    I have lower back pain, high blood and peripheral artery disease. I take diuretics. From what I have read the creatine and diuretic will clash. Any suggestions on supplements for lower back pain and PAD?

    What is the easiest way to get the 20 mg s when starting the loading of creatine. Am currently lifting but not super aggressively so. 69 yrs old female.

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  9 місяців тому

      Probably not necessary to get that much, if healthy kidneys, then 2-5 grams a day will get you there as 1-2 weeks go by. The loading phase does not have to be overly complicated 🙂

      @@DrTomBiernacki I mean how do you take 20 mgs literally to make it palatable? Do you mix it in other foods? I am afraid it will make me gag.

    How often do you need to stop creatine intake and for how long?

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  7 місяців тому +1

      It's hard to get definitive long term data for anything, but realistically many people don't stop at all, nor is there clear evidence showing that you need to 😊

      Personally I think creatine is one of the most studied and safe supplements for most people short of significant kidney or liver issues. But nothing in the world is 100% safe😁

    I heard 20 g per day if you have osteoporosis. Is this true? 😊😊😊

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  8 місяців тому +1

      That seems a little high, personally for my weight of 225lbs I take 3-5 grams per day, loading dose in that range can initially be used for 5-7 days, but probably should not be that high afterwards

    I'd like to thank you for your awesome videos and the help you have provided to all of us out in UA-cam land. I went to my local podiatrist yesterday to examine a bump on the back of my heel. No X-ray was recommended. All she did was squeeze the affected area and up the calf and said it was a heel spur. She didn't specify that it was dorsal which is what it is since it's on the back heel. I learned that term from your video! She also said nothing about using an orthotic insole, a massage roller, ice bottle, or gentle stretching. Again, I learned that from you! While she did recommend a couple of shoe brands, Brooks wasn't one of them. Thanks to your online recommendations, I ordered the Brooks Ariel 20. Thank you again for all you do to help your online audience. You've been a real blessing to me. She also chuckled at using horse chestnut for vein support and said she only follows "the science". Apparently she hasn't read any of the documented studies about its benefits.

      😁 wow that is such an amazing compliment. Thank you so much. But I do sympathize for doctors in the hospital setting, you have to do everything in about 5-10 minutes... It's a tough system

    Don't Use Creatine if you have any form of CKD. Dangerous...

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  9 місяців тому +6

      Correct, but that is true taking any single thing that is processed by the kidney. Unfortunately that is what makes kidney disease so dangerous. I am working on a specific video looking at the specifics on the liver and kidneys and creatine right now that should be out soon. Great tip.
