Anyone know what surface adjustments Bill O'Neill made with his 3.0 on his match vs Tom Smallwood for the Player's Championship? Shiny 3.0 looked real good
Getting mine tomorrow. By specs for my fitting, my launch and down lane speed are about 3mph faster with a 400 rev rate. Will let you Know after my pro shop drills it and I throw a few.

Maaaan another Widow! How would you stack this one up against The Hitter? Need to fill the stronger asym slot in my league bag and I’ve got it down between these two.
Hey Nick, are you bowling on the PBA tour? I can't remember seeing any videos from you regarding bowling professionally, but I've just started watching bowling videos this season. Your accuracy and consistency amazes me, but I realize that video editing is a thing, so maybe you just edit out all of your bad shots, though I don't think that you throw many bad shots, you bowl so effortlessly. Secondly, are there many Pro-Amateur bowling events that happen, where amateur bowlers have a chance to compete against the pros? I'm enjoying bowling again after over 35 years, that I'm going to start looking for some senior tournaments, as I like to compete, and miss it from my youth as an amateur athlete in a few different sports. I'm loving my Black Widow 3.0, as well as my Rotogrip Harsh Reality.
I was pro for 15 years or so, mostly just a regional player. Haven’t competed much since 2015. You can bowl with pros during tour season pretty much at every stop they have. There’s pro ams there.
I just bought this to replace my storm tropical surge because the storm don't wanna hook it works better as a spare ball lol how would you compare the 2
Hey Nick! Awesome as always. Is the Aggression cover stronger than Semtex? I ask because the Hazmat is more expensive than the Widow line which makes no sense to me if the Aggression cover is stronger as well as asym vs. sym. This 3.0 along with the Hazmat would make an unbeatable 1-2 punch on most conditions.
Widow has always been in a lower price point down from the high end. It's not entirely how aggressive a ball is that determines the category. Widow should be at the top, but we don't want to change anything about it, especially the value.
Being dull, it’s important to refresh the surface more often. It only takes a few games to lane shine, so hitting it with SiaAir pads to keep it dull is a good idea.
That’s the ending grit I believe but to get a true box surface you need to recreate the steps from the beginning. Try it with 2000 by hand and see. If not, try 1500. It all can depend on how you throw.
How does the 3.0 solid compare to the 2.0 solid? I have the 2.0 and even at 500 grit it still hits hard. I assume the 2.0 reads sooner without hk, while the 3.0 is a little stronger and corners harder, but not as much as the 2.0 hybrid. Thoughts?

Nice video Nick! On the 1st shot : you said you were more off the back of the ball not much side rotation, but on the contrary you had plenty of side (which is your usual shot). And it wasnt that straight of a shot on the track either. It was 11 to 5. My question is : will this play ok for down and in players or will it usually spend too much energy too early? Also something to keep in mind : as you went left further and further, the ball was getting shinier, so it could manage to be a bit more skid flippy. (this happens in all ball reviews of course).
It’s relative. Am I more on the side compared to the shots from 15 and 20 left? And I think if you have the ball speed, the Widow can be a great ball for down and in.
@@brunsnick I realize it is not easy to change axis rotation by a lot for most people. I see this on other ball reviewers as well. They may mention a big change in axis rotation, but then it is small , sometimes none. It's no biggie, i am a nitpicker lol. Also the camera angle may trick the eye a bit. More or less most of your shots look like 55-60 degrees, somewhere around there. Could be wrong. Your speed was certainly lower, and maybe a bit more rpm. Ball looks great on a house shot. Do you think it might look better on patterns towards 4 to 1 , 3 to 1 ? Gotcha for the down and in. It's gonna need speed. Thanks!

Good choice. I’d talk to your pro shop about layouts. I have no idea how you bowl or track without a thumb. Keep the surface duller and throw it hard like you like to, so long as they can drill it to flare and not hit your fingers you’re golden.
Tested a BW3.0 at a demo yesterday. As much as ive loved it when seeing others use it, it turned out not to fit my style of play. If my speed/revs were better matched, maybe. But otherwise, found it to be very unforgiving for someone like me whos still not very experienced

I know nothing about bowling but that ball seems to go thru the pins better than most balls I’ve seen. Also do you ever answer stupid bowling questions I’ll get laughed at?
Is this a good ball for me? So bought my first ball last summer a tropical surge. I like it when it hooks back in but the last few games I’ve played it hasn’t been hooking much so I feel like I’m missing lots of strike opportunities. I bowl 2 handed right handed or I can bowl left handed with just one hand but it hurts my shoulder pretty bad. I think my surge is a 11-12 pound I can’t remember so I definitely want to go up to at least 13 pounds maybe 14
If you have the ball speed for it, sure! It’s a big step up from what you got. Best to talk to your pro shop and let them watch you bowl some shots and make a suggestion. You might be better suited in the 2.0 Hybrid instead. 👍🏻

Tested a BW3.0 at a demo yesterday. As much as ive loved it when seeing others use it, it turned out not to fit my style of play. If my speed/revs were better matched, maybe. But otherwise, found it to be very unforgiving for someone like me whos still not very experienced
Would this ball be a good everyday driver for someone thats only planning on having one ball?....for now
A lot of people probably do just have a Black Widow in their bag. Have at it.
Why you blowing the thumb hole before shoot? See many players do it.
Moisture helps with a secure grip
@@brunsnick thanks Will try it!
is there a video out there explaining why he has his ball drilled the way it is

I know nothing about bowling but that ball seems to go thru the pins better than most balls I’ve seen. Also do you ever answer stupid bowling questions I’ll get laughed at?
I answer all questions if I can.
@@brunsnick okay. I was curious why was urethane banned? If so good then everyone could use it so don’t see the advantage to using it?
Urethane isn’t banned. PBA Tour changed the minimum hardness rule for urethane balls from 73 to 78.
@@brunsnick but why change it at all? If everyone has access to the same balls I don’t see the need to ban the hardness then?
Great question.
As a 2 hander this ball is going to RIP I can't wait
What is the PIN location on this layout pin up a pin down on the 60x5x 20
The pin is up
What's up with the holes and layout of his ball? I've never seen a ball drilled that way before
