I love how Erika was very close to reach the truth, but was not able to connect the points. When her "double name theory" was denied in the adjacents rooms, she never thought again of the point "two names in one person", and yet, in Battler's room, try to confirm "every person in the room has their own body" and not "every person/body in the room has only one name". So close, so close.
This fight makes a lot more sense when you read episode 7. Episodes 5 and 6 feel a lot more enjoyable when you go back on them. Spoilers: I feel like Kanon stopped existing in the guest room. The personality of Kanon stopped existing and became the "other personality" . Since both of them are the same person physically, it is possible Kanon released Battler and the other personality is the one that remains after the duel between the siblings. At the very end depending on how you interpret it there are 18 people on the island if you count Erika, but there's also only 17 if you combine Kanon and the other personality as one person since they are both the same. Then if you also count out Erika then it could also be 16.
Yes. Also, Erika didn't check the other room over, just sealed both rooms, so she could go murder the first twilight victims. This allow the "magic" of Kanon having never been in that room in the first place. Also, because Erika's red check was for "everyone", she missed Kanon and Beatrice because they are not on the Board at that time, just Shannon. The "magic" of Beatrice's heart is the ability to alternate the personalities mid-game.
@@Fragmentsinfractals488 It's a pretty dirty trick that Beatrice has been using. It's not really shown too much in previous games until it's slightly hinted at in episode 4. So Erika is just hasty to find who the culprit is through human means. Like she's not wrong about her methods since the reader would normally skim over details about minor characters like Shanon and Kanon since they haven't been too significant till the later episodes.
@@toshio1334 It's actually all over Episode 2. It's made obvious that Kanon and Shannon are magical. Also, as an example, during the lead up in that episode, Shannon and Beatrice are having a tea party. Kanon is watching. After Beatrice leaves, Kanon states the fact that it is suspicious that only they can see Beatrice. (hint hint). Or how about the first obviously magic scene in Episode 1 involves Kanon. Or that Kanon and Shannon turn up in the first tea party despite not being the last survivors. Also Shannon and Kanon know Beatrice's Full backstory and Shannon apparently has her love life facilated by Beatrice. In Episode 3, Shannon gets revived and apparantly talks to George. Kanon get revived and talks to Jessica. This does not happen to any else in any game. Here is one more. When Kanon's corpse disappears in Episode 2, the: tips describe it this way: Quote: Missing The witch erased his corpse for fun.That alone caused an incredible uneasiness among the survivors. That which exists is of the human world but things that do not exist are but illusions. The illusions take the form of the things they fear. it almost suggests Kanon is an illusion, that exists when he exist,and does not when he does not. Erika knows any appearance of magic must be some kind of trick. However, she does not have love, like Bernkastel doesn't. So she think is just a trick, and not full blown personas with detailed backstories. Erika does not believe the white text, so she can not parse fantasy well.
