Just got this ball the other day. Took me two games to figure how to use and bowled my best game so far on my third. It’s only 163 but it felt like it came easy with that ball. Can’t wait to get better with it.
The bowling alley near us growing up in the late 60's/early 70's had the same style wooden benches. Of course back then they were not "retro" they were new(er). Extremely comfortable and when they would refinish the wooden lanes they would also refinish the benches. Everything gleamed for the fall season.
Sometimes the 2.0 Hybrid goes a little too long on the fresh for me. Much better when I bring it out for transition, so I'm absolutely getting this to compliment it. Ball has looked great from everything I've seen so far from numerous reviews.
Love the commentary and your thought process, very relate-able, even when you don't love your shot. Probably too strong for me, and our house, but I can think of many people who would love this ball. And it's cool to see how HK22 in a solid gets the ball back without rolling out.
Good video! I been seeing results and motion from the hitter in very positive way! Now you seeing the "window" is bigger than that one,ill be looking at this for sure!
WOW!!! I have the 2.0 solid and love it but as I watch this bad boy and the reaction once it makes it's move is ridiculous! My 2.0 is a very controlled reaction but a little to forward rolling. It hits and carries really well but this 3.0 has taken it to the next level. Maybe even a level or two above that! Well done sir and thank you for your reviews. Informative, educational and entertaining. Looking forward to your next. Also congrats on the 794!
Just got mine and I absolutely love it...loved the 2.0 so figured I would...great video on the ball! I usually throw 15 but have been wanting to go to 14, this is my first one! I feel like the extra speed helps with the super strong motion! Great Ball if you're on the fence get it
I recently had this bowling ball in my cart to buy it earlier this month but I canceled the order. I have a Columbia 300 Atlas (another solid ball) and it lacked the bite that I was looking for in bowling balls. I primarily use Columbia 300 products but I wanted to venture away and after reading reviews on this ball I deleted it. I spoke to my pro shop and told them what I was rolling (Columbia 300 Mad Antics) and they displayed 6 balls for me to chose from and the Columbia 300 High Speed. My Mad Antics was hit with a 4000 grit Abralon sand prior to buying it. So I told my shop to hit that High Speed with it too. They did and my first game with it I rolled a 256 with it. Finished with a 736 for the night. I currently avg. 218 on my league. I really wanted the black widow 3.0 but I was once bitten by a solid ball and I like the way a reactive resin treats me so I stayed with High Speed and it was by far the best ball I have ever rolled and worth the 201 total price.
I had the original Black Widow (2006) and the No Mercy, however, when they (Hammer) began diluting the line (6 balls in less than 3 years each promising to be the most aggressive cover stock to date) I moved away from Hammer. I loved my '06 Widow but I wouldn't throw a modern Widow. I view the Gas Mask core like Motiv's Gear Core the difference is the Gear Core has been in 11 different balls Venom and Tank lines each with a very different cover stock (Solid, Pearl, Hybrid, Urethane, MCP) none promising to be more aggressive than the other but instead filling a different slot in the bag. Much like you, I liked the Gas Mask Core, however, it really never matched up with my game, the gear core matches my game better. I like what you do, so thumbs up. A staffer threw this in league last night our house conditions weren't enough to contain this ball, so he had to ball down halfway through the first game.
Damn you. You got me with, “This ball just makes a different sound when it hits the pins.” I know exactly what you mean and that is the main thing I look for in a ball. Also, I have never gotten along with a big asym solid, so this might be the one.
Thanks for the info on your layout. I’m guessing you use a smaller drill angle and longer pin to compensate for your tilt? Is this your standard layout for your ball reviews?
Great review! There’s an overseas Black Widow Pearl 2.0 with HK22, that I’m thinking it would be a great step down to the 3.0. If you were to drill it what layout would you use for the 2.0 Pearl?
We don’t get any information regarding overseas balls and layout is dependent on ball speed, axis tilt, and rev rate. Would recommend talking with your local PSO
Black widow bite was a great ball but the black widow black gold was an amazing ball. Not slpw down lane. Bg was the best ebonite cover ball hammer made. The hk22 cover isnt working for my game.. to over under for my game
Why is it that all of you guys that are doing reviews on this bowling ball do not show a wide angle from behind you to show the actual trajectory of your release from behind the foul line
We have gotten great feedback about the camera angle used as it enables us to zoom in closer to the lane to see the ball motion and still ensure a clear picture.
Frank shot 794 in league right after this video was made. The ball looked great on fresh and through the transition for him all night.
That's awesome and good to hear.
Animal
That's Frank the Tank. That's what HIM do! 😂

Those are some SWEET benches in the settee area!
Wabash is a great house!
I was thinking the exact same thing.
my favorite benches to sit on very retro

@@philpeters8200 the house I bowled at as a kid 50 years ago had the orange fiberglass curved benches. They still have them today even!
The layout you put on this ball almost guarantees the smoothness you talk about.

Yes, the Bite was a beast in my hands, too!
I bowled my first 300 with the black widow ghost and my second with the 2.0. I bowl at Wabash every other weekend in a couples league.
Bill O’neil shot good with it on Monday for the Pba Player’s Championship as well 🤙🏾🔥
I saw he switched from one that looked like box surface to a polished one. The shiny one looked good!
@@Samuel-xs2yv yep it did. The dull one was burning up while the shiny one stored energy for the end
Loved the Hammer Pearl,Bowled my first 300 with it😊
I have the stealth solid you mentioned. My favorite ball to roll!

First time and I subscribed! Very nice content and tech talk. And yes this ball is a mean machine. Love it!
Awesome, glad you liked it and thanks for following!
Id like to point out the responsiveness of that ball return at wabash lanes... whew good job house... good job
It’s a great house!
Just got my 3.0 haven't got a chance to bowl with it yet. After watching this great video I can't wait. Thanks!

Nice BW 3.0 video! I am thinking of getting one and have been watching a ton of reviews. All have been good 👍
Good choice!
When speaking about your layout numbers can you show the ball at the camera. I just want to see what 30x5x didn’t catch the last number looks like.

Some balls just hit different ✅🔥
I shot a 879 last night in league!! RIGHT OUTTA DA BOX!! THIS BALL ABSOLUTELY KILLS!!!!
3 games or 4? Lol, congratulations.
3!!!
I’m curious? Seeing your release and how it’s drilled.
35 x 5 1/4 x 30

man i thought i loved my 2.0. i feel like the more speed i put on it the harder it hooks but this looks effortless
Just shot my first 800 (802) with a 300 game 2 with my 2.0 Solid. Really looking forward to the 3.0 solid.
That’s awesome, congratulations!
@@Tenbackbowling and I love the 3.0 as well. 740 and 661 out of box!
@tenbackbowling I see that you have it drilled with the pin up, how far up is the pin from your finger holes?
HI Frank -- Have you used the Track Archetype? If so, what are your thoughts comparing the Black Widow 3.0 to it?
3.0 is cleaner through the fronts and much more continuous downlane than the archetype.

8:20 you hit high in the pocket (barely) speed up a lil bit
What’s your layout?

Great review! What are you using to film yourself?
New iPhones 🔥 cameras are so good nowadays lol
@@Tenbackbowling How is it following you? Or is someone filming you with some sort of stabilization?
Tripod with someone moving it
Curious what your grip specs are. Thumb looks left of your middle finger...

what about the widow 3.0 toxin?
How is this ball compared with the Motiv Raptor Fury?
Black widow 3.0 is much more responsive downlane. Raptor fury has a much smoother overall shape.
