      Yeah that was hilarious to me because my Saab did that too. It fixed itself for one day and then the light was back on until summer. I think it just didn’t like the cold tbh.

    I have a 2003 2.0t saab 9-3 arc (identical to yours with 162k) and mine is having the same idle problem when warmed up, if you find the issue please post a video so I can follow it! Your videos have helped me fix and find multiple problems on my saab!

    I’m betting those speaker where ok. I got some like that u pull u pay in Indy and they still worked great. Now just need to find center dash speaker and driver side dash speaker and replace the aftermarket with oem speaker for back driver side door. Might end up putting an aftermarket stereo in with my own speaker wires run under the carpet going to front doors and add some 6x9’s in the back and a amp. I’ll leave the stock unit in the dash. But will be using an aftermarket with new speakers instead, by the time I’m done it’ll look neat and clean. Won’t be doing that until it warms back up.

    2nd; when you change parts and the cel goes off the past
    failure left in the ecu deletes itself after 4 full engine starts
    and 70 KM driving. Otherwise the cel comes back on.

    First day of having my license I got home and I started it again after I turned it off the start was rough and it didn't idle and stalled and the check engine light turned on. I started it again and gave it some gas and it worked fine and the engine light turned off a day later. Only check engine light so far

  • @MassiveTrackHunter
    @MassiveTrackHunter 2 роки тому

    Yep, they have a mind of their own.
    Have you done the chains yet? If you have not, 160k is the time to get concerned.
    When it was idling poorly, I could swear that rattling noise was balance chain slap.
    Those can let go, take out the timing chain and destroy the motor.
    My 05 Arc had a broken tensioner at 160k(always happens around 150k) and the chain was slapping like that, eating into the tensioner ram.
    Might be lucky it was iddling like that, or you would not have heard that slap.

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  2 роки тому

      interesting; no i have not done that yet. i hope its not due lol

    • @MassiveTrackHunter
      @MassiveTrackHunter 2 роки тому

      @@AutoAutopsy trust me, it is due. By 160, my balance chain was making that eratic thock thock noise at idle until it warmed up and subsided. Every single one will do this, around this mileage, or even earlier if the oil is excessively dirty and premature wear occurs.
      The chain slap increases because the tensioner must have broken 10k or so miles earlier, because the chain had to stretch from that point to be able to reach and start eating into the hydraulic tensioner ram like mine had. Unfortunately it is like clockwork due to GM's flimsy chain design on these. If the tensioner had been thicker, it would not snap. If the chain were thicker, it would not wear and stretch and cause the tensioner to deal with increased angle stress and snap off.
      That being said, these things could run forever, if you plan for chains and pump around every 150k. The compression on my 05 was above 210psi on all 4 cylinders at 208k miles which were heavy footed.
      215 is factory spec. That is amazing for a 4 cylinder high load engine! That is why GM stuffed 2.0T's in all kinds of cars after about 2005. Great workhorses.
      Totally worth doing the chains.

    • @industrycorporationenterprise
      @industrycorporationenterprise 2 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure what you mean by a hiss, when the turbo is sucking in air it'll make an induction sound (a hiss). Does it feel like you are making proper boost when driving?

    • @patchworkkid24
      @patchworkkid24 2 роки тому

      the hissing sound might be normal but if youre saying it feel like its misfiring only at full turbo then its probably the ignition coils. That happened to my saab and i was really confused.

    air suspension rusted after5 years and throughout bad engineering.
    Check on spare parts always for matching numbers > does look
    the same doesnt mean fits the same. Good luck with your hunt

      they're plastic welded on so it's a pain; i painted mine silver to match the other aero trim
