I do genuinely believe that Kyrie knew it was over when Rudolf died and tried in her own way of saving Ange by riling Eva up to kill her and take Ange in. To have such an evil character without a shade of gray isn’t the tone I got from this story.
Nay. You value grayness because it's mature and realistic. It's also realistic that there are sociopathic people that only care about their own benefit. Even if it looks cliché in this situation, it is nonetheless realistic.
From her speech to Eva, it likely was both true and untrue. The Eva here is not a murderer and is still somewhat a good woman by comparison, but within, she still had the capacity to carry out the massacre herself. Kyrie could have been driven mad by the murders considering how unhinged she was in carrying them out.
This reasoning is not mine. I saw this in a different video. For Kyrie we would need to apply her own logic. The chessboard thinking. At this point she knew her husband was dead and she might get killed too. At least in the VN she ponders for brief period of time and then starts talking to Eva. If we stand from Kyrie's perspective (turning the chessboard over) we know for a fact she does care about Ange but she just couldn't implore mercy on Eva to protect her, after all Rudolf killed George and they also killed Hideyoshi. So the best scenario for her in order to protect her daughter is to make Eva at least feel pity for Ange for the fact that her mom was so ruthless and hearthless. This is a win-win scenario for Kyrie because had she killed Eva she could protect Ange herself but had Eva killed Kyrie (which is what happened) Ange would be left alone. So these despicable words coming from her are just to make sure Eva feels pity and actually she does. That's why when Kyrie dies she had a grin on her face. Not because she was a psycho but because of the fact that she actually managed to accomplish her goal.
I think Rosa survived Kyrie’s gun was failing, the 4 people she shoot was Eva, Hideyoshi, Beatrice and Rosa, so probably at least 3 of them survived Eva and Beatrice’s state is clearly shown, Eva verified the Hideyoshi's death, but Rosa’s state isn’t described. I think she run away and found Maria’s corpse, so she run to the beach and swim and swim. Finally she lost her memory like Battler and arrived nijima

Spoilers for other parts of Umineko, but : Conversely, you could look at the events of episode 3 and come to the same conclusion that Eva and Hideyoshi are evil because they killed for the same reason. Or that Beatrice didn't plot a murder because of the fragment where she becomes Lion. While these characters are basically coherent between fragments, they are still different characters in a sense. I don't consider Kyrie of this Tea Party the same Kyrie of episode 1, or 8, for example. One last thing to also consider is that roles are selected and acted out via the gamemaster's wishes. You see this in previous episodes where Battler is less himself because Bern or Lambda are literally controlling his "piece".
