Marcelo BRUK I respectfully disagree. Kurt had an amazing sense of melody which Dave just doesn't have. It has been noted by a lot of people through interview etc that Kurt had an unusual and strange way of thinking which came out in his music and humour, compared to Dave who is described as more 'Straight forward and logical'. I'm not a huge fan of any of Dave's music, apart from his demos around the In Utero period of Nirvana. It just doesn't hit the same way as anything Kurt wrote for me. I think Kurt was clearly the most gifted member of Nirvana, but Dave and Krist play huge roles in the band as well and are often overlooked. They are/were all fantastic musicians but Kurt had something special that only others like John Lennon where able to capture. I admire Dave for all he has done and I feel bad for the guy, after all he has put up with a lot of shit but his mind just doesn't operate like Kurt's did in terms of music.
Marcelo BRUK Yeah I get what you mean now. Kurt was a great drummer, not many people know that because Kurt tried to keep it a secret. He wrote a lot of the early bass lines for Nirvana too. Although I’d say Dave is both a better drummer and guitarist than Kurt. However Kurt was a lot better at guitar than he let on. He had his own unique way of playing, and was fantastic at writing riffs. I saw the Foo Fighters last summer and it was amazing, but as I said before I just don’t connect with their music that much.

Kool-Aid hair Kurt was absolutely on point with his performances in January 92. Him at the peak of his power IMO.
