I did the Shaymin event through action replay, and the Arceus event. I glitched with action replay to get Darkrai and I LOVED these events.

It's also interesting to point out how the pokemon ranger events were the only legal ways to get a Heatran with eruption or a Riolu with aura sphere.
The Azure flute part isn’t true, there was a Toys R’ Us event where you could go there and they would give you the azure flute via mystery gift. I remember doing it as a kid and I still have both of my legit Arceus in Diamond and Platinum.

I remember this event, but I'm afraid you were wrong. You don't get the azure flute for the event. That was scrapped. You instead just straight up get Arceus. The reason you mightve thought you got the flute, was because this Arceus unlocks almost a mini side quest in platinum, and in HG/SS when traded to those games.

Actually, as I recall, Underground NPCs do work for Spiritomb. Back then, I didn’t have internet service, but I still got Spiritombs.
you can actually get all the event Pokémon in the ds games again by changing to the specific ip address in the Nintendo ds WIFI settings
For the gen 4 games tho, you have to tether the internet from like an android device

There has to be some Mandela Effect universe where it's Gold, Silver Platinum and then Diamond, Pearl, Crystal. Maybe it's also the universe where Flygon is the name of the 3rd evolution of Bagon and Salamence is the name of the evolution of Trapinch.

You also forgot to mention that Jasmine, Fantina and Johanna (players mother in the game) appear in the Master Rank Contests in Hearthome City.
If you transfer Regirock, Regice and Registeel from Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald then catch Regigigas in Snowpoint Temple in a Cherish Ball you can actually trick the game into opening the Regi caves.

Well, you'd have to hack the game to obtain a cherish ball, so might as well use the code to get the event regigigas. Your solution sounds a lot more fun though.

The only event I ever actually remember getting was the Shaymin one and my older brother deleted MY OWN file on MY platinum cartridge just a few weeks after getting the event. Never been so angry over Pokemon before.
Loved this! A great addition to this series. I actually didn't know about that Distortion World beta, very cool! I've also always thought Gold/Silver/Platinum and Diamond/Pearl/Crystal make a bit more sense thematically 😂

I remember playing Pearl and Platinum as a kid, and the other alternative to going to the Island for Darkari if you missed the mystery gift event pass, will require a little cheating. You would need an action replay and activate walk thru walls code. Afterwards, take the yacht to the Island where Cresselia is at, and start walking on the water East from Cresselias Island, instead of (using surf). Just keep walking straight and you will start to see the black void, where you normally cant get past, but since you using the action replay and walk thru walls now you can. So just keep walking thru the black void of nothingness for a good 4 mins, you will only see the trainer walking thru black void, and it seems like it wont end, but dont worry you will start to see water again, and then Newmoon Island where Darkari is. You can now enter and catch. Save before hand just in case or if you want to shiny hunt it. Newmoon island is still programmed in the game, it is just not accessible unless you got the event pass back in 08 or get an action replay. The same thing can be done to get Shamin
I know this is late but you can also just use the action replay to get the event pass if you want to experience the in game event like just like it was years ago. This also works for all other event Pokémon in platinum

Now it makes sense how my brother got darkrai and manaphy
When transferring Darkrai from Shadows of Almia, you're using the local wireless connection and not the WiFi. Meaning much like the old event distribution cartridges, it is 100% possible to get that Darkrai today if you fulfill the requirements in Shadows of Almia. The same could be said with the original Pokémon Ranger and the Manaphy Egg from that.
But the event itself was only distributed for a limited amount of time.
This is good to know cause I still have Shadows of Almia
I’m pretty sure through the source code leak people were able to find out that the diamond dust event actually increased pokemon encounter rates
I was able to access the regis by transferring over my old regis, catching regigigas, then using him to unlock the regi trio caves in game

surprised the fact you can still get mystery gifts in gen 4 games is not mentioned at all (requires specific DNS settings that you can look up)
I played this as kid probably around 10-14 and genuinely loved it I’m 24 and going to buy a ds pokemon platinum and a naughty action replay lol just to throw it back to the nostalgic days, I never had wifi on my ds so hardly new about any of this stuff
You can just change WiFi settings and get all the items to do the events

It is possible to get darkrai from shadows of almia because even if there was shutdown on wifi on gen 4 games. You can still play on wifi if u use your phone as wifi hotspot
In Germany was actually a giveaway where you could've got an Arceus lvl 100 & every special attack from Palkia, dialga & girantina & ofc his own.. Pretty sick :)

@@pulmino4488 It doesnt work really in Germany here.. You can easily get the Gen 5 Events but not the Gen 4.. I tried so hard with many DS and Game Setups.. Old Routers and Hotspots. I don't know any german that got them working

I remember getting an action replay code to hack my arceus even to make a perfect arceus; That was shiny, Level 100 with his special move judgment. Dialga and palkias special moves and I believe draco meteor. And even tho it came from a bad egg it’ said that the OT was lance from the elite 4

You CAN still get the Darkrai from Pokémon Rangers IIRC. You just need a way of modifying your cart to have a game save you can download from online that has the mission on it. Then you can still transfer even though the servers are down as it's just done over wireless. At least last I checked. You can also do this on emulation I believe.
Edit: this works for all Pokémon received via any of the Pokémon ranger games. Some other errors are that you do not need the Elite 4 Surf glitch to enter the void. The void can be accessed by a method known as "tweaking which requires a bike. You also can transfer up the Regi Trio from Gen 3 to get access to Regigigas IIRC. There is just a lot of info that is within this video that is incorrect or misleading which is unfortunate as the video overall is a really good little one stop shop for some lesser known facts of the games.

Only little people know this but you can migrate the Regis into Platinum from R/S/E and the Sinnoh Ruins will be unlocked

You could get Arceus from Pokemon Movie 9 distribution events back in the day, many of which are still in circulation.
You can't go into the void in pokemon platum you get stuck but you can get darkri in dimond and pearl
Actually it was possible to get the flute to get to Arceus. In Germany there where giveaways in GameStops.

I was lucky to receive a Manaphy straight when I bought Pokémon Pearl as was still left in the game with other Pokémon data in the preowned game and the Manaphy until I mistakenly deleted it with some other special Pokémon within my first data of Pokémon Bank
With that gameboy feature I kinda wished sega did something with it such as giving us sonic 3 as a ds game and sonic & knuckles as a gba game where if you have both inserted you played sonic 3&k as an option along with a ds version of both games connected.

I'm genuinely curious about the player who got the black trainer card at 250 hours.. that has to be the result of a few playthroughs in order to achieve that in less than 300 hrs..
Also a big regret I now have is not thinking to use my Action Replay in the Distortion World in my throwaway playthroughs. I'd done the Darkrai, Cresselia, Shaymin and Arceus encounters thru that and utilized plenty of glitches using the poketch but just didn't think to try and boundary break in the distortion world to see if I could find anything interesting there. Knowing there's multiple unused areas in the ROM makes me wish I had dived deeper than just using the action replay to catch legendaries.
I also knew I could change my PC box backgrounds (that's part of how I organized my PC box based on Type) but some of the BGs you showed I've never seen! Wonder how those are unlocked.

Hey guys instead of using game breaking glitches I think it's a better idea to just activate the events if you have a R4 card using pkhex or another similar program so that you can actually catch Shaymin without breaking the game and it's probably also easier.
me who got all the mythical platinum events without glitching. Found a video where a guy tells you how to get the event items by changing your dns and getting a phone without a mandatory password hotspot. So i have a legit shiny darkrai in HOME. Still reseting for Shaymin 4 years later now.

Actually you can literally get any event pokemon in existence via mystery gift if you use that wifi system with your phone. And go do online battles + gts
Although the arceus item was never released it’s not true that you couldn’t obtain arceus legit. Nintendo had quite a few distributions where u could go to certain places in real life and get arceus for free. It is very weird that they programmed a whole in game event and item just to never use it though.

There is or I should say was a legal way to get blessy close to 1,200 HP but it was very hard and the effort required to do it was potentially useful in competition because of how the system works. Basically if you have a level 100 Pokemon and the system sets your Pokemon to 50 you get a much bigger bonus than if your Pokemon was level lower than 50 and did the same thing. The biggest reason why it does this is because it acts as if the Pokemon gained whatever levels would make the gap as if it hadn't gained the levels With any IV or EV values l. It acts like the lower levels being brought up were gained as if those values were zero regardless of how close to 50 you were or if you had maximum IV/EV values. In some cases it will even act as if you never had any values at all and it puts you at such a disadvantage that you might lose just because of that.

Actually you can only catch Gengar and other Pokemon if the GBA card is in the slot AND you have already gotten the national Dex..
