The last fighter is Matt Mullins. He's a kickboxing champion, has a 4th degree black belt in karate, and a purple belt in gureishī jūjutsu.
Fun fact; if you look on UA-cam for the small Mortal Kombat series you'll see MJW as Jax, Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade and Matt Mullins as Johnny Cage.
@@AdamRK78 Yep it was called legacies.
He is also in Agents of shield season 1 plays a super shoulder👍
5 time world champion too. Let’s be honest though. In the real world it doesn’t mean shit. Bruce Lee wasn’t even *officially* an advanced wing chun student or in karate terms a “black belt” but made black belts look like amateurs.
If anything he proves having a black belt or being a “world champion” doesn’t mean anything when it comes to the real thing.
Also he has been around before Scott Adkins
Crazy how he’s doing all those kicks with them heavy timbs on.
Michael Jai White is easily one of the goats.
Very possible. I learned to throw kicks while wearing army boots because my sifu want us to learn to strike in the clothes we would normally be wearing.
@@sgnguy2027 same as savate practitioners.

"Tastes like a Timberland boot bitch!"
Still one of my favorite random lines in any movie.
🤣🤣🤣
😂 He’ll always be Rufio lol
In that fight you here guy in background “That mothafucka bone is the truth!!!!” 😹
@@williamallen7984 i said the same thing lol
@@drumlion2005 All I hear is Ru-fi-ooooooo but then I remember that Rufio is also Prince Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender show haha
I loved Blood and Bone and in my opinion Michael Jai White gave one of his best performances on screen.
Aku suka itu pertarungan
I don't know what style Michael Jai White uses, but something I have always appreciated in any of his fight scenes is that he always maintains a strong base. Before he launches any attack, he has a solid base. Just watch how he stands as he's waiting for an enemy attack. He cannot be moved.
He has 7 or 8 different black belts but started with karate and TKD. He switches up his styles in this movie which is fun
It's unbelievable,
that the man with so much muscles can move so smoothly!
Yours be surprised. People tend to associate size and muscle with slowness and lack of flexibility, but that's not always the case.
Mobility and flexibility I even think he does a split in the movie
MJW has been at this since his early teens
@@M1ManOwaR That only applies if the person with size and muscle doesn't train for speed much at all. It just takes training in all areas.
mjw started fighting when he was I think 5-6 I read so its not all fake he can actually fuck someone up I personally think he would fuck up the people in the heavy weight division of the ufc but who knows
The guy that tossed the sword to Michael Jai White , that’s actually Bob Wall, he played O’Hara in Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee and he was also in Return of the Dragon.
I thought that was a cool tribute to Bob Wall and Bruce Lee that they threw in there, because O'Hara was Bob Walls name in Return Of The Dragon.
WOW thats Awesome didnt know this !!
I thought that was him cuz when the old man called his name he sounded just like mr han from enter the dragon
@@nobodyimportant69 it was enter the dragon return of the dragon was the one shot in Italy
HOW DID I MISS THAT????!!!! THANK YOU for pointing that out!
The white guy was declared the winner because Michael double-tapped (after obviously winning the fight). It's important for the storyline.
he didnt win
@@frann507
Michael tapped on purpose so the guy he hated will lose all his money on a bet ! In other words he took a dive on purpose !
What sucks is you have to basically see most of the movie you definitely can't do it through this review of the fights the understand what happened with the last guy even if you seen the double tap awesome movie though I must have stared at this DVD several times I'd say for several months until a co-worker said did you see this movie Blood and Bone then right after that the movie went super viral
WIL S is correct, he tapped out so the guy he hates would lose money
ua-cam.com/video/6OuD93Hs5OY/v-deo.html
This movie was very underrated. I watched this so many times. Its one of my favorite Micheal Jai White movies. Its impressive how fast he moves with his size. Dope commentary.👊🏽
That bathroom scene where he sweeps the guy then hammer fits his chest on the way down, MJW said it was paying homage to Billy Blanks who did the same thing to him years ago when the were sparing.
They didn't show it in this as it's not the fight themselves per se, but one thing I love about this is that it puts you in his mind, as a fighter in a few earlier fights. He will watch a fighter he's going up against in the next match and it'll show how he notices their weaknesses and then use it against them. For example he noticed one guy ALWAYS throws the right leg to the body if the guy leaves his ribs open.. so he intentionally leaves his side unguarded to provoke him into the leg.. then knowing it's coming he grabs it and ends the fight with a devastating move. Same thing with another guy noticing he drops his guard afer his cross.. so he provokes it then knows he'll be wide open and lays him out.. great story telling.
Michael doing all of those moves in timbs is insane and impressive
Excellent flick.Jai White at his best and a cast of Real Martial artist and/or fighters in this film. Nearly everyone fighting was a real martial artist. Underrated classic.
The end fight has to do with the story. The guy that warned him was his cell mate. He was killed and MJW promised to look after his wife and son. His wife forced to be James’s (the villain who had his hand cut off) woman to save her son who was in foster care and was hooked on drugs. James also was responsible for framing MJW’s friend and got him put in jail. Overall a really good movie, well worth time to watch.
I've done martial arts for 10 years, and let me tell you, there is no bigger blow to your pride than to be dropped on your back like in 9:09. That's happened to me many times whenever I sparred my sensei, and I could never figure out how to counter it.
I can only imagine, my dude. I’m not a martial artist but I can totally understand some of the mechanics involved in it. Remember, it could always be worse.
How it happens is when you kick you open yourself up to being dropped, so the easiest way to not get dropped on your back is to use your kicks wisely, because if the guy is good he will take the opportunity to get you while you're weak.
😂😂😂
My older brother would get me with that every time.. So I can relate.
You get a lil bit dizzy also when you get dropped on your head even if it's not a hard floor 😂
last double fight was really greatly choreographed and executed. smart moves, faints, options, that was so cool.
"3 on 1, how's that fair?"
It wasn't, for the 3.
For those wondering, when Bone puts Price (Matt Mullins) in the knee bar in the final fight, Bone taps out instead...thus losing the fight for those he was forced to fight for.
Max: "Only thing with Bob Sapp is he's got no neck; so you can't knock him out."
Michael Jai White's character: "Hold my Timberlands."
Lmaco
Lol
fun fact: the asian guy in MJW's corner for the bare knuckle fighting scenes is Rufio from Hook.
Yup aging super slow
He also played Zuko from Avatar the last airbender
The guy in the other corner is Weevil from "Veronica Mars".
Which everyone knows is a show that the coolest people watched, and no one's judging me for knowing this.
get the fuck outa here... i didn't realize that...
@@nathancarabajal8271 also jake long from American dragon
This is one of my favorite movies. Not just for the action, but the storyline is good!
Yeah, you _REALLY_ need to watch this movie. There is a ton of serious fighting in it, and the storyline is every bit as good as the wrap-up, of which we only saw a tiny tiny bit.
I highly recommend the TV series "Warrior". It's based on Bruce Lee's writing, and featuring Andrew Koji and Joe Taslim, the fight sequence is just mind-blowing.
I love that series. I hope they do more seasons
@@MichaelBuieFilms Season 3 already announced bro :))
@@phammanh2689 Yay!
Awesome movie! Awesome historical references! Awesome action. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next season.
i know this is an older comment, but i was binging this channel's videos and i thought he should ABSOLUTELY react to the fights in that show. great to see someone else thought the same.
Honestly, i don't really actively follow any "reaction" channels, but your videos are awesome. Love the fact that you don't stop every 30 seconds to give a 5 minute explanation about the origin of the technique, just genuine tiny explanations to understand what the technique was and if it was well performed.
Good work, hope you keep it going, my dude.
I Love how Matt Mullins kicks are so clean
The guy who plays O'Hara, the one who threw Bone the sword in the final fight scene, is the same guy, Bob Wall, who played O'Hara in "Enter the Dragon". I little nod to Bruce Lee. A lot of people miss that little Easter egg
Same character name also lol
I love when MJW feints a hook kick while he is fighting Bob Sapp. My brother and I have tried that for shits and giggles and the speed and dexterity you need to even perform that kick midair is absurd.
12:03 That's Julian Sands, He was a staple of a lot of mid-budget movies in the 80's & 90's such as, "Warlock" and "The Tomorrow Man". I swear he's a vampire. He's remarkably well preserved in this film. Bear in mind this movie was made in 2009 and Sands was born in 1958. As for MJW, the guy is obviously juiced to the gills for a lot of his movies, but it still impresses me how agile he is for a man carrying serious muscular weight. He looks about 230+ lbs here and is obviously cut, but he throws kicks around like he's 5 stone lighter.
PROVE HES JUICED!!!
I remember Bob Sapp when he played for the Chicago Bears. He was just as big then. Moving slow and getting his ass kicked is how I recall him from most of his MMA fights too. The seated white guy is Julian Sands.
Bob Sapp was dominant early on in his MMA career. Then, as he got older his popularity waned and he decided he wasn't getting paid enough money to take any kind of damage. So you have a bunch of fights where Sapp took for the money and would quit whenever he got hit.
He was declared winner because Bone looked at James and decided he didn't want to win to give James the satisfaction. He clearly would've won vs Price.
He tapped the mat when he had his opponent in the lock.
Him losing also stole millions from James. So, he beat price to prove a point, then made James broke so he had no help in prison.
@@mrjemenai yes, indeed. Forgot to mention that, thank you for that.
Mannnn, this was one of my favorite movies!! 😂😂😂😂
Bone had no intention of giving James the win. He planned that from the beginning.
Have you heard about Brad Allen passing away recently.
It shocked me at 48.
Rest in peace 🙏
Condolences to his friends and family.
Such an talented guy.
He made a post about it, I think.
That shit hurt me right there
He died of a heart attack. Since he was an Aussie it was likely from the vax.
@@billywashere6965 I heard it was COVID-19
@@TheMightsparrow COVID doesn't give you myocarditis.
"Three on one? How is that fair?!" You're right. They definitely should have brought more guys to make it fair. ;>
Sapp is a super cool guy with a remarkable dog... so proud of Molly, she had fun with a Big Boy
Simba was so cool, loved the stories that day in the dog park
Bit of trivia. They guy the threw MJW the sword's character name was O'Hara. He is played by Bob Wall who played O'Hara in Enter the Dragon.
One of my favorite fights is that last one. My God that leg spin and then the double spin round house kick. 😘😘
Are we not going to recognize the fact that MJW's finishing move to cut that guy's hands-off is the exact same technique/move Anakin Skywalker used to beat Count Dooku?
Max: "He should have just cut him from there."
Me, having said the same thing every time I watch this scene: "THANK YOUUUUU!!!!!!"
I said the same thing. "Bye bye legs"
To be fair, the dude was already ticked. He snapped way before that scene and was not thinking
9:38 I always wondered if Bob Wall was acting, or if it was a genuine reaction to the double spin kick...
Soaking his shirt, so it stuck to the dude's face, was absolutely genius.
I gotta watch this movie.
Cool seeing Bob Wall as a judge.
12:01 That was Julian Sands. He was the British guy that played in the movie Warlock! I think he played a character in the TV show "Person of Interest." As an MI6 character.
When you get the time, PLEASE do the movie "Drive" with Mark Dacascos. Epic fight scenes in that movie. Love it when you break down videos like this. Just make sure you do the end fight scene if you pick one from the move. Great videos, my guy
Drive is also a great movie.
Yes drive one of my all time favorites
Michael Jai White's audio commentary on this movie is hilarious.
The perfect weapon, has some awesome fight sequences
Give credit also to the stunt dudes-them falls can seriously hurt if you don’t know how to land safely!
*(**10:44**)* I was hoping you'd notice. The guy he yelled O'Hara to was the same O'Hara from Bruce Lee's Enter The Dragon. It was a silent tribute.
The rich white guy who looked familiar was Julian Sands RIP who recently was found dead in a hiking accident. He'd been in a lot of movies and TV shows, 'Warlock' was one of my faves.
The real test of will power is the guard walking in the background not just getting transfixed by the wicked fight happening in front of him.
The white guy at the end who looks 'familiar' is English actor Julian Sands. The scene also has Bruce Lee legend Bob Wall... the chap who throws MJW the sword.
This was a great movie that was a sleeper because it went straight to video. My manager stole my first copy, so I got another one.
There was a BTS video if Michael Jai White talking with Kimbo about the straight punch, was pretty cool to see.
"cutting the legs is ust as effective as cutting anywhere else" hence the primary function of shields, to protect the thighs from attack. leg armor improved many years after everything else so youre spot on
The guy he said "I'll see you later" is Julian Sands, you may remember him from the movie "Warlock"
When you're too confident you're less focused, less focus will more often than not lead to failure
Given his size he moves ridiculously quick
What you missed was MJW's character tapped out to forfeit the match. He ended up costing the next opponent a $5 million bet.
I love watching Michael Jai White. The man is hot as hell and a beautiful fighter.
I’m a correctional officer and I’ve seen fights get much brutal than this. I’ve also seen a guy beat up six guys simultaneously. I have dealt with inmates that are 7 foot tall and 370 pounds of muscle. Fights I’ve seen or have been in have all been gotten dirty and bloody.
Your reaction to the hand being cut off is priceless 🤣 👌 😂 😄
Michael Jai White had the guy in the tie beat in the knee bar, but tapped because the last fighter was blackmailing him to fight and he refused to win for him. Hence the guy getting ticked off and drawing the sword etc.
@ 12:48, you called that a what Bruce Lee? Remember, Bruce Lee cross pollinated with traditional TKD (Ohdokwan-Chungdokwan) in his relationship with the late Grandmaster Jhoon Rhee, Father of American Taekwon Do. In our style, that is called a back, cross step side kick. Our kicks are named for the footwork that crosses the distance to the chamber, execution, and retraction of the kick. There are several to choose including but not limited to the stop side, stomp side, and step to side kicks... Moving on...
The martial arts remake of Hard Times, and its absolutely brilliant! I dont think that MJW has ever been better imho.
There was a video floating about on youtube of White teaching Slice some stuff. I believe it was from this movie's set too.
Solid fights and another fun fact. The actor along side Michael Jai White is Dante Bacto who you may remember from Hook as Rufeo. The made looked like he had a blast hyping Michael.
The guy you said looks familiar is the actor who played in those 1990s Warlock movies and a few other stuff.
love this movie and the fact hes fighting these guys in timberland boots too
I found it hilarious that the guy in the suit just got clapped when he took off his jacket
I've been a practitioner of marital arts for 22 years now I'm 33 and I subscribed to your channel because of your comment of feeling inadequate compared with Michael Jai White being a skinny white guy🤣🤣🤣a lot of respect to you💯
I haven't seen these myself so it was fun watching them with you.
And it looks so effortless.
Was enjoying the reaction and then a surprise Dante Basco showed up?! LMAO. Didn’t know Zuko would be there
Glad you reviewed this !!!
Fun fact, the guy at 3:09 played the Young Calogero in the movie "A Bronx Tale"
I dont know if you noticed Burridge.. but that asian dude backing Michael jai White is Dante Basco who is well known as Zuko from Avatar
But did you notice at the end when the British guy said O'Hara... And O'Hara is Bob Wall.. kind of a cameo appearance circa enter the dragon.
I didn't notice that! What a cool tie-in!
Lol, he was starting to say “ being that big.. omg it’s bob sapp”
he is fun to watch. the ending scene is the best. the whole movie is good.
6:06-6:07 I'm glad you mentioned Bob Sapp,he was in Elektra as one of Hands, and a body guard in the movie Faster with Dwayne Johnson(that is massive as hell) but as Samoan he's big, fast and strong and that's scary.
Michael Jai White is a great example of “built different.”
"Groin kick the single best defensive move" Every MMA fighter I've heard talk about it says that kicking someone in the nuts is probably the dumbest thing to do in self defence. 90% of the time it doesn't work and all you're doing is making someone that wanted to just knock you out now wanting to break your neck because you kicked them in the balls.
You should do the first fight scene of Debt Collector or anything with more Scott Adkins. Love your reviews! Always not to hear someone who knows what they are talking about
Awesome
my first video of yours ive seen. i like this
This was one of my favourite movies growing up
I love that after the jacket got off it went down hill for him 😂
My man's said "SHYT!" 😆 🤣
10:24 Eamonn Walker, it's amazing how far this actor has progressed in his profession, I remember seeing him in an old UK sitcom in the 80s - 'In Sickness and in Health' playing Winston who was a gay guy renting a room in an old farts house who called him Marigold, he's now in Chicago Fire which my wife watches.
I remember watching this movie when i was a kid, def one of my favorite fighting movies
"Shanked him on the way down, god dammm!" 🤣🤣🤣 that was funny.
You have to see the entire movie.
Great
The fact that Mike did the fights in Timbs is always something to me lol. Them damn boots got heft to 'em.
The reason why the fighter in a suit won Is because M.J. White when had him in a knee bar tapped out, tossing the match away to put the man he was fighting After in troubles with all the people.
i love these comments man , just lore i had no idea about
I'm not into MMA's but I meet him in a small town didn't know who he was. He was in line and I cut in front of him not seeing him. I said my bad man didn't see you in line and he said no problem big man you got it. I laughed and said big man hell your twice my size he laughed. He never gave off the vibe I'm a tuff guy was just a normal dude I'd expect to run into. rip my guy was an honor to cut in front of you.
Dude I feel u on not liking to watch MJW, one issue I have with his movies is he always dominates and never has to overcome adversity
There's a fight montage in the middle of the movie where he fights several guys over several days. In the last fight he gets banged up and is put in a pretty deep choke hold that he struggles to get out of. He wins but actually comes home hurt and the sympathetic landlady patches him up.
It's the Steven seagal effect.
It's cool that the last fight scene was a nod to Enter the Dragon a couple ways. The whole fight scene was similar to Lee's fight with Ohara the scar faced guy that killed Lee's sister.
The guy who threw the sword to Michael the old guy called him Ohara and he was the actor who played Ohara in Enter the Dragon.
Good video , I enjoyed this
Great content 🥂sounds like you really know what you’re talking about and you’re funny 😂🔥
He tapped out on purpose to make the guy with the sword lose his $5 million bet.
last scene freaks me out every time - rough justice !
