i love this duel a lot. not only is it refreshing for an mc to actually lose a duel, but this one really highlights Yuga's traits both positive and negative. Yuga leaves after being beaten, but he doesn't give up on helping Swirls like Tiger demanded, because as he says "you think just because i lost 1 game means im going to just do everything you say?" its a really rare thing for a character in ygo to just forego something that feels fundamental to the universe, but it isn't a moment of strength for the character. Yuga is ultimately acting rashly and blindly because he doesn't want to consider the idea a friend would lie to him, and this ultimately ends up endangering all of his friends as a result. I don't think the story really focuses on that like it should in Sevens, but his rash dislike of Monster Reborn in GR really shows how this whole thing affected him.
@@prohungary8614 still, the duels are very realistic and relatable, the fact that winning or losing duels doesnt mean the character will agree with you happened a couple other times-they can think for themselves, they can struggle, have desires and wishes. It makes all the characters feel real, with how expressive they can get. The rush series, both sevens and go rush are so great
Are we sure that swirly was actually lying instead of just working off of incomplete information? Keep in mind, he had amnesia and whatever issues he had were not self inflicted.
@@prohungary8614 It's also annoying when characters lose to cards that only appear once and are heavily specific to the situation such as Shun vs Sora in Arc-V.
I still don't quite understand the change of direction the writers had with Yuga. In the first season he only lost 4 times, twice to Luke (Who, well, until he was defeated by Yuga himself in the last episode, was the strongest duelist in Sevens), and Nail and Asana (Both using Maximum when Yuga had none, totally acceptable defeats given the great disadvantage). Yuga was treated very well in the first season, solid victories and fair defeats, and then, comes the second season of Sevens and BANG! Yuga is humiliated practically every duel. The most humiliating thing about this defeat to Tiger is that he not only lost without taking 1 LP from her... But that the Beating is so great that Yuga FAINTS from exhaustion and pain in the next duel against Yuga Goha. Luke himself says that Yuga was still "tired" from this duel against Tiger. It was such a big beating that it still echoed in his next duel. Without a doubt, the most humiliating defeat of a protagonist. Edit: Oh yeah, Yuga lost once to Romim in season 1 too, a meaningless defeat, because if Romim won she said she would stop playing Rush Duel, but then she changes her mind, here we could already see what was coming next to him in season 2...Meaningless defeats one after another.
Crazy how Haruka one of the side cast Beat Yuga and Gakuto is a main as well as one of the sevens team and couldn’t even get a second duel with him, they really did him dirty

Not really, that was him still trying to figure out how Pendulum works, so he has a good excuse for losing. If anything, MC doing his best and still loses to a mere support character is more humiliating

Idk it's kinda annoying when an mc loses. Specialy when it's to a a cheap tactic.

yeah sadly he lost a lot even in go rush too but i have faith that his big win is coming
bro he only lost 3 out of the 9 duels he played in s2. this was definitely a rough L for him, but humiliated practically every duel sounds like cap

And little does he know what this “road” leads too 😅
lol true
This is why I call Luke my main character for this show
haved you watch yu gi oh go rush episode 138 and 139 subbed has been released all the go rush characters seen the sevens characters
Luke is the main character
Luke is annoying as hell
But in duel links, his deck is still powerful

Yuga got reverse plot armor
Yuga has the ash ketchum plot armor.
At least tiger got a memoral victory. The problem was that yuga was losing too much on this season.
It's find we all know Luke is the true protagonist anyways.
He need The Seal of Orichalcos to win this fight 😂😂😂😂

Yuga Ohdo, the weakest Yu-Gi-Oh protagonist of all time.
