I do the shipwreck method: Start a veil in the Roar and cancel it if you don't get the shipwreck quest, rinse and repeat until you do (Doing this in the Roar makes it more likely that you will get the shipwreck quest). Then just get all the Athena stuff from the wrecks, put in the veil stone, cancel and start again (being in the Roar also means less distance to travel to the next shipwreck site). You can get to emissary level 5 in about 30 minutes
Tbh 30-40 minutes is what it takes me to finish a veil, I usually do veil+emissary quest in around 1 hour for around 3 to 4 athena level in the 40s, I dont see the point in cancelling, finishing veil gives progress to the commendation too
I mean this is an okay guide, but a huge thing you missed is the fact that you can run a voyage at the same time as the grade 5 quest, meaning if you do a voyage of legends at the same outpost you claimed your athena 5 quest you can have loot from both quests on the same islands which easily doubles your loot and grants you 2 chests of legends from finishing both THEN you can rinse and repeat by lowering the flag and doing a veil and.....
a couple things. A: I 100% agree.(Literally was typing a similar comment before I saw this one) B: you can dive to the roar using the last shores of gold tall tale. C: if you get only the athena stuff you can get them done in about 2/3 of the time. D:Have a great day
that is the best way. I did it today. In the time I could do 1 veil as a brig which gave less than a level I got 1 1/3 levels doing phuzzys method but slightly more efficient(just getting the athena loot and knowing where the boats, which have specific spots, are)
Me and my buddy did this I haven't been really checking if it leveled up faster or not but doing the shipwrecks until grade 5 than finishing that veil was definitely worth it gold wise and you get way more Athena specific items. Not to mention all the gems you get I was thinking of doing that for hunters call I think we did 3 grave yards and had over 12 gems not a bad way to level hunters call if you don't like fishing
@@CodyTaylor115 Yep, killing two birds with one stone. But I guess if it’s too boring, Ashen Winds is a decent option until level 40 for skelly fleets.
I will probably do something like this until I get all of the veil related commendations then I’ll go with phuzzybond’s method of just doing the shipwreck portion of the veil, cancelling then voting it up again until I get another shipwreck
Cant really do a tutorial for best methods while playing on a galleon lol. You have a 4 player crew. You can do any raid quickly and easily with 4 capable players. Doing a veil on a solo sloop isnt easy, and takes quite a bit of time and puts you at high risk of being chased by other players. And you keep mentioning fort of fortunes… its borderline impossible doing a fof solo. You will 9 out of 10 times get sunk from another crew or jumped the second you complete it. Just do skeleton forts. Whether solo or with a crew its the best balance
Not exactly sure if the Sea Fort Raid even gives the new Athena Tailsman, as that's only given at Ashen Lords and higher. Granted, Sea Forts are best to get supplies before starting
I've done multiple Athena sea forts solo in a sloop. The treasure each time has been multiple small pouches of gold (30g avg) scattered around the fort. The store room at the top only ever has one small pouch of gold. The treasure room at the bottom always has 3 piles of gold (150g avg), 1 empty treasure chest, 1 Chest of the damned (not athena loot), 1 Crate of Legendary Voyages, and 2 Legendary Fortune Keepers that you can put into your empty treasure chest. This will get you about half way through rank 2 of your Athena Emissary.
You mentioned diving puts you on a fresh server but I wasn’t sure if you meant ‘empty’ server. I don’t know how many times now I emerge from a dive into the back of some poor souls ship and immediately sink them and rob. The mechanic is broken af. That being said the Athena tips are great.
What is the suggested method for someone who doesn't have access to all of the voyage types, because they're low level in Athena? The initial grind to gain access to these voyages looks to be the hardest bit, considering the first voyages you have access to don't even guarantee Athena loot
Do veils, i dont know if veils are locked to a certain level id they are i would. Be solo and hop for fofs as Athena. I think fofs gives thw best Athena loot
I strongly disagree. Going to the roar, starting a veil voyage till you get shipwrecks. Go to point, gather all loot from ships. Then reset till you get another veil sunken ships, do it again. You hit level 5 after doing this twice. It takes me 20 minutes to complete solo and I get 1.5 levels after selling, in 27 minutes. Since it’s in DR your sail times to next wreck are quick since it only spawns around 4 islands. Veils take 45 minutes minimum (52 after loot is collected and sold) for average player and net you 2.5-3 levels.
This is a slowish method in comparison to the fastest way.. Phuzzybonds method is definitely better than this. Use shores of gold to fast travel to the roar > vote up veils until you get the shipwreck module (increased chance in the roar) > put the first stone in for emissary grade then cancel and do another set of shipwreck modules. 2-3 ship modules will max your athena emissary in about 30 minutes because the islands are always close and repetitive in the roar. DON'T do the grade 5 quest or complete the rest of the veil, just lower and re-raise the emissary for it's xp chunk and start again. Even with the grade 5 quest islands being close you will waste too much time sailing to 4 islands for the amount of loot xp you'll get. Instead you can get back up to another grade 5 in that same amount of time with a good chunk of shipwreck athena loot that is going to give more xp with the additional grade 5 lowering making the gain higher than doing the grade 5 voyage. Been doing it all week and i'm lvl 81 now and in the top 200 athena emissary values in the world.
Yeahh.. no.. 5 hours of hourglass got me 20 levels. 6 hours of veils got me 3. Selling one emissary flag to the stranger can net you more than 3 veils combined

If you raid a fort it gives you Athena loot but yes it's not much but if you are just getting on it gives you supplies which is nice but I would only do it once not on repeat
