It makes sense that he would do some flashy punch while Daniel goes for a relatively safe crescent(?) kick while also trying to evade. The fun of their dynamic is that they oppose each other and drive each other to do better.
Haha. Thank you for that sensei Seth. I just started the video and realized I wasn't subscribed then that little disclaimer happened that you explained it's your second channel.
That kick that Daniel did to Johnny when Johnny did the backfist and they knocked each other out at the same time when they were fighting, that kick Daniel did, I’ve only seen ITF Taekwondo practitioners do it, I think they call it twist kick, I’m sure others do it, I’m not an expert and haven’t seen all martial arts practices but so far I’ve only seen it in ITF, maybe Kungfu
It is indeed a move we do, Pitura Chaggi I think? Twisting kick. Now in most of our Tuls or practise we train it as a low kick or middle kick i.e. target the knee of inner thigh or the midsection. It is also trained high section but not as often
did you see UFC's Chris Barnett have an adverse reaction in the middle of the 1st round, while the org's doctor and commentators ignored the fact half his face was suddenly dead, and kept the fight going!? SMH --- Is still alive (a couple of weeks later)?
I'd really like to see the choreographer encourage advancing/retreating footwork with all the punch/parry stuff, it would give it just that extra pinch if dynamism and some realism (you can say they got out of range, rather than they just stayed out of range) without needing to be that much more complicated
The part with the pressure point shutting down a limb, I've never seen anything like that except in the UFC (Chito Vera vs Sean O'Malley, Mighty Mouse vs Henry Cejudo, Anthony Smith vs Jimmy Crute) where they will calf kick their opponent that hits a specific nerve. I think its the peroneal nerve?
My Sensei, Matsuda Shinji helped give advice on the first season of Cobra Kai. I also believe he is one of the referees in one of the episode. Great man, amazing Sensei.
Love the reactions to cobra Kai fight scenes, huge fan of your channel and the show. You should react to season 5 that just dropped, a lot of great fight scenes.
The way to pull off a flying scissors in sparring is to put your left hand on their shoulder and push down while you jump into the scissors. Aim for their waist not their knees when you scissor.
I love everything about it the old-fashioned story good versus evil no gray area and is it just me Sensei Seth or does Daniel and Johnny remind me and maybe reminds you of Ken and Ryu from Street fighter you know one is dark hair one is blonde they're both equally skilled one is kind of a party animal the other one likes everything straight and narrow very similar
And see how Johnny basically was doing similar jobs as Miyagi I think they should have a spin-off of this show where Johnny becomes a new Miyagi because I think he's got what it takes to be the new Miyagi cuz maybe Mr Miyagi was a Johnny Lawrence when he was younger
Sensei Seth can you do a video where you break down the fight scenes in The Raid, The Raid 2 or The Night Comes for Us? Those movies have some of the sickest choreography and very high skilled actors and stunt doubles
The leg stop is referred to as "Checking" at least in Kung Fu, and if you get it right and their weight is moving forward you can get the person to plant on their face.
Sensei Seth so you don't get copyrighted you should re enact the fight scenes, playing all the characters at once! that'd also show them you could replace any of their actors if the need arised 🤣
I do not like how you predicted that I was going to scroll down and notice the channel and hit the subscribe button almost hte same time as you did in the video, Sensei. Chill on the ESP. :)
Expanding on why you don’t really get hurt in the air. When you’re in the air you aren’t able to increase force. You can’t push off of anything. So when you’re launching of the ground there’s a large force then you’re actually decelerating in the air then lending you have impact. So whatever you’re doing in the air is a result of grater forces you exerted on the ground.
the funny thing about the finals fight of season 4 is that jacob bertrand and tanner buchanan (the actors for hawk and robby) acually had a bit of competition between themselves as they were the best at martial arts between the actors. and I forget if it was in the filmings of season 2 or 3 where they had a sparring match to determine "who is the best" between them too. but I dont think they ever said who actually won. so this season 4 fight seemed like a nod to the actors own "rivalry"
When I started Muay Thai I was told you have to learn the rules like a pro so you can break them like an artist. That's why a seasoned martial artist can do things like keep their hands low some of the time.

did you see UFC's Chris Barnett have an adverse reaction in the middle of the 1st round, while the org's doctor and commentators ignored the fact half his face was suddenly dead, and kept the fight going!? SMH --- Is still alive (a couple of weeks later)?
I'd really like to see the choreographer encourage advancing/retreating footwork with all the punch/parry stuff, it would give it just that extra pinch if dynamism and some realism (you can say they got out of range, rather than they just stayed out of range) without needing to be that much more complicated
great content man, never watched anything like this before but you got me immediately hooked
You’re right. I didn’t know you had a second channel and yes I will subscribe
That jumping scissor throw from Daniel, is a judo technique and is banned in competition because it wrecks uke's knees.
Started watching this video and I had to stop to go rewatch Cobra Kai...
You are the only thing that's made me actually want to watch the show. They really need you on Season V.
My Sensei, Matsuda Shinji helped give advice on the first season of Cobra Kai. I also believe he is one of the referees in one of the episode. Great man, amazing Sensei.
Cobra Kai is so good at setting up suspense in those tournament episodes
Subscribed purely for the Casey Jones clip. 10/10
terry looks Fing terrifying when fighting with that smile
I love how your editor is going all out, really on point, editor!
I caught a phoenix eye fist to the armpit one time and it perfectly hit a nerve, that shit gave me pins and needles down the whole arm.
I just get strong McDojo vibes from their choreography
Your editor is amazing
Don't forget Season 5, Sensei. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
They should’ve got Seth on the show as one of the senseis silver hires in season 5
I just love the idea of a white belt dojo storming a dojo full of white belts and winning against all of them at once
Been waiting for this video!!
OMG I didn't know there was a second channel, lol.
“You’re gonna hit subscribe”
Me: You’re god damn right
15:25 Another application is using the lead hand to strip an arm down, opening them up for your straight/overhand.
Underrated channel
Season 5 fight scenes are the best yet!
I kinda like season 1 and 2 more realistic
the funny thing about the finals fight of season 4 is that jacob bertrand and tanner buchanan (the actors for hawk and robby) acually had a bit of competition between themselves as they were the best at martial arts between the actors. and I forget if it was in the filmings of season 2 or 3 where they had a sparring match to determine "who is the best" between them too. but I dont think they ever said who actually won. so this season 4 fight seemed like a nod to the actors own "rivalry"
About the takedowns. Have you reviewed the lost throws of Karate from Funakoshi? Would make a very interesting Video
Yes most of the main characters are adults in real life it's always been that way with people playing teens in high school.
I needed this
When I started Muay Thai I was told you have to learn the rules like a pro so you can break them like an artist. That's why a seasoned martial artist can do things like keep their hands low some of the time.
