Greetings from New Scotland, Nova Scotia! Our landscape looks exactly like yours! Ps/ Why do you not just pave with new pavers right over the old ones? Saves time, you got enough stone anyway and helps the foundation.
Hiya 🌞, one of my favourite Burns was " ode to an crawlie"- all about an insect that made a tour of a ladies Sunday bonnet unbeknownst to her and how proud she was of what she assumed was the congregation's admiration of it!The sermon was against vanity! And it was in the tongue and l had to learn it one rainy Saturday afternoon for my Grandmere! ;" Ach! Whe're ye gang,ye fearsome crawlie? Sa brae n sae brash on the Mistress's bonnet!" The whole lilt and cadence made me learn galic from her and created an enthusiasm for poetry in general that's been a lifelong joy😊 .Funny what nudges us along certain ways in life. Anyway, do enjoy your programs, and reading the comments along the way! Best wishes aĺl,J.I.M.K Mrs. Australia 🇦🇺 ❤ 😊
My daughter came home from school, and protested with a look of horror that she had to eat "Haggis, Neeps, and tatties for lunch because it was Rabbie Burns birthday. "It was yuk" she said. "I wouldn't care, but he's not even in my class"
Yer wee Shauna reminded me of that auld rhyme ' Mary had a little lamb its' fleece was white as snow and everywhere that Mary went the little lamb would go It followed her to school one day which was against the rules , it made the children laugh and play to see a lamb at school '.
Another joyful post! The wall looks great, Katie! Excellent looking trailer, Scott! Shona is getting so big, and pretty, and adorable. I had to laugh at Brie not wanting anything to do with the fly screens. Whoever said sheep aren't that smart has never met yours. 🙂
Oh!! A farmer I will be da da da Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 I mentioned this last year you need a hat with netting because we know you love those MIDGEES keep up the good work you two. 😊
As An Skianach, I love your channel...and am interested to see how you do cope with a full Midgy season. 😮 There is the curse and the blessing. The best time of year often brings the worst of times in the western highlands. As for the fence (sorry, lol), I will refer you to my Nan (a Maclean) , who said, there is no fence that can keep a Deer out or a Border Collie in! 😉 ....so good luck with that ❤
Hi , my god what a busy pair you are , loving the fancy sheep Blinds 😂. What a cosy pen they now have . Great job Scott on repairing the trailer . Great video 👍. Thanks for sharing 😘
Hello Katie and Scott, another great video today. Good job on mending the fences. Also Katie you did a great job at restoring the walls inside the home. And Scott great repairs on your scooter/towing cart. You did a good job on that.Let's not forget the sheep's housing doorway, good way to deflect the flies. And of course the small little sheep she's growing so fast. Sorry I can't remember the names of all your animals but I do enjoy watching them in the video. Looking forward to the next video.
Your positive drive to get on and get things done is really fantastic to watch. The weather is very changeable at present, but still great to observe. This must have been a full on week, as you have again packed a lot into video 72. The door needs to be sanded...as an original it would probably want to look like its younger self again! Thank you for sharing your day-to-day lives with us -it is a please to watch you really settled in on your Scottish Isle.
43:39 I am genuinely envious of this glorious weather! We haven't had proper rain where I am for several weeks, and I'm just waiting for the first glorious storm of the year! It looks so beautiful! And yay for the trailer finally being fixed!
Was anchored close to your house in a catamaran last night 14th of May ,one of our favourite anchorages ,did the silver walk ,stunning views before the rain came !
LOL just read 'to Simon Gray' and it really made me laugh. Thanks for that and thanks for all your videos. Keep them coming, love them. Best wishes to you both and to the cats and sheep, especially little Shona ♥
I love your video's and can't wait for the next one. You have a wonderful life style and your love of animals warms my heart. Looking forward to seeing Shona's antics.
Hi Really enjoyed watching number 72 and loved the diversification of all things of a practical nature. Shona is fabulous as is the scenery. Thank you. 🐏🐑🐈⬛
Such excellent info on structures like that needing breathable paint. So necessary. Things can get unhealthy fast, not just unsightly. And, oh, people say a lot about the horrid weather in Scotland. But this Texan thinks it looks wonderful. I think the light and the changes in greenery are really doing the job of making everything more rich. It will be amazing to see across the seasons how much changes.
Lovely content today you can see how busy you have both been around the place , pointing looks fantastic Katy . But I am waiting to see you reel in a fish for your supper Katy . Sharyn and Rosie from New Zealand ❤️
This vlog cracked me up when you were trying to wind Katie up Scott, with the gladiator theme , love that half the time she just ignores you and changes the subject 🤣 Great job on trailer and mortaring in the cottage . Love the chat at the end of filming . I agree with a lot of others that the clarity of filming is really good just lately , although everywhere is looking beautiful at the moment as in the coastline , trees, mountains and plants .Look forward to next vlog and thanks for taking us along with you and all the lovely animals on your weekly journey , ooh and thanks for the footage of the storm with the music , it made me nod off after watching this after my night shift 😊
Working that fence made me Cringe but seeing you both still smiling helps the medicine go down so to speak ❤ omg the walls are looking amazing!! Geeves is as big as the baby lamb love watching all your content
I admire your efforts to repair the fence. But is there any reason you didn't just staple the fence to the tree stump? Way easier, cheaper and 20 times as strong. Shauna is growing like a weed. What a cutie! The two adult sheep looked a bit dumbfounded at the fly screens lol. How nice that the boards to repair the wagon were exactly the right size - now there's a repair that was meant to be! Well done! And, Katie, well done on the mortaring! I've been sod busting in my garden this week, but I have to say, my body doesn't ache nearly as much when I watch you two work :) Have a lovely week!
Hard work on those walls Katie. I’ll be doing a sloppy job in the next couple days. Making ghee. I make and can enough for a year. A tasty fat to fry my foods
One word on the trailer fix, BRAVO. Little Shona is so cute as are her sisters. I really enjoy the chats at the end great way to conclude the videos. Don' know if this has been asked but do you all own the cottage or renting? Hope you don't mind my asking
I love the labor involved in maintaining a fence; I wish I was there to help you (heck, I want to live in a cave on the Isle, within shouting distance and available to help you when needed. Considering the history of the ancient techniques to enclose or protect a space, have you considered works such as hedgerows and split timber rails? There is probably enough dead wood and stone to build some wonderful fences on the Isle, which are free to build and appropriate to the ancient site. Just a thought, your life there is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing it.
when I watch you guys its so nice to see you have a good relationship .even if you pull each others leg now and again. your place looks nice as well and your little lamb looks happy as well. never lose sight of why you decided to leave the rat race behind . its just a pity that Scott can't just nip down to his local hardware store to get the stuff he sometimes needs to always do the job a bit quicker mind you Rome was not built in a day. at leat he's got a pair of helping hand with Katie enjoy the nice weather why you have it
Like Nova Scotia. Rocks everywhere under the soil. I know it’s what the owner wants, but I don’t like fences. Admire a man that knows his Andy Stewart songs.
Do you ever get to veiw the Northern Lights??? Major sun flares accuring at moment. 😊 your picture pixels are cleaner, focus seems better. Maybe the dish has improved the images. ?????
When you guys were talking at the end. The background and surroundings literally looked like a photo studio set up for portraits. Scott your phone camera takes such clean crisp videos, what type of camera is it?
You're probably trying to drive that fence post into a tree root from that whopping huge tree next to you. Just a guess. I like your rain storms. We get what I call thunder boomers. Three or four huge thunder rumbles, a couple of lightning flashes and 10 minutes of hard rain. Then it's all over. I'd love one of those rain showers that are kind of a light rain or almost a mist. Our rain flattens everything. It recovers eventually, but it's harsh.

Lol
Ok, that's a classic! Type that up and frame it somewhere. It's too good to forget.
She's right, she's not in the same class as Rabbie Burns. But she may be one day.
😂😂😂😂😂
As you were walking down the hill, it was a perfect shot for “Katie had a little lamb…”
Katie has a little lamb, her fleece is white as snow. And everywhere that Katie goes, Scott is sure to follow.😁
We laughed until we cried watching Scott unfurling the fly strips! We thought he was going to do the fandango 😉🙃
OMG listen to her bleets! My heart just melted. She's going to be living her best life with you. Xxx
Thank you guys, and well done for the fencing job! I love how Shona is clearly still working out quite how her legs work! So funny!
Love the island, shauna she is gorgeous, her lovely little bleep,,thank you for sharing, take care ,
Just love seeing Shona jumping and running like a little lamb. It'll be interesting to see how she integrates with the sheep.

Great job Scott on repairing the trailer . Great video 👍. Thanks for sharing 😘
Put a cross brace on from the top of the fence post to the top of the tree stump and it'll be rock solid.

The nail hooks won't adhere to the trees. The bark is too wet.
@@TheScottishIsle Wow, now I understand what it means to live in a rain forest!
Really enjoyed the video, thank you.

Lovely Vlog. I am wondering if you get particularly hot this time of year in your coats? When can Shona be introduced to her sibling sheep?
Scott remember ZZTOP song😊

Hello to all.
You probably couldn’t get that post to go in any deeper because of all the roots from that cedar that fell
Lovely vid today!! Thank you! How’s the Starlink working now??
Perfectly! No issues at all.

I’ve seen fly screens done with knotted rope. Maybe they would be more durable
Do the big military aircraft do mapping in Scotland.? I've heard they do this in France.
Theres a statue of Robbie Burns in the centre of my city in NZ...fk knows why, he never went there😅
