  • From WoodenBoat's "Legends" Series.
Designed by Walter Ansel, the East Passage 24 is an elegant consolidation of tradition and experience. The boat represents more than three years of dreaming, planning, and building by Carter Richardson and his Rhode Island-based shop, East Passage Boatwrights. This 24’ diesel-powered, center-console boat ties together long-admired characteristics of classic yacht tenders and New England’s hardworking commercial hulls. Her graceful lines and smooth topsides evenly contrast with the stout construction and trustworthy performance of her workboat heritage.

Hello woodenboat! -i have a question, my dad who recently passed away loved your magazine and have been a reader and subscriber for many years, he left behind what i guess is your entire catalog placed in annual folders from the late 70s until his passing in march this year. If you guys are missing an old issue or anything just let me know and I'll send it to you, I don't have the heart to throw it all away since my dad loved your magazine so much.

Nice details but the p&s running lamps are blocked by the dodger and likely the upswing bow. Using a bicolor bow light would solve this. :-)

Yes, and another option is Osage Orange wood. Similar density and grain, and one the most rot resistant in North America.

If Wooden Boat actually had more boats like this I might subscribe, But the typical article is either some weird plywood thing (but oh so "sustainable") or gourmet sailboats for millionaires. In fact I surveyed all their magazine covers since the beginning and it was at best 20% powerboats. In fact mahogany runabouts are virtually absent from Wooden Boat Magazine.

This "Stolen Valor" thing is a hoax. He did serve in the capacity of Command Sergeant Major without holding the rank. That's not at all uncommon especially in short staffed units and most frequently in Reserve and National Guard units. I served in a unit where a Captain filled a Major's Commanding Officer's slot. He was in fact the CO, we saluted and called him Boss. Lieutenants fill Captain slots all the time. So a Master Sergeant filling a Command Sergeant Major position in a Guard unit is far from extraordinary. None of this "Stolen Valor" BS at all.
So go find a real issue... if you reds are capable of reasoned thought.
