Just posted this on her Instagram as well. This is totally unfair, Lauren! It’s only been 5 days since we suffered a nearly lethal concussive blow from your mighty “Frying Pan” and here you go again - faster than the speed of yikes! - assaulting our senses in a stupidly crazy GREAT way with this riotously stellar performance! As hard as it is to believe, this is yet another one that’s better than the original! And this time, there’s no mistaking it - you’re at your very best - at anyone’s very best for that matter - when you submit to the untamed, charging exhilaration that Steinman’s music so powerfully evokes. That’s when you really blast your way into the soul of the song, strike up a torch, and reignite what was burning so brightly before - passion, desperation, rage, recklessness, wonder, beauty, and awe! I’ve never thought to actually thank someone for doing something that she so manifestly loves to do, but sincerely - thank you for this, Lauren! After listening again, I’m not sure whether to applaud or to shield my eyes from the blinding light - I suppose I’ll just leave it at both! :)
I posted “FASTER Than the Speed of Night” and then I take two weeks to respond to this comment. Don’t know what happened there!! 🤦♀️😂 This is an amazing compliment, Bryan! And thank YOU - I sincerely appreciate that you listen to the songs I’ve posted and that you put so much time into your commentary! So - thank YOU!! 🤗✌️☺️
Wow - thank YOU for this! I think Meat Loaf’s stage presence still lingers on any stage he’s ever stepped foot on! 😂😂 But I appreciate this comment so much!! I’m thrilled that you enjoyed this!! ☺️🖤
Hey Lauren. Other’s have already said it…amazing performance!! It’s like this song (and others) were written specifically with you in mind (even if they had to wait a few years for you to find them!). Thank you!
Another incredible performance, Lauren. I thought this one might be quite difficult (not that any are easy) with the overlapping title line but you handled it perfectly. Love the vocals and that smile at the end must have been because you knew you'd just nailed it - brilliant! Don't know too much about this Steinman song, I guess it was written specifically for Bonnie but I can't recall Steinman ever discussing it in an interview. It's another masterpiece though!
Thank you, Matt! ☺️ If I ever stumble across an interview where he mentions this song I’ll send it to ya! I feel like I’ve read or watched something somewhere! I am absolutely thrilled you enjoyed this! I love this song!!!
Superlative! I don't think I've ever used that word before in my life, but it applies here. So there. Beautiful pic at 0:01 by the way (on the seventh beat, when your smile shows your teeth but immediately before you show your fingers). That should be your album cover.
Ha!! It’s amazing you even noticed that. I watched the first 4/5 seconds a few times to catch it. Incredible. You must have excellent attention to detail between that and the 17th beat, etc!! But what a cool idea for a pic… wonder if I can finagle that somehow! :) Thank you, Ricky!
@@LaurenBradleyGivingOffSparks, it was just luck - I was interrupted while watching the video so paused it, then clicked the timeline right near the start to begin again, and that was the image at that point.
Omg this is the best thing I’ve ever read! I actually just sent this to my sister. What a huge compliment! I don’t even know where to begin! :) Thank you!!
@@LaurenBradleyGivingOffSparks well, thank YOU. I was wondering, what is it that makes you so good compared to other people who try covers of Steinman's work. For example, the Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical team are undoubtedly talented people, who must have been musically trained and score well on 'technical merit', but there's something extra you have which they lack. I'm sure Bryan Marcus would put it better, but I think it's that you don't just sing the songs, you live them, in the sense that you put your whole self into the song. Others seem to have (relatively speaking) a sort of hesitation, not fully engaging with the song as though they're keeping something in reserve and not quite living in the moment, perhaps because they're thinking ahead to what comes next. Whereas you seem to give yourself fully to every part. It seems as though you don't think ahead to what comes next, because you've immersed yourself in the song so much that every chord has been burned into your subconscious and you simply know from moment to moment what has to come, without even thinking about it. So you just give yourself fully and ride the current of the music. And I absolutely love it. I think Faster Than The Speed of Night is your best yet. Of course, I reserve the right to change my mind, especially if (when?) Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young comes along...
@@rickytutin Wow - thank you so much for this tremendous comment, Ricky!! This really means a lot to me and I wholeheartedly appreciate it!!! Thank you!!! ☺️☺️
Another fantastic rendition by Lauren!!!!!....But I don't know much about instrumentals, but where is Rory at the end? Whoever made the instrumental PAY RORY DODD!!!!- it just isn't the same without his voice screaming out at the end of the song!!!
Thank you so much, Cliff!!! Not sure who did this track - Smule is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you’re gonna get with the songs that are on there. Some backing tracks are incredible and some others not so much! :)

Another fantastic song. Thank you for breathing life into another favourite.
You are beginning to knock Meatloaf off his pedestal…

On reading this post, I asked myself, "Is Lauren as good as Meat Loaf?" The fact I even found myself asking the question speaks volumes, I think.
@@rickytutin A very telling question indeed! There is only one Meatloaf but man alive Lauren sure does give him a run for his money!
