of the Bulldog's chassis are tuned by Former Sgt. Cabral for each situation, such as the trigger. The bullpup is also known for its agility in terms of configurations, thanks to its rail systems, meaning one can attach optics, lasers, etc.
The gun has a few variants: there is the original, chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, .308 Winchester and .300 Winchester Short Magnum for shooting competition variants. The rifle itself is fed from a 20-round M14 magazine with a gas-operating, rotating bolt capable of 750 rounds per minute. The Scout version of the weapon is 78 cm (30.8 in.), with a barrel length of around 57 cm (18.5 in.).
There's even a sniper version of the gun built on a modded M21 chassis, with a 65 cm (22 in.) stainless steel barrel that is-get this-cryogenically treated, and has a trigger rod system + trigger weight tuned by the inventor himself.
All in all, a very versatile rifle, which probably explains its versatility in BF4.
Bulldogs was the name of my platoon in the US Army. So, I gotta get this weapon.
Bulldog is basically the same as the SCARH except DLC
The bulldog works best on locker from what I’ve used. You just have to adapt and remember you have 21 rounds and not 31 like the Ace 23.
Man I love all the weapon options for BF4, I really hope BF6 doesn't drip feed weapons for years. I want all the badass options from the get go. I love the username by the way, can't wait for BF6!!
Never stopped playing battlefield 4 since the day it came out. I can't wait till bf6. I miss unlocking new things.
Always glad to see Andy in the video :)
Why does nobody ever use this gun in Battlefield 4?
Me: *stares at my own recent BF4 video where I constantly get wrecked by server filled with Bulldog users*
Jk lol great video as always! Also I noticed that Bullpup design guns and the bulldog rifle is quite used a lot on hardcore rounds, especially on rush.
Scar-h is just better version of bulldog. Bulldog has higher rate of fire with slower reload time, compared to scar it feels like you are constantly have to reload. In closer ranges bulldog wins, but who cares if you will get rekt by an aek.
Bulldog wins in close quarters due to higher RPM and improved hipfire. And aiming for the head, i often kill AEKs in gunfights, if not leaving them with very little health
I remembered everyone using the Bulldog. I love it!
Bullpup designed weapons actually have the inverse of the stats you mentioned you are more accurate moving compared to a non-bullpup rifle and I'm pretty sure the speeds are the same when moving.
The bulldog has always been amazing, I used to use it when I played on Xbox.
I don’t use it too much because the mag size is small and it doesn’t feel as cool as the BAR
What??? BULLFOG is one the best weapons for Assault, I use it all the time. Difficulties, ammo amount and reload rate but the damage, accuracy and sound
One of the best weapons i have played with ,I always play with it but it has one problem which is the mag is smal it has only 21 round
But generally its amazing weapon
cant wait until bf6, it would me amazing to see the more modern vehicles and planes the us and uk military have in a video game
watcha talking about? used to main the bulldog for 2 years :)
L85A2 and AN94 are my way to go! Special shoutout to F2000 as well
Was litterally thinking this the other day when testing out other guns. It's a monster.
Try out the FAMAS, it has the highest TTK.
Also, there's the SG553. I enjoyed that weapon so much, when I was going for the mastery, I got 780 kills instead of 500 kills.
And then there's the PDW-R which is somehow my highest accuracy automatic weapon.
The bulldog is my favourite gun in BF4. Objectively the scar-h is better but the bulldog felt more unique. I live for those 2 tap headshots. such a fast ttk when you hit your shots.
When the bulldog came out it was super OP. Then they nerfed it. Was fun none the less
When doing assault rifles in my all guns dog tag run. This gun was really fun to use. Just play it like a scar h and you're good
AEK and G18? Every medic I run into is running the M416 it seems
Its pretty OP Ive been using it almost a 2 years and its the best weapon for medic ( Good range , Good Damage , Recoil pretty good too but I hate the short mag )
Short mag? You ever used the FAMAS...? 😆
Is good but I prefer the m416 to hip fire. An94 for fast tapping fire on burst shot and the Famas with flashlight but the one that activate with trigger. But for close quarters tar21 or MP7. Just depends the map.
One of my faves for hardcore
The bulldog is my close quarters go to every single time
I am usually trying to get an allrounder into the round, the Bulldog has a horrible reloading time and a very small mag for killing effectively 2 or 3 or more enemies. My love still sits for the L85A2 assault rifle.
Oh boy I remember a time before the BIG NERF... Pretty much everyone was using it back then.
I really enjoy every single video of yours! Are you planning on or already streaming on twitch? Would love to watch
1k hrs kd 2.1 infantry on bf4, bulldog is my third choice, good damage and high efficency in middle range infantry maps.
my choice on top 5 assult rifles will be acw-r scar-h bulldog groza m416
I only used this weapon when I played on PS4, this and the AR160.
also wondering for a bit. its by far my favourite weapon for close quaters combat. its a scar h on steroids.
Unpopular opinion: I was not huge on the AEK
Think of me when you see a medic with a fully, unlocked scar running arround.
The one thing I saw you using that nobody uses ever are the defibrillator pads
i love this gun, the Scar-H and the Ace 52.
7.62mm lyf
If it didn't have 21 bullets, for the way I play, I'd love it.
I would recommend using the M240B, it has the highest DPS in the LMG category.
