@@Explains101 I was skeptical because many youtubers use serious subject matters like this one as clickbait. But, when you watch the video, they dish out information which is in total opposite direction of the subject matter they were supposed to provide. They make long lengthy videos filled with highly contradictory information while testing viewers patience, and at the end of the video, they give you a conclusion which doesn't make any logical sense at all--Much like a badly written work of fiction. Serious matters should not be treated like a work of fiction.

Fiat money is money that isnt backed to any commodity like gold instead its value is based on trust that it's worth something Petro dollar was an agreement by the US and major oil producing countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE e.t.c to sell their oil in USD.This move was to make sure the US dollar was the reserve currency(a currency that is accepted all over the world for trade between countries or general transactions) The thought behind it was that all nations require oil for energy and that would drive the demand for the USD making it stable and reliable as a reserve currency By the USD being the reserve currency the US gets to print money to get imports from any country but must be careful to prevent inflation. No other country has this ability and therefore the US will always and always try to protect the USD status as the reserve currency.

Then, people who already had several money in their bank won't work because their money's value already increased. And if people dont work, the economy will crush.
I had Economics as an extra subject in my final years of High School, when I first learnt about Fiat money among other things. Back then I always used to wonder why countries had the need to devalue their own currency, but I could never understand it. I hated economics so much since then that I went into tech for my college years. It is only now that I'm finally at peace knowing why they do it and why values aren't as important. Amazing video, including all the hilarious country balls. Great work!
Bro ur explanation is dope, y dont u start a series on economics, like teaching every major concepts effortlessly.... Make a video on FRACTIONAL RESERVE , its impacts good or bad nd y many consider it scam u know whom i talking abt 😅
This video is really helpful. By the way, I hate the fact that today 1 dollar is 15 Ghanaian cedis and tomorrow it becomes 16 cedis and everything, especially computers is so expensive now.
@user-sam4465 Kind of annoying when our currencies are weaker than U.S.D. that makes all imported products feel expensive... But weaker currency does not always mean bad as developed countries like South Korea and Japan also have weak currency. Btw, thank you for your comment! 😄
Ooh wow!😮 For the first time in a long while somebody like me who doesn't like mathematics is close to understanding how this money stuffs work. Thank you.
Investing in alternate income streams should be the top priority for everyone right now especially given the global economic crisis we are currently experiencing. Stocks, gold, silver and virtual currencies are still attractive investments at the moment.

An informative video that was interesting and mildly funny. This video explained such a complex topic in an easy to understand manner. 🫡 You just earned a new subscriber. Edit: loved the AI voice - it makes it easy to slip humour into the video 🤫😅
I understood the topics covered before I watched it, but the sad part (for me) is, I needed 5 years of ecomomics collage to fully understand things this guy so simply explained in 12 minutes.
Brother.. the combination of AI voice I usually watch on some TikTok Minecraft parkour with the gold mine of information is just perfect!! Keep going 💪. Subscribed!
I have a question. Let’s say I’m the dictator of Examplestan and I want to become rich. I know that printing trillions of Examplestani dollars will cause hyperinflation, so first I peg the Examplestani dollar 1-to-1 with the US Dollar. Then, I print 1 trillion Examplestani dollars and trade them for 1 trillion USD. Who would be able to stop me?
Yes, nobody will accept your Examplestani dollar even when you peg it 1 U.S. Dollar = 100 Examplestani Dollar. I mean you can see like nobody wants Venezuelan Bolivar even after the Venezuelan government redominated the currency
Also if I'm not wrong pegging a currency to another is not as simple as a statement. You need to have reserves to back it up where if your currency falls you need to buy it back to lower the supply and bring the price back up. So having well managed reserves (and large enough reserves) is key. Some back it up with gold, others with oil, etc.
"when Greece had an economic crisis in 2009"... As if it ever ended... Anyhow the video is great, you explained it so well I could understand you despite having a headache!
we covered all of this in like three months in my international business class lol. btw you can use turkey as a great example for currency devaluation video, the president tried to turn the country into "china but in europe" a few years ago but it backfired unbelievably bad

Fiat money is money that isnt backed to any commodity like gold instead its value is based on trust that it's worth something
Petro dollar was an agreement by the US and major oil producing countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE e.t.c to sell their oil in USD.This move was to make sure the US dollar was the reserve currency(a currency that is accepted all over the world for trade between countries or general transactions)
The thought behind it was that all nations require oil for energy and that would drive the demand for the USD making it stable and reliable as a reserve currency

why can't we just stop printing money to increase its value?
Then, people who already had several money in their bank won't work because their money's value already increased. And if people dont work, the economy will crush.
Debt and taxes going up
That's how governments finance itself, wars and all the free stuff
Search up "Weimar Republic" and you'll see why
There won't be circulation of currency and eventually your economy comes to a halt
