This song is from 1990. The Warsaw Pact collapsed, the "cold war" was over, in Germany (the Scorpions come from Germany) the "wall" had fallen and the country was reunited. It was a time when there was great hope that the earth would now become a more peaceful place. Unfortunately, our dreams were in vain.
