You can't knock a kid for wanting to go but as a parent, you don't let a sociopath be around your child no matter what.
CChavezjr7: Johnny didn't mean to have Robby knocked out when he ranned into the lockers. Robby simply slipped into them.
@@Critic_Chris90210 That has nothing to do with what I said.
@@cchavezjr7 Sorry, what did you mean?
@@Critic_Chris90210 As a father, Johnny has a duty to keep Kreese as far away from his kid as possible. That guy is a certified nutjob and abusive and has no business being around kids. Sure, the kid thinks he knows what he's doing but that's why he's a kid and not an adult.
@@cchavezjr7 a lot of adults don't know what they're doing either 😂
This is the way you continue a story/franchise and Hollywood could learn a thing or two from this show.
Isn't this also Hollywood though?
Better than the original.
Yes. Don't try to remake or change the original (plot, characters, etc.). Instead, respect the foundation and build on it in a way that honors the original.
@@theBabyDead my thoughts exactly
@@theBabyDead it was originally a youtube series but UA-cam couldn’t fund the series so Netflix bought it
Yes!! This scene was awesome, seeing Johnny take on his old teacher for making a mess of his student/surrogate son (Miguel) and now making his actual son (Robby) take part of Cobra-Kai and then Daniel coming in to save Johnny from being choked to death and also to send a message to Kreese to never mess with his daughter in such a violent way. Two great students who became great teachers was awesome. The score was so good too. Btw, the pressure points techniques DOES exist in Okinawa style karate, especially in Goju ryu, but it's not a hidden secret. When you can, Check out Only The Strongest: ua-cam.com/video/iki1kfG2Gc8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=KungFuFights
Also, Karate Kid came out in 1984
yep man thanks for the clarification, hopefully he eventually gives the series a shot and hopefully reacts to tons more cobra kai fight scenes throughout the channel, this series was amazing and shouldn't be as good as it actually is lol
@@mikeoliver5223 this show is definitely worth all its cheese and callbacks to the original movies. Can’t wait for the next season coming in two or three months. Gonna be great
That fight on only the strongest was absolutely terrible XD
Tuite absolutely exists. Don't think this is it though.
You can tell Johnny actually has some real karate training while Daniel does NOT.
William Zabka trained in martial arts right after the original karate kid
Ralph is literally the US ambassador for Karate
Yeah Macchio's movements are empty, he's just moving his arms and legs
Both William Zabka (Johnny) and Martin Kove (Kreese) are real-life Tang Soo Do practitioners.
They both continued training with Pat E.Johnson, who was the martial arts instructor/fight coordinator of the original movie. (he plays the referee during the Karate tournament in the original movie.)
Pat E. Johnson is a well respected TSD grandmaster and the guy who invented the point system, used in official Karate, Tae Kwon Do & Tang Soo Do tournaments.
Also, Sensei Kreese's look & whole ''Strike First, Strike Hard''-philosophy was apparently inspired by legendary full-contact Karate champion Joe Lewis and Martin Kove is a real-life Vietnam War Vet, just like his character.
@@dimitriwilliams9340 no, William trained BEFORE The Karate Kid.
Before he learned the Korean form of Karate called Tang So Doo, he actually had a wrestling background. It's not Karate per-say before he got his role but he did have martial arts background. If you treat wrestling as martial arts...
You just gotta love that Matrin Kove (who's playing Kreese) is one of the nicest guy.
No he's not. He's the same asshole in real life. If you're going by interviews he's in it's all an act. I know him through my work boss. he's the same asshole

There's not a lot to react to in the Daniel vs. Chozen fight, but you need to watch it anyways. Chozen is still so angry, so full of rage - but he was just testing Daniel, he's actually made peace with himself, and grew a sense of humor. Chozen has become the true heir and master of Miyagi-do karate.
He wasn't angry. He was messing with Daniel. That was the gag! lol
He was legit trolling Daniel until he could get in the "Honk".
6:54: "If a man can't stand, he can't fight." - Terry Silver.
Ah man, bro. You really need to watch the whole series! Love that you’re covering this fight, it’s one of the best!
I just started watching it!!! Its honestly way better than I thought it was going to be!
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 I’ll admit I was a little hesitant to watch it but when it premiered the first two episodes were free on UA-cam so I tried it. It’s so good and I think Netflix is the best home for it. Btw what did you think of the school brawl?
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 Season 4 was awesome! Can't wait for Season 5.
This was basically Karate Kid doing a Revenge of the Sith, with Robbie as Anakin.
This fight scene was amazing for me. When I watched the original Karate Kid movie in my youth, I sometimes thought "Alright, Daniel is now trained enough to defeat Johnny. But what would a fight between Daniel and John Kreese look like? Daniel wouldn't stand a chance". I imagined it sometimes, you know, Daniel was the hero and he defeated his direct antagonist, but John Kreese was the even higher antagonist the hero could never really defeat. And decades later, they actually showed that fight, it's amazing!
As for season 4, I definitely need Daniel vs. Terry Silver, because that was also a thing I imagined when watching Karate Kid III.
I was 5 when the first one came out, and to see how much effort they put into Cobra Kai, and build on the already existent characters while adding cool new interesting Characters. Also, I am glad they kept the campiness in it. I highly recommend Cobra Kai. Such a great show.
Can we accept the fact that Martin Kove looks great for his age ?
loved the reaction so much man its the guy from instagram who kept suggesting you react to the fight scene lol, thx so much for watching and highly expecting alot more cobra kai fight scenes reactions in future moments and ill definitely send you some more scenes to understand a bit more of all the events that lead to this scene and etc, but appreciate it so much mate, your the man always!!!!!
The kids have some awesome fights
@@akmil02 especially hawk and miguel
The emotion of the fight and everything leading up to it made up for the potential short comings due to the actors being older.
I mean, Zabka is still moving pretty well, but you can tell the others are slowed by age. Strange, considering Zabka is 55 and Macchio is 59, not much older. But the dude has clearly not been really taking care of himself. And Kove is 75. Makes sense he's slowing down.
@@TimedRevolver it's pretty good for someone of that age to be involved in these sorts of action scenes regardless.
@@TimedRevolver From what I can remember Zabka has been training for years compared to Macchio who hasn't been fighting since his Karate Kid days.
@@SantosAl yeah, Zabka was an athlete as a kid and from what I understand when he landed the gig in the original movie he took a liking to karate and kept training... what's going to be interesting is seeing Terry Silver in season 4 dude that plays him has trained in the martial arts and is actually a couple months younger than Ralph Macchio
What shortcomings? "These guys are a little slow." They should be. It's an old homeless man and a middle aged drunk. The shortcoming would be them fighting like MMA stars.
I love the music in the background
I love how this show manages to be both hype and cringe at the same time. It just has such a charm to it.
Yeah, they're slow. It's something I noticed in the original films too, but now it seems to be happening even with simpler movements. The use of elbows isn't stepping outside of Karate though. Elbow strikes have always been a feature of Karate - there's just not as much emphasis as there might be in Muay Thai or FMA, for example.
I do remember being able to throw elbows back when I did shotokan and kyokushin, just not something we ever did a whole lot of in those days. I understand these guys are not martial arts actors on the level of Donnie Yen or Scott Adkins so you gotta give them credit for putting on a good show with the skills they have
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 Love the reaction and all, but please, in preparation for season 4, please watch the entire series, the fights have much more meaning and you'll have a better understanding, which will then in turn allow you to analyze each fight according to what the story presents to you b4 and after each scene. 💯😊
Take a look at the house fight scene too, that one is also awesome
@Jay Ryan lol no. it was a brillaint fight with great moves
@Jay Ryan so doing martial arts is the only way of knowing if a fight in a movie is good because last time I checked that wasn't really necessary
@Jay Ryan I've done martial arts for 15 years and I think that house fight was dope as hell.
Just because you don't like it personally doesn't mean you speak for all karateka.
@Jay Ryan Yeah, Tory vs Sam was the weak point, I'll grant you that.
But the fight scene did it's job. It looked cool and it escalated character development for crucial characters like Miguel and Hawk.
And for the record, idk what martial artists your talking to, but all the martial artists I've talked to l enjoyed it. Just saying, your echo chamber doesn't represent all martial artists. Not saying mine does either, but you gotta acknowledge that.
Love how he still removed his shoes after he entered the dojo even tho he’s an enemy he still respect tradition
You should watch the show, seeing this in context is much more interesting. It's definitely campy, but the story is actually great, and I'm sure you'd enjoy it.
It goes to show that the emotional weight in the acting and the story behind the fight can sometimes carry an action scene if the choreography and visuals themselves can't.
You should watch the show. while your analysis of the fight works, you are messing up on the story. The kid in the White Belt is more than just a student, it is Johnny's son. He is with Kreese because he believes both Johnny and Daniel betrayed him (in different ways), so all he had left was Kreese, who seemed to come through for him.
You need to watch it bro. Its hilarious . insane , happy and sad all at the same time
I love the fact that Johnny defeated a fresh Kreese, but Daniel could only defeat an already beat up Kreese. Johnny is always the better fighter!
Johnny was and always will be the original karate kid in my eyes!
Your comment makes no sense to me.
@@garyclarke9685 How? Johhny was handling Kreese pretty well until his son distracted him. Daniel was on the back foot most of his fight.
Agree
I want Johnny to learn all of Daniels move
That choke move was a, "Ranger Choke". It was developed by the Rangers in WW2. Its still taught to special forces which Krese was.
Best fight scenes? Nope. Whole lot of campy fun? Hell ya. Love this show.
Robby was so Anakin Skywalker stopping his dad from beating the shit out of Krease lol
Love this show if you havent seen it and are a karate kid fan please watch it.
Strike first, strike hard, no mercy.
Cobra kai never dies!
Started watching Cobra Kai when it was a UA-cam production and was stunned at how good it was.... Netflix made a smart business move picking it up and continuing it. One of the best shows in recent years IMO.
DOJO WARS ARE BACK !!!
hahahaahahah fking love the over the top setting in modern days, so true that the west was doing this stuff with peeps like Count Dante and other dojo war figures back in the 80s mags advertisement times hahaahahaha.
Martin Kove finally has a chance to show his fighting ability in this show versus the films
I love how he’s giving reasons for why the characters are doing things, and hasn’t seen the series. 😂😂😂😂
Here is a question for a better trained fighting eye. Reddit has had talk of whether or not Daniel mightve been about to kill Kreese. Maybe in the heat of the moment.
I mean the man did just try and stab him with a piece of broken glass so measurable self defense is certainly a factor.
Is there anything that can be discerned from that stance Daniel took right before he was about to strike?
To me it reminded me of any videos I've seen of an practioner taking a similar stance to break bricks or boards.
This stance reminded me of watching someone break a board being held vs striking downward.
I doubt there is a way to know for sure but had that been the case I would assume a queued up attack like that with his Adam's apple totally exposed I imagine a strike powerful enough to break a wooden board would likely kill Kreese.
Ironically all Daniel had to do was call the cops, since he had home invasion and destruction of property. Also that's all Johnny had to do too since he's Robbie's legal guardian not Kreese.
You should do the school hallway scene from Grosse Pointe Blank. Benny the Jet and John Cusak. John had been training with Benny since Say Anything.
That's his son and Johnny was at a party drinking all night
Hey max I love your reactions vids. How do I make a recommendation for a fight scene?
Just comment it on here mate I'll add it to the list
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 Oh can you do a review of Ryoo Seung-wan's City of Violence?
1:49 That line by itself would have be joining up immediately. I would be like .. Yeah .. I'm in. When do we get started?
In fairness these three guys range in age William Zabo is 57 Ralph Marchanio is 60 and Cove is nearly 70!!!!
This show does a fantastic job in making the fight scenes tell a story. Yeah they're not going to be Donnie yen/Jackie Chan level, but that's not what the scenes are there for, they show who the character is through how they fight, and especially with the kids, showing their path as either miyagi do or cobra Kai. This show, while not the best fight scenes technically, use fight scenes the way they're supposed to be used, you're using it to help tell the story in ways you can't by having the characters talk
I also thought it was slow but it was still good, especially with all the memory and story they have been through.
Zabka was a green belt in Tang Soo Do. He has some actual chops in IRL.
1984 dude. I went and saw the original as a 9yr old.
Never seen a tournament without safety pads
Karate kid came out in 1984. The same year my brother was born.
The martial arts in Cobra Kai is actually Tang So Doo. Which John Creese learned.
I had so many questions… Legally speaking
Would both their Dojo be shut down in both of them in jail
I guess not if no one calls the police or presses charges.
not if the police aren't involved
I wouldn't wager on that.
It's amazing and you have to do it.
Dude just take weekend. The show is so good your almost made to binge watch. We get Terry Silva in Season4.Yup Mister Pony tail himself. Have to wait till december for that though.

What brought the scene down was the obvious use of a stuntman for the fighting, it's a series following an old 80s movie but with 80s style fake wigs with the wrong colour and use of a much younger stuntman playing an old guy, the wig looked almost T J Hooker style.
Sensei Kreese was about to receive the mystical and forbidden honk
Would love to see you react to The Perfect Weapon and Black Belt Jones.
If you liked the original film trilogy, you MUST see Cobra Kai if and when you have the time to really enjoy it.
Is that a Bardock figure in the background? Looks awesome!
You know it haha!

@@HolyknightVader999 I'm not that far into the show! I just finished season 1 and haven't started the second season yet haha! I'm so slow when it comes to watching shows
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 Cool. You're in for a fun time!
Twice in this fight someone is like "Well I don't want to murder someone in front of my kid."
Good action, great drama, a little camp but it's meant to cater towards the 30+ via nostalgia.
Johnny's actor actually has a second-degree green belt (half way to a black belt) in the Korean martial art Tang Soo Do which is why he looks more natural than Kreese or Daniel while fighting.
Both the actors who played Barnes and Silver have done martial arts as well.
I think zabka actually has a green belt or something in real life: I mean he’s not a karate master or anything, but I’m sure it helps with his acting, and choreographing fights.
one thing that bugged me about this show is how they don't even get the police involved. there was literally break and enters and fights, and all they do is "we need to train harder" lol
piggs
Do the reaction of cobra Kai house fight scene in season 3
I get that Jonny's idea of defense is more offense but seriously he needs to put a guard up.
what do you mean put a guard up lmao, johnny’s offense is elite and also he beat kreese, kreese just came after johnny was checking up on robby
Look forward to u seeing Chosen show Daniel a the dark side to Miagi karate.
in karate there is everything
Does that numbing to arms/legs move that Chozen tought Daniel actually work? Tried it on myself, lol can't do it right i guess unless i need to do it on someone.
I learned a brachial strike during the self defense phase of the police academy I attended. It's basically the strike to the bicep Chozen taught Daniel. It doesn't paralyze your arm, but it does hurt like hell and makes it difficult to use for a bit. It's like hitting your funny bone.
Robbie is Johnny’s Son that’s why he was being weak towards him he was trying to get him away from Kreese
To be fair.. the average real Sensei in a U.S. dojo is going to be slow compared to Donny Yen and Bruce Lee.
Everything in this show revolves around the All Valley Karate Tournament. But in what world is there a full-contact karate tournament for minors, especially without any protective gear whatsoever? That thing would never get insured and would have been sued out of existence long ago!
The story lines and character development are great though. Some of the young people show some real skills as well.
You MUST watch it bro, for the best vibe I would recommend watching karate kid again.
Dude this is like obi wan vs Darth Vader
Bruce Lee is around 30 in his movies, Martin Kove is 75, Billy Zabka is 55. How fast do you expect them to be?
And Kreese didn't even use his ultimate technique: jumping out from behind a cardboard cutout of himself.
The dialogue is important in the beginning. If you must talk, pause the video.
We said is he Thanos at the same time so I subscribed
Haha! Great minds think alike!
1984 the Karate Kid came out
The Last Dragon with Bruce Leroy. Have u reacted to it.
I want to know more about how do you feel about the way Johnny/Kreese treats his students in the beginning of the show and the way Daniel treats his students.
Honestly I am only 1 or 2 episodes into the second season. I couldn't stand how Johnny treated his students, it was basically abuse at some points. I liked the way Daniel treated his students, but hated how he treated Johnny, like he could never change.
As I said I'm not far into the second season but from what happened at the end of season 1 I was hoping that Johnny would change his attitude a bit but then Kreese showed up...
Just waiting to see how that pans out for them
Interesting how the show almost completely forgot that Daniel has a son too.
Pretty sure in real life this is just two guys committing felony assault on an old man...
Some people think this style is tang soo doe ,I tend to like hapkido though I haven't trained much of it but they incorporate some throws and wristlocks and jujitsu stuff in the mix and I love judo juijitsu stuff anyway what ever this style is Iike the sweeps and at times they also use what ever is in the room like the fight in the lunch room when Miguel used the plate and table and the chair to his advantage anyway good stuff keep it up .Kobra kia !
8:25 good rule, if it's an iconic film but really shouldn't be it probably came out in 84-86. Those three years were the high watermark for western civilization.
I was not interested in watching it because I thought it was going to be a let down but it's so good. Please give a chance, If you loved the old movies you will love the show.
Just started watching it, I'm almost done season one and am loving it haha it's so good!!
You should react to Jet Li Gong Shou Dao with a bunch of kung fu legends vs Jack Ma lol
Daniel was about to give Kreese the dragon fist
Do the crane…Do the crane!
There’s no defence against a guy standing motionless on one leg….except I guess pulling ip a chair and opening your tabloid😂
You didn’t seriously say kick the leg as a variation to the dreaded no defense move “sweep the leg” move that has been banned in all countries 😮
My kids told me about this show. When my daughter asked me if I have seen Cobra Kai I about spit out my drink. I told her Cobra Kai's are ass holes lol. Then I watched season 1 with her, and got hooked! IT IS just like the old movie's, minus the boba nonsense.

Can you react to the house fight?
I see why Robbie chose to stay with kreese I mean being left as a child by your father not really having your mom around and seeing your dad treat your ex girlfriends boyfriend more like a son Johnny had it coming and then Daniel being his instructor at first judging him so quickly comparing him to johnny pushing him away instead of letting him explain himself and the influence he had in friends Robbie finally had a breaking point and kreese took that opportunity to get under Daniel and Johnny skin

I love the show, I only wish Daniel San would do a bit of fighting/stunt training for the show, but it’s not what the show is about
