You briefly mentioned leucine. I saw a video about replacing hmb with leucine. Had the same benefits and leucine is less expensive. I would like to know your thoughts on this. Thanks!
Yes, the human body can convert leucine, an essential amino acid, into β-Hydroxy β-Methylbutyrate (HMB). This conversion is part of the body's natural metabolic processes. Leucine is one of the three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), and it plays a crucial role in muscle protein synthesis and other metabolic functions. When leucine is metabolized in the body, a small portion of it (approximately 5%) is converted into HMB. The conversion process of leucine to HMB primarily occurs in the liver and muscles. HMB is a metabolite of leucine that has been studied for its potential role in reducing muscle protein breakdown and supporting muscle health and recovery, particularly in athletes or in conditions of muscle wasting. While the body can convert leucine to HMB, the efficiency of this conversion is relatively low. Therefore, for those seeking the specific benefits of HMB, such as athletes or elderly individuals looking to maintain muscle mass, direct supplementation with HMB might be considered.

But as of right now, my soreness is gone in 1-2 days instead of 3-4 days, which it has been for the last 8 months.

I’m 25, and I’ve been taking HMB for about 3 months now. One thing I can say for sure is I recover so fast. I workout for about 2 hrs a day and my job is on my feet kicking off racks for delivery everyday (night shift). Even when I’m 4-6 hrs of sleep. My muscles aren’t sore to the point of pain or I can’t workout. If they are sore, it’s very light or not at all. I believe it’s from the HMB. Mind you. I’m incline bench pressing 2 plates, cross body hammer curls are now at 85 lbs & my RDLS are at 335. I’m not bulky but I’m stronger than most of the average joes. My conclusion this shit works! (I also take creatine ofc)
Is this the same results as people taking BCAA’s ? Read that bodybuilders stopped taking BCAA,s because it didn’t help in muscle building, but didn’t take in consideration it help stop muscle loss
Good question. I purchased HMB powder several months ago but I didn’t take it because I was already taking BCAA on and off and thought the leucine in it would turn into HMB. I’m 42 y woman with muscle soreness and tendinitis issues, so exercise very little for now. I took BCAA because I generally don’t meet the daily protein recommendations, I find it difficult without stacking calories, and be cooking all day and protein shakes can be overwhelming to take for me. but I eventually reduced the days I take BCAAs when I heard saying “you already get them from food” so trying to increase my daily protein. In general I like to try one new supplement at the time because otherwise I wouldn’t know which one is working. I’m definitely gonna try now the HMB consistently (the powder form is not practical but I’ll try to scoop this acidic dry powder, I hope it will allow me to exercise properly.

Regarding HMB supplementation for teenagers, it's crucial to consult a healthcare provider before starting, as the safety and efficacy for this age group are not well-documented. As for interactions with Keppra (Levetiracetam), there's no widely available evidence on specific interactions between HMB and Keppra. However, given the importance of managing medication interactions, it's essential to discuss any new supplements with a healthcare professional to ensure they are safe to use together.

The best time to take HMB supplements can vary depending on your fitness goals and workout routine, but here are some general guidelines: Before Exercise: Taking HMB about 30 to 60 minutes before exercise may help reduce muscle damage and support recovery. After Exercise: Consuming HMB soon after a workout can also be beneficial for muscle recovery and growth, as this is when your muscles are most receptive to nutrients. With Meals: Some people prefer to take HMB with meals to enhance absorption. Consistency is Key: Regular daily intake of HMB is important for optimal results. Even on non-workout days, taking HMB can help in muscle recovery and maintenance. Dosage: Typically, a dose of 3 grams per day is recommended, divided into two or three doses. However, it's always best to follow the manufacturer's instructions or consult with a healthcare professional.
Maybe you meant creatinine? It sounds the same but I think it’s different, I’m not a doctor but I think it’s related to kidneys, you should have it checked with your doctor. Creatine might not be good with existing kidney issues, plus I don’t find it helping me but I’m a peculiar case, lots of muscle tightness and soreness Achilles issues, I bought one kilo of creatine, I don’t find it did any improvements. I think it propbably has to do with everyone goal and body, my objective is not pushing myself but rather exercising without soreness or getting injured. This kilo of creatine seems like it will never finish 😂. I’m finishing this and not buying it again.
Yes, there are several reasons why a woman might have high creatinine levels in blood tests without taking supplements. A carnivore diet could indeed be one of those reasons. Creatinine is a waste product produced by muscles from the breakdown of a compound called creatine, which is found in meat. A diet high in meat, especially a carnivore diet, can lead to increased intake of creatine, which in turn can lead to higher production of creatinine. Other factors that can contribute to elevated creatinine levels include increased muscle mass, strenuous exercise, dehydration, and certain health conditions. It's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider to interpret blood test results and understand the specific causes in individual cases.
Old people's muscles break down faster. See how he kept showing the old guy? This supplement is supposed to mitigate that. There is some hope that it could help young guys that get injured and need to rest. Help them to retain more muscle.
my brother is 62, when he was 52 he weighed 225 and worked out. in the last 5 years hes dropped 70 lbs. ended up being d3 deficient so we stretched his spine, legs, arms, for 2 days a week and 1 deep tissue messages, loaded 20k iu d3, magnesium, k2, zink, C. 2 larges juices of vegetables and fruits in a juicer and started him lifting weights. hes done a total 180 in 3 weeks but from what i am hearing, it takes 10k iu all year around to get the d3 to 50 on blood tests. at 50 is where you start to really see benefits
I started HMB approx 2 weeks ago. At the start of the year i was 120kg, and i reckon i probably should be around 85kg. So thats a 35kg fat loss needed, which is no small effort. I've been heavily restricting calories and dropping about 1kg a week so far. Just ticked over 14kg down. They say to do weights to try and preserve muscle mass, and i had been doing weights prior to the diet and was feeling pretty strong. The calorie restriction shot the shht out of my strength and all my lifts went downhill fairly significantly so i figured i was losing muscle. This decline has been consistent over roughly 3 months of dieting. After a bit less than 2 weeks on HMB, while maintaining what estimate to be a 1000 calorie a day deficit, my strength has started to go back up. Previously it was trending down and pretty sharply. The only thing i am doing different is the HMB, 1 gram 3 times a day and about 5000 units of D3. I already had creatine in my post workout shake, and one days serving of HMB goes in that as well. I can't say for certain its the HMB, but my strength rebound came fairly quickly after starting it
It's impressive to hear about your journey and the positive impact HMB seems to have on your strength recovery, even amidst significant calorie restriction. Your experience highlights the potential benefits of HMB in preserving muscle mass and strength during weight loss. It's a valuable insight for anyone considering HMB supplementation under similar circumstances. Keep monitoring your progress, and it might be worth sharing your findings with others embarking on a weight loss journey while trying to maintain muscle mass.
Your weight, is the same as mine, and in trying to get down to 100, maybe 95kg. I'm currently on Creatine, vit D, and zinc, magnesium, protein shake. I'm thinking about jumping into HMB.
@chaser5463 hit 90kg a week ago, so thats 30kgs down from where i started. The diet enthusiasm has worn down, so I am focusing on adding muscle now and rebuilding my strength. Still have about 10kg of fat to lose to be lean, but I need some time off to regain the drive. 5 and a half months of hard dieting was a long haul haha. Good luck with yours

Wow amazing! That is an amazing recovery 😊❤️🙏

Does this work on healthy individuals and increase their muscle mass or does it only work on people with muscle deficiencies?
It works for humans.

That’s the main ingredient in all Bcaa’s is Leucine might as well use a BCAA 🤷♂️
Why not just taking Leucin, with Creatin?
What about nmn
I got my best physique and muscle gains and leaness with HMB/CLA/3-5mg creatine
Wow excellent, currently I have been using hmb & creatine, my lifting is back to college football days 😁, I can personally feel a dramatic improvement 💪, how long have you been using it and what results?
What is CLA?
What brand do you use? And is this a powder or capsule form?
@@marshall6604Conjugated linoleic acid. CLA
@@marshall6604. Conjugated Linoleic Acid, which in my opinion is a pretty useless supplement. My best guess is that this person’s results are from the creatine and HMB, not the CLA.
I take it but cant say what it does im a lab rat and take many supplements
I’m 47 yrs old. People says I look like 30’s. This is before I discovered HMB.
(I also take creatine ofc)
how many grams of hmb a day?
Is this the same results as people taking BCAA’s ? Read that bodybuilders stopped taking BCAA,s because it didn’t help in muscle building, but didn’t take in consideration it help stop muscle loss
Personally bcaas are within whey protein already, that's why it didn't make any sense to me... Maybe I am missing something
Hmb is difference than protein powder, you do want protein, creatine as the core of your strength training for sure
EAA' s are the way to go. Get all your essential aminos...
@@Acadia708 BCAAs are a total waste of money. You need all 9 essential amino acids for them to be effective (EAA)
Therefore, for someone who isn't strength training, for their own reasons, is taking HMB useless?
There was some minor improvement, but best results were seen with strength training. You can do it, the most dangerous thing about strength training is not doing it! 😊🙏❤️
@@DrTomBiernacki I am suffering from polyarthritis on my legs; reactive arthritis turning to either psoriatic arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis. I am not privileged to strength train, I only do core and legs exercises home in a mat and try to walk as much as I possibly can, because of the pain. Currently, on both Medrol 16mg and methotrexate weekly injections.
How do you take HMB? Empty stomach or with food? I’m 57 and I take Creatine and D/K2 but how much HMB should I take daily?
Generally these studies go with about 1-3 grams, I list that in my dosage section and will have a more generic hmb video out in a couple days.
Hmb & creatine generally absorbed well, but fat soluble vitamins like a, d, e and k are best absorbed with some fat in a meal
wen people say a gram of protein per pound of weight thats the weight u wamt to be or at if your happy with ypur body.
Going to get creatine and HMB, am 69.
It didn’t last when it first came out as it didn’t do anything, people would have carried on using it like they did with creatine which came out around the same time, save your money
I don't disagree with you, but to saying it not selling well might be inaccurate. For example at bulk supplements.com it's the #1 selling supplement that I saw, tons of products out with tons of purchases on Amazon.
But you are 100% correct, I think for the main audience of young fitness crowd, it might not be the answer 😊🙏❤️
I tried it years ago and it didn't do anything for me.
I'm combining it with my creatine and so far some of the best gains I've ever had at the oldest age I've ever been. But it may be 99% the creatine 😅
Can teens take this, and is there an interaction with keppra?
Regarding HMB supplementation for teenagers, it's crucial to consult a healthcare provider before starting, as the safety and efficacy for this age group are not well-documented. As for interactions with Keppra (Levetiracetam), there's no widely available evidence on specific interactions between HMB and Keppra. However, given the importance of managing medication interactions, it's essential to discuss any new supplements with a healthcare professional to ensure they are safe to use together.
so i am 31 i dont sleep so much about 5,6 h i am taking cratin whey omega 3 zma vitamin d so do you think i can put hmb can i get somting from it or to donta take and yea i work all days 8h with sleep of 5,6h what you think for 31 year will it make somting or no i faind som on ebay 10$ 100 capsuls 1000mg hmb

@@ReverseGuy for muscle building hands down Nandrolone but if you don’t want to inject LGD or Rad140
You didn’t mention best time to take ir
The best time to take HMB supplements can vary depending on your fitness goals and workout routine, but here are some general guidelines:
Before Exercise: Taking HMB about 30 to 60 minutes before exercise may help reduce muscle damage and support recovery.
Thanks for commenting and I appreciate you!
Thank you, and have a merry Christmas and an amazing New Year! 🙏😊
On a cut I would use HMB
Is there a reason why a woman would have have high creatinine on blood tests without supplementation? Will a carnivore diet be a reason?
But don't you need your muscles to breakdown? Isn't that a crucial part of hypertrophy?
Old people's muscles break down faster. See how he kept showing the old guy? This supplement is supposed to mitigate that. There is some hope that it could help young guys that get injured and need to rest. Help them to retain more muscle.
There is one side effect you didn’t mention. It is a stimulant so don’t take at night! I was up for hours
I need to take one in the Morning 2 before i go to the gym and one before sleeping soo
Creatnee?
🤣
What's hme ?
Probably just a captioning error 😁
Isnt creatine better. I dont think uou should take them both atthe same time
Personally for me creatine is better, and I have not heard anywhere that taking both together leads to any issues. Do you have any sources? 😊❤️🙏
@DrTomBiernacki how do you mean sources? Is creatine monohydrate better than creatine hydrochloride please?
@@dg9015- yes creatine monohydrate is more preferred. Thorne Creatine is pretty good and it’s pure monohydrate. Google it lol
my brother is 62, when he was 52 he weighed 225 and worked out. in the last 5 years hes dropped 70 lbs. ended up being d3 deficient so we stretched his spine, legs, arms, for 2 days a week and 1 deep tissue messages, loaded 20k iu d3, magnesium, k2, zink, C. 2 larges juices of vegetables and fruits in a juicer and started him lifting weights. hes done a total 180 in 3 weeks but from what i am hearing, it takes 10k iu all year around to get the d3 to 50 on blood tests. at 50 is where you start to really see benefits

thumbs down. You talk about creatine, title says HMB. everybody knows about creatine. Also dont call it creatinine
No offence but this video was kinda useless

I'm sorry did you just compare hmb to steroid injections? Now I know you don't know what you're talking about
I said if the study was true that would be more than a steroid injection, that's the point that I was making exactly 😁
