My Mate Karlos, has been collecting parts for while in order to upgrade his FN2 Civic Type R engine to a K24 Frank, which for those who may not know is when you use the block from the Accord 2.4 (K24) coupled with the cylinder head from a 2.0ltr K20 (Z4 RSP2 head in this case). So I jumped in the van and headed over to lend a hand and make a bit of a video of the journey :)

No sponsors, no support, just me doing my thing and filming it so when I am old and knackered I can look at some cool stuff I did once :)
Gute Arbeit 👍 mein Größten Respekt
Looks a tidy little build that! 💪
Yeah man, its gonna be a handful 👌
Hi ! Is there a way to know how much time, parts and money it took to do the swap please ? I think a K24 fit the Fn2 better than the k20 thanks to boost of low-end torque.
The answer to both is "lots" if nothing goes wrong and all the parts you get before starting work as intended, then a single weekend should be just about long enough. In terms of cost, you'll need a bottom end from a K24, and engine mount from a CRV I think. I'm sure there are other parts too, I'll get the owner to come and answer that question for you.
Does all auxilleries fit
Like Ac and Alternator
Im thinking on a k24/k20 build for my fn2 also
I believe they do 👌
This looks like an excellent conversion to do to a FN2. I'm considering selling my DC2-R, buying a FN2 and doing this conversion.
Ideally I'd love to be a bit more familiar with K series especially the timing gears. I can rebuild (and turbo) a B series motor but I've never messed about with the K.
If you want more information the owner can be contacted in our discord group where chat all things Honda, pretty much everyday lol. Loads of k series experience in there. A link can be found in the video description.
@@captainsvlog thanks mate, it's appreciated. I haven't messed around tuning Hondas for a good few years. Last one I did was a full engine build and turbo conversion on my DC2-R, all done by me, fabrication the lot. So would be nice to see if I can manage a K24 conversion. It looks pretty straightforward. I just need to find someone interested in my Integra
How much in parts do you reckon the build cost? And what power did you get out of it when mapped? Only 5 mins into the vid so you might say soon but I'm an impatient bugger lol
Im sure Karlos can answer that, but I do know he was collecting parts for a good while, not been on the dyno yet, but I have been passenger and can confirm it rips hard, and the chassis work on this car makes it handle insanely good. The FN2 got a bad rep but this is the complete "fast road car" package and he procured all the right parts to execute this plan; the results are excellent!
That depends on how far you want to go with things, I wanted to refresh as much as i could with the car and i took advantage of tegiwas 10% off bank holiday offer so £1500 in parts and 750 for the engine, It can be done Cheaper or certain parts could be reused but while i had everything out it made sense.

@@karlbradish6486 thanks for listing the parts and info Karl, it's very informative and interesting. I'd love to do this to a FN2.
I I want to do the same to mine do this guy still do this and what parts do I need to
All the info is around in our discord server, flick through the video descriptions and you'll find a link to the group. Karlos has sold that car but is still very active and still happy to help with the knowledge!
Hi mate did they use the same Fn2 engine mounts or do you need to change them
@@MindMazeRiddles1 standard mounts as far as I can remember.
I went out in this today. Very impressive power, 270 bhp and boi it puts u in ur seat.
Karlos is a top bloke and knows his stuff when it comes to these.
Thanks for the link 👍
Ah nice, yeah he's a top boy for sure, been a huge help throughout my project and that FN2 is a beast on the road, people slate the FN2 for handling but that thing is serious 👌 still slower than the Ej9 tho 🤣🤣
So no Adjustment was done to the exhausted and also all the original engine mount were reused use?
all the original engine mounts were used yes, the exhaust is very tight to the underside of the car now, but nothing a little clearancing cant fix :)
Best thing I did on my ep3r was the k24 bottom end, its got so much grunt down low, hope you're enjoying it
He is loving it, mad fast thing, handles proper aswell, he spent some time working on the tyres/brakes/suspension and its very well sorted now !
Maaaate I fancy this conversion. Supercharging is spin city
its very tight for space, but it can be done! This car I believe also holds the NA FN2 dyno record at Dynodaze aswell :)
Did they use stock ecu or had to add a piggy back
Stock ECU, as the FN2 is FlashPro ready so you can custom tune the ecu via the hondata flashpro unit
Great little video dude, very entertaining! Can't wait to see it once it's done! :D
It's a cool car 😎👌🏁 gonna be a ripper for sure!
Fkin great mate! Details to superb
Them boys got the knowledge, I just spent the day moving things about and waving a camera in their faces ha ha ! Cant wait to get back to days like that man, been toooooo long!!!!!!
Ready for some serious rips now!! 💪👀
Oh yeah, and he will rip it for certain!
Wicked upload guys , positive vibes
Thanks man, was a cool experience
what products did you use to treat the rust mate? thanks
Just the hammerite rust eater gel, the green stuff. Can also use jenolite rust remover, there are others too but those are fairly accessible and affordable compared to some.
@@captainsvlog cheers bud!
I’d love this
Its very cool indeed :)
