Geeze that's sad. He was working and lost track of time until 11pm and didn't show up to pick up his wife after her cancer treatment so she tried to drive herself but because she was so sick she got in an accident. He showed up at the hospital and tried to find her in the oncology department but she was in the ICU from the accident and had already died before he ever got there. His heavy drinking problem got him fired so he packed up and moved his daughter to a new town but due drinking two full packs of beer that day passed out while his daughter was hiding in the broken fridge and she died (the levels were dreams based on the art she'd done around the house while he was passed out). He got arrested for manslaughter afterward because his alcoholism and neglect were responsible for her death. He was brought to his own daughter's funeral by the cops on a day pass from jail, I'm guessing. Damn that's depressing.
@@Emmsley14 You're very welcome! I agree the game is very convoluted. I kind of love stories with unreliable narrators, though, and once I realized the cutscenes are reality and that the first level (in the basement with the red fridge) is also the last chapter of the story I realized the levels themselves were nightmares of past events twisted by his own perceptions (cold uncaring hospital staff for example), alcohol, and his daughter's drawings it made a lot more sense. lol
if there is one youtuber that manages to make their gameplays so peaceful, relaxing, and entertaining at the same time, and no matter what game it is, it's Gab! 💕
I looooove the Halloween / horror games binge! Very cozy and I enjoy drinking my lil pumpkin spice lattes and being wrapped up in blankets while watching
True you should try Madmorph channel he's awesome too but I watched everything on his channel 😅I'm waiting for more to be uploaded so I can binge again 😅
So, in the driving episode it was so weird because the way it shows it in the end, the Dad was actually there with his daughter the whole time, so there was someone in the backseat. But, he was drinking and driving, so he was hallucinating. The red truck passed them, likely because of his drunk driving and him being drunk, he construed that whole weird situation in his head.
Idk what it is, I just love these games with the driving-at-night interludes. It's calming but at the same time you know some sh-- is about to go down.
I like how she just skipped the house and asking for help and went straight for stealing from the barn 😂 better yo ask for forgiveness than for permission apparently 🤣
Wow I had just finished the first episode and was looking forward to the rest when this one posted!! What a great game, such nice scares but a very sad ending. I think they did a great job in several spots of making us feel lost with all the looping. The indie horror scene is so good these days!! Thanks for the video! ✨
Love the cover of the game, reminds me of an old Goosebumps book cover. My problem with so many horror games and even movies, is how they use horror as a metaphor for grief, not that it's a bad thing to do that but sometimes I just want to play a horror game for the horror aspect, to escape reality and be scared. Anyway great video! Loved watching you play this one.
See that’s crazy cause I love it. Not the suffering aspect but I think real life problems are so much scarier than fantasy characters and active paranormal beings, or a generic horror game.
@@embadly I totally get what you mean, real life problems like grief are super scary. That's exactly why I prefer horror games that provide an escape from that. I like being scared just not that type of scared. Real life problems are just too scary to me 😂.
0:55 so I'm wondering when we watched EP 6 with the father sitting in his chair drinking and he had a call from someone bringing there fridge in for repairs ,is it the same guy at the beginning of this episode who drives by you with the red fridge sticking out the back of his car 🚗?
When you are ready for a cozy break from horror games, you should check out Arcade Paradise! I think you would love it and it's flying under the radar imo.
I use to play Nancy drew and mystery games like sherlock homes and there was a really cool one about seven sailor boys with my mom when i was younger, there's something magical about people who still use a notepad to figure these games out.. It was one of my favorite childhood memories and you kinda give me that same feeling but better :)
Maybe the green squishy monster it’s an horror entity representing the Enger brothers killer side as if they were looking for you at the farm to kill hoy and then the monster as they already killed the cops so you cannot report to them. But as it is a horror nightmare before real explanation you see it as a true monsters going to attack the cops. Love the concept.💚🤍💀
In case you didn't and also wanted to know: the names of these places in the fifth episode seem to be german. Rotes-eis-burg is literally red-ice-castle and Schreiende-burg is screaming-castle.
Last ep I thought u were gonna say smth like "I wonder if it skips and she gets hurt but he doesn't notice" cuz that's what I think, the little girl gets hit by the glass but he can't see that cuz he's drunk or smth
Yeah I knew that ending was coming because of the fridge shaking. Another thing is that the father was fired from his job and that's what the first episode hinted at. I think that happened even before losing his wife. Losing his job put him in the depression, neglected his wife and daughter to the point of their death. A bit extreme, but decent. I wish there was a little more to it than that but still seemed ok. Also was it the guy who brought the fridge over the one who killed the wife??
Oh wow yeah that ending was incredibly sad. Spoiler ahead. . . . It's so horrible when kids dies because of parents doing one small error with terrible consequences. Like parents with toddlers who forgets them in the car. There was a case like that here in Sweden some years ago. The father completely forgot his sleeping child in the backseat and went straight to work when he was supposed to drop them off at kindergarten. When the kindergarten called like an hour later and asked where their kid was his heart dropped. His child was dead from a heat stroke. The mother of the child promptly divorced him. She couldn't forgive him for that error. I feel terrible for the father when I think about it still.
If he'd forgotten his child in the car, and forgot not saying goodbye to the kid (as you would do, dropping the kid off at daycare), then it's possible he was overworking and causing himself mental distress to begin with. If he forgets his kid in the car after strapping said kid in, talking to said child before they fell asleep, that's way beyond simple forgetfulness. It's a tragedy, yes, but the dad should have gotten mental help before, as an hour is a long time to forget your kid wasn't dropped off. I've heard of parents accidentally leaving their kids in gas station bathrooms and driving off accidentally, but those parents realize after about ten minutes.
@@BigGrabowski Oh yes, he probably had alot on his mind or even a burnout but either way parents of toddlers often try to push through any trouble that they have. And the waiting lines are long to see a therapist or even a counsellor in this country.
@@SpookiCooki True. That being said, it was a disaster waiting to happen, and I'm unsure if I would divorce in that circumstance. Unless he was already a crappy dad, I can't see any reason to blame him. The grief must have been too much for the mom.
I find it hard to sympathize with people who forget their kid. Mostly because it's too easy to deliberately kill your kid that way. A parent who would rather party or got a new lover and got "strapped down" by a kid would not think twice in finding a way to ditch their kid and "starting fresh". And we would pass it off as an "accident" when it's just legalized murder. Then there are those who are actually suffering from burnout.
Hello! There’s a new game Coral Island which is still in early access stage but you should definitely have a go as apparently best farming/adventure game out there
15:17 "I thought you guys where going to help me?" she says having just broken into the property owners barn with a crowbar in the middle of the night having not gone to the house first and asked for help or anything....to them you're a thief and stole their property and trespassed on their property and broke in.
@Bleh they should, and so should Amy and Mark make it final...if you love and care for someone as much as they do... complete the dedication to one another and make it legal. they've been together this long.🥰
I have a problem with horror stories actually just being just sad stories, tragedies disguised by hallucinations, poor coping mechanisms or purgatories. I feel like the horror element gets lost this way... gets diluted and even replaced by, most times, forced sadness. I like the game, I don't like the end of scenarios.
But, in a way, that is the horror. Stuck in your own hell of the decisions made and tragedies of your life, twisted by the inner mechanisms of your mind to torture yourself or make it something other-than. There's a place for such stories, is all I'm saying.
