Great video. I started watching just to verify what kind of batteries I needed to buy but watched the whole thing because of how detailed this guy was. Well done!
FYI working on electronics on carpet has left me with failed hard drives and totaled motherboards, better to watch out for static electricity and work at a table on hardwood or other solid surfaces ;-) thanks for the videos, cheers!
I think all of my UPS have bad batteries since they no longer actually function in a power outage at all. I've been thinking about doing this since I knew it simply means they all need new batteries and should be good as new. It looks a lot simpler than I thought it would be so I'm definitely going to be replacing all of them. Thanks.
So I inherited one of these and I’m setting up a recording studio. Do you know how clean these are on power? Or would it be best to plug a power conditioner into this unit?
Thanks. Very helpful. One problem: top of screen cuts off view of critical connections. Audio is fine but I can't tell what's going happening off camera.
I have a Back-UPS Battery Pack that has a hard-wired cable attached to the back of the Pro 1500 (main unit). I am replacing the two batteries in the main unit the way you are showing in the video. However, I am also replacing the backup unit. The battery in that unit is self-contained. The cable/wire is connected to the back of main unit. The cable/wire has a gray connector that goes into a port on the back. But how does one get the gray connector off without damaging the port? I don't care if the gray connector is damage because I have the new one as part of the hard-wired cable. But I do not want to damage the base "port." I almost looks like one of the old serial ports on a computer. But the gray connector does not have anything on it one can pinch to pull it off. Any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I can't get the battery cover to slide off. I think the batteries are swollen. Any ideas on how to get the cover off? APC support suggested buying a new UPS.
You can try tapping with a rubber mallet, but if the batteries have started to leak, you might want to get a new or used UPS, used ones on ebay are rather cheap, that's where I got the one in this video
How did you know this one needed changing? Was it because of the one bar showed by the battery? I saw one second hand Im thinking of buying, but its has that 1 bar indicator on.
I changed the battery pack as shown but the UPS shows the battery empty as if there was nothing installed. I checked the voltage before putting them in and showed the correct 24v. any suggestions ?
@@idleagent I did nothing. it looks like it takes awhile to the system to recognize the new battery set. then it started to work as ir should and it has been since over 11 months as of now Jan 2023.
Hello I have a question about the APC Back Ups Pro 900 UPS Can I use the APC Back Ups Pro 900 UPS just buy it without installing the software on the pc If I buy the APC Back Ups Pro 900 UPS, I have to connect it directly to the PC and install the software on the PC to use the APC Back Ups Pro 900 UPS to operate other devices such as I want to use the APC Back Ups Pro 900 Use UPS only for my internet router is it possible Or can I simply buy the APC Back Ups Pro 900 UPS without connecting it directly to the PC and operating my Internet router Thanks in advance
The software for PC is just to check the battery health, adjust sensitivity and Auto Shutdown function for PC. You can use it as a normal UPS without the software also.
1st there are 3 cables but 4 connections 2+, 2- so you're saying you plug the loose cable into the + positive on battery 1, run it thru the plate and plug it into battery 2 on the - negative side. I get the plate setup black to - and red to positive but. that loose cable has me wondering if I am going to blow up the whole setup. Also if you gonna shoot something like this again hire a pro to shoot for 30 mins and your done, in focus and you capture what your doing.
@@randall928 my apologies, I missed that. The link that brought me here was more general, something about "UPS repair." I'm looking for solutions to the F04 error. My UPS batteries are newly installed.
Best tutorial on doing this I've seen. Thank you for going to the trouble. I'm up and running with my new batteries!
Thank you for making this so simple. Other videos on this subject do not explain the wire connector very well. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

That sticker sheet on the sheet is useful to pull the batteries out when required.
Yeah but you need to remove it to replace the battery

We can change any brand batteries for replacement is there any process for other brand battery replacement
Nice video. It would have been nice if they sell that middle piece (bracket) that connects both batteries.
i need know that, a positive cable is conect to negative of the other battery, Right?
Yes. They are wired in series. You should get 24V on the connection pins to the UPS.

If they are allowed to fully charge you should see all bars, I actually bought mine on ebay without batteries.
@@randall928 Thank you, im gonna buy it.
Hello, is the UPC you are working on a 12V or 24V? (I thought it's 12V Series x2 =24V). Thanks!
Ack. I accidentally e-cycled that connector piece! Do you know if we can buy the connector separately? If so what is it called? Thanks!
Try contacting APC directly maybe they'll send you one

No idea, bought a few of these used for almost nothing

Useless. Battery replacement is the only suggestion.
The title is UPS Battery Replacement
