Back in the day our band used to have a separate rehearsal from our choir. It drove me up the wall, but they felt like waiting for us to work out our parts was a waste of their time, so we had to hammer out intros, bridges and modulations on Sunday mornings...there wasn’t always enough time.

One time I was directing the choir during praise service and I literally looked and said “What song is this?!” We had not practiced it that way with the band. Finally, we got to some familiar chords and I knew what song we were doing! Lol! And it was a looong intro too! 😆

Lol this had me dying 😂😂 the most complex and busy intro with false beginnings that sound so fire with a whole lot of movements and drum activity for a simple slow 4 chord worship song, sounds accurate lol

Ok so let me get this straight, African American churches are exactly the same as Puertorrican churches, but in English? You had me rolling the whole time. I started playing bass at 13 (terrible musician to be honest 😂) and a amazing church let me in and became my family. This video brought back so many great memories. I’m a be honest Ik we musicians have to follow and obey the lead singers especially if they want to be twirling around the church speaking in touches but I honestly love those moments when the guitarist who does the fingerpicking, the pianist, and the drummer kill an intro it makes me have goosebumps.
Lol! So accurate! Once I had to snap on the congregation like it was their fault. I said how dare we sit here like God hadn't done anything for us. We shouldn't have to be pumped and primed to give God praise! My musicians were done with their solo and I finally figured out what the song was supposed to be..smh!
