Dude I have hundreds if not thousands of kills with the sr338 lol. It's just so cool I have to use it. And for multiple or moving targets it's my favourite. You can really scare people with that gun. But it's kinda a campers gun for long as range. Like the srr and m98 b aswell but they are more redeemable as they take some skill to use. Other than that yes the m40 is probably the best overall sniper.

@[DELETED] you're correct that it's basically a dmr, but the advantage it has over the dmr class is the scopes and the one shot kill potential to the head
Edit: also I believe it has a one shit kill within at least about 15m or so. At least on hard-core it does. Also, it consistently shoots tracer rounds for better targeting rather than every 2 or 3 with the dmr
SR338 is a DMR with higher damage compared to other DMRs, and has access to long range scopes, but that comes with a price of having only 10 boollets, and is recon exclusive. I find it fun to use most of the time. Wish it had a 20 round mag tho lol

I love to snipe in HC because it evens the playing field for all snipers (AKA: makes them all OP one shots)
I'm a JNG-90 guy personally. Highest bullet speed makes it good for sniping moving targets and even helicopter pilots. Good mag capacity, all around good gun (except reload speed, that's a little slow).
Yeah so good at range, definitely dominates there. Guess the reload is ok then bc you are a bit further back
never understood why jng-90 has the most velocity while there is snipers with longer barrels and bigger calibers also why the fuck its starts with the russian scope as a nato rifle lol
CS5 and M40 are S tier for aggressive, but they are E tier for long range. The tier depends on the distance and the maps. The difference of FY-JS/SCOUT for the others is that the damage continues to drop over like 150m, so HS over this distance wont kill, but if you are playing Rush/TDM the FY-JS is S tier, and if you are playing Metro/Locker the SCOUT is S tier because they does the same damage as the others in shot/medium distances and and it has its advantages. All the snipers have the same chance to hitkill within 12,5m, even the SCOUT and FY-JS. I have so many videos playing with most of the snipers, sometimes the feeling of playing with one of them is the key to play better.
M405 are the best during i play 2014 to 2019 which the best #1 recon division in bf4 is [SEAL] Hexxxator and now he is not active but its youtube montage are amazing.

Sr338 = HIGHLY UNDERATED change my mind
The SR338 is actually the definitive best extreme range sniper in my opinion. Bipod down, fire a shot next to your target to get the exact bullet drop then rapid fire 3 shots. Guaranteed kill even if you don't get a headshot.
Thank you, finally someone who gets how to snipe long range. The double or triple tap capability of the sr338 in case of just body shots makes it SO much above and beyond ANY sniper or drm for mid to long range engagements it's not even funny. It slices, dices and decimates entire squads.
i feel like the sv98 is overlooked inside of 100 meters. it’s got the best hipfire out of all the sniper rifles, and it’s probably got the clearest iron sights, which is def a subjective thing, but it’s surprisingly viable on operation locker paired with a straight pull, a laser sight, and a reliable secondary for follow-up shots

@@nunufyabisnesmf96 well obviously i wouldn’t hipfire it if i can avoid it, but it is a major help if you get surprised around a corner. i’m also not gonna argue that it’s better than the m40, since the m40 is prob the best all around sniper in the game. i’m just saying the SV98 deserves more cred

Yo little late here but must say I fell in love with sv98 just because how it looks and the iron sights. My most played and scored class is engineer but I have most kills done with sv98 only using iron sights lol that feeling u get when getting those long range head shots without even seeing the enemy is so satisfying!

I generally use 3 sniper rifles. CS5 for aggressive "sniping" i highly prefer it inside 100m over m40 because of it's rpm and better hipfire. L115 as intermediate jack of all trades and SRR61 for long range. I used to love 338 recon, before all nerfs it was really good but now I only play with it with the sound, it's stats are B at best, maybe c+

Scout Elite is a bit underrated. Obviously it was designed for middle/close range (as a CS5). It wasnt mentioned, but (I belive) SE is the most accurate among other rifles when going hip fire, especially w/ laser. Its not 100% dependable, but quite useful in some cases. The only con is firerate, well, here shines a CS5
He also says it does not one shot at any range. Which is just wildly untrue. It one shots to the chest in CQB like every sniper that isn't the SR338, and it one shots to the head to I think 100m. He probably shouldn't be doing tier lists if you don't know how the weapon works.
M98B if I play on a massive map (rare). For everything else, M40A5. There's just something really "light" and agile about using that. Fun to be aggressive with it.
I've used the m40 and srr so much that I can't physically make myself use any other gun as my muscle memory with the m40 and srr is so strong that it feels so weird to use anything else.

I used the sr338 to unlock the gol magnum, it was fun to bipod in the firestorm tower and get 6 kills in less than 2 minutes. Its a solid gun, but ill take my cs5 instead.

I love the sr338 for hardcore, you can get a 2 shot body kill at any range
M98b, jng90, ssr61, l115. All have good bullet speed and dmg model.
That l115 do be the master at them FLICKY BOYS tho may have slower rate of fire to m40 but man does it just connect on first shot anyway.
I know this was made years ago but i have to address the elephant in the room... the SR338 is the best sniper rifle for hardcore mode! you dont need to add a x40 scope or range finder! first shot to mark distance, then 2 more shots with compensation for distance and speed to kill! you in total use just 3 bullets and the high dps makes the 2 bullets needed to kill someone (1 bullet if you headshot) feel like 1 bullet. you want to kill someone across the map? you dont need the range finder! equip the X8 scope and a X14 lent then get a bipod and snipe! first bullet needs to go to the side of the enemy to calculate. once the bullet lands all you need to do is actually aim at the enemy and compensate for bullet drop! then rinse and repeat for max killing (or at least while your ammo last :P)
SR338 is S tier for long range in hardcore since it's one shot kill to the head but has the edge because it's semiauto

Ive used the m40 so much that when I try to use the srr or 338 I always aim too high because of muscle memory
Actually the SR338 is pretty sick on mid range, in locker for example you should put an acog on it and you can get insane kills with it, I'm not lying!
the sr338 is top tier if you're playing hardcore, since it is a semi auto that can one shot to the body
I use SRR-61,M98B,GOL Magnum and JNG-90 with suppressors,bipods and variable zooms for cheesing and trolling other people
M405 one of the recon division legend 2014 - 2019 like Hexxxator plays that.
All bolt-actions bullet speed below 620m/s = F-tier + FY-JS and Scout Elite, except M40A5 or SV98 could be E-tier?
S-tier: JNG-90, CS-LR4 and M98B
A-Tier: L115i and SRR-61

U need to reconsider the sr338. It has a 50 damage max so u can 2 shot in close quarters or even one shot to the head at close range. It's also perfectly accurate which the other dmrs aren't plus u can scope the thing up and use it at 1000m works great for a real dmr. Everyone hates it cuz they look at some stats and go it's rate of fire sucks and can't one shot to head at long range trash...... But it's actually one of a kind and has some cool traits one of my favorite. Basically a badass dmr
Oh and in hardcore it's basically an actual semi auto sniper just aim for head.
If it on console I can actually help u get the sr338 it doesn't deserve this much hate. It's a bad sniper yes but the best dmr

The only advantage of SR is the fire more and option to mount a decent scope, which you can’t do on other DMR’s. So yeah, it’s a top DMR, still 3 shots to kill. I found it fun to play, especially on close quarters

Like the video though I have a different opinion on the snipers.
1.I will start by correctly stating that the fjys and scout can get a 1 shot kill to the head but it max range like 102m if you like to play as a sniper is close quarters the scouts has rate of fire like the m40 ties the cs5 in hip fire and that close distance velocity don't matter anything beyond 100m they are bad.
2. 338 semi auto is straight you trash can only 1 shot head shot in like knife range but it can be setup to counter snipe snipers. It the only semi auto sniper so it don't get straight pull bolt so the only underbarrel attachment is the bipod and due to the recoil you need the bipod for rapid fire with this garbage. Basically it slower firing heavier hitting DMR that can use any sniper scope it still trash but I did get banned from a sever for dropping 50 kills with this weapon.
3. M40, L115, GOL, 338 bolt action all gotten nerfs due to every sniper being universally the same and dice nerfed the most used ones. L96 or L115 went from a 10 round to a 5 round magazine. M40 got the same treatment but the M40 has terrible bullet velocity. GOL bullet velocity was tone down to take it down from being one of the best snipers to a average sniper, 338 I love the sound but they made it handle like a bullpup so they made it handle like the m98b but it slower and worse than the sv98 and L115 but it does have the best hip fire out of all snipers.
4. CS5 is a special case since it has the 2nd best hip fire 2nd best rate of fire and the worse bullet velocity without a suppressor but has the best velocity when compare to every sniper if you have a suppressor equip. In a way it a upgraded M40.
I haven't played bf4 for while now but I do have over 60 service stars in recon and I do have the mastery dogtag for every sniper including the .50 cals.
The srr61 is goated for me.

I’m the one guy in the world who runs bipod on my sniper😂 idk why, but I just love loading up a game of rush (since on large conquest there’s a lot more enemy snipers) lay down with my bipod heeps away with line of sight to one of the objectives, just lay back in my chair playing only with my right hand/mouse while eating a snack with the other🙈

CS-LR4, B tier: as far as starting sniper rifles in battlefield, it’s solid, you could use this exclusively and do pretty well. It doesn’t exceed in any category but it gets the job done in all of them.
M40A5, A tier: it’s good for all ranges and has a pretty damn good fire rate. No reason you couldn’t use it in really any situation but in close range it’s great.
SV-98, C tier: it’s a sniper rifle and that’s it really. It has no great qualities but no bad ones really either.
SRR-61, B tier: straight shooter, before the nerf it was by far the best Sniper rifle in the game. Now it’s still good but is a shell of its former self.
JNG-90, B tier: Great for ranged shooting but is honestly just a SRR with more bullet drop and less bullet velocity.
M98B, S tier: the pinnacle of sniper rifles, big rifle, big round, lots of stopping power, only draw back is that it takes up a good amount of screen real estate.
L115, B tier: basically the same as the sv98 or the JNG really. Not bad at all.
CS5, A tier: if you can get a good flank behind enemy lines, with that suppressor it has. You can change the tides of the entire game.
GOL, D tier: it’s just mid in all categories, there’s no reason to use it for anything really.
338 recon, D tier: bulky and is way too beg for a bull pup on screen doesn’t give a reason to use it
FYJS, E tier: piece of shit rifle, any sniper that doesn’t 1 tap to the head at any range shouldn’t even be considered a Sniper rifle. Only redeeming factor is it has no bullet drop but that doesn’t mean anything when it can’t kill your targets.
Scout, D tier: it’s the same as the cs5 how it’s great for close range but it also doesn’t 1 tap to the head at any range which makes it useless in some senses.
SR338, E tier: I enjoy using this gun but I know that it sucks. Many DMR’s perform better than this thing.
Stat wise the sv98 is a m40 with 10 rounds, same bullet speed, same drop, not that much different in bolt speed
338 recon should be A tier just based on how easy to use and how aggressive you can be with it

Exactly. Which I what I used to tell so many morons about BF4. The "Variety" of guns in BF4 is FALSE variety, as every wep class is chock full of guns that have literally almost no difference statistically between them, sometimes even being identical stat wise.

Dps doesn't matter on the sr338. You should be headshotting prey with pinpoint accuracy after you do a preliminary shot to gauge exact bulletdrop. There are servers with naval warfare in their rotation, but your accent suggests oceania area so you might have a higher ping than you like.

I think for long range snipers like myself, it can only be a choice between the M98B and the SRR61, and that choice is just down to whether you prefer bullet velocity or less gravitational effect on the round.
Also, this is the dumbest complaint I've ever made on a video, but it just really irks me when people call sniper rifles "snipers"

Cs5 is s tier to me, definitely much higher than the scout and 338 recon, and the m40 doesn't belong in its place even with a higher damage drop-off range because of the ammo capacity
It's sad to see Bf4 had 13 sniper rifles while Bf2042 has only 4 (and one comes from bfbc2)
Well, I think the L115 is a rated S weapon, like the M98B, the GOL Magnum and the 338 Recon
But
I think that the SR338 is underrated, if you use it as well, you can make some good shots.
It's a DMR ? Nope, but like them you need to make 3 shots for a frag, yeeaaah, but if you shoot the head, it's just take one shot. I've already make a headshot at 769m with that rifle (hardcore mode, with a DMR it's impossible in fact). It's not a special long range sniper but in fact, it's really difficult to make a oneshot after 500m with a rifle like the M40A5 (for me, not for everybody), same shit for the L115 (difficult but true, my favorite sniper isn't the best).
So, now the SR338 is one of the most aggressive sniper in the game, he isn't a bolt action, but he can beat some of them, like the CS, the FY, the SV98, the Scout and the CS5 I guess. It's not a rated S rifle but already a rated B. Try it, you can rush with it or you can play the distance, make your choice.
Personally, the sr338 feels more like a m98b but semi and slightly less damage (even though the stats are the same) otherwise, id put at b or a tier in my opinion

Yup I have 5500 kills on ps4 with it and probably 500 on pc. Definitely one of my favorites.
I've always heard srr338 is crap, but after a while of playing with it I must say it is one of my favourite weapons. For me it's best with 4x scope and it's like slow firing but the most accurate DMR.
I wish I could unlock it :(( I don't even know if I would enjoy it

2:55 WRONG! For some reason the U-100 MK5 has the highest bullet velocity in the game, beating the CS-LR and JNG-90 by 30 M/S. I don’t know how, I don’t know why, it just does.

Big FY-JS fan here, tbh if you play the objective you will most of the time be within the one shot headshot kill range. So imo if you play aggressively with the FY-JS it should be atleast B tier.
Both Scout Elite and FY-JS CAN oneshot people (with bodyshot) at close range (out to about 12 meters, as with all bolt action sniper rifles). They CAN also both kill people with one headshot out to a pretty decent range (about 100m for the Scout Elite, something like 150m for the FY-JS).
I think what you mean to say, is that these rifles have a range beyond which they CANNOT kill people with one headshot (because they have a 36.6 minimum damage, unlike all other decent sniper rifles that have 59). All other bolt-action sniper rifles in the game can kill people with one headshot at ANY range.
The example you show at 1:52 is (pretty obviously?) a body hit at beyond 12 meters, and wouldn't be a oneshot with any sniper rifle in the game. You probably thought it would be a headshot, but didn't account for the extreme bullet drop of the scout elite.
But yeah, the scout elite sucks bad.

But they are cooler lol. The cslr4 is some China gun. You don't feel as cool using the cslr4 that's the thing.
